Excalibur is fine, unless you hate being around awful children and their even more awful parents. If you're cheap and want to be near your friends at Venetian, try Casino Royale. It's small and no-frills, but it's always been good enough for me and the wife (We're rich AND cheap). It's right next to Venetian. Get a players card and put in an hour at blackjack and you'll likely get offers for free rooms (2-nights every month) in the mail. Back when they had a beatable double-deck game, it was like they paid us to stay there. Good times...
