Re:Baseball Fans --- Craig Biggio HOF?
Really' i don't think any team worried about any of the 3 single handedly beating them. None of them had a particularly high obps (or batting average if you prefer that stat) nor where any of them power hitters. Biggio however did hit more doubles and home runs then either of them. I think they are all extremely similar players both stats wise and not. All top of the order, good fielding, quick, smart players, and very respected by their peers (I assume Alomar still was after the spitting incident but I couldn't say for sure obviously).

Re:Baseball Fans --- Craig Biggio HOF?
Range factors mean next to nothing. I could be wrong but I do not believe they take positioning into the equation what so ever. It also depends on the stadium you play in, what type of pitching staff your home team has etc etc. Not to mention Jeff Kent had HORRIBLE range. As a Giants fan I watched him play for years and even when he was young his range was attrocious. I'm not a huge Biggio fan or anything but he should make it without a question, and when it comes to the people actually voting, he will.

Re:Baseball Fans --- Craig Biggio HOF?
first of all thank you for someone actually making an arguement about this... alomar made 12 straight all star games becuase there wasn't any other good 2b in the AL! The Gold Glove is a stupid award as they don't really have a stat to base it off, fielding percentage was really the only common fielding stat used throughout the 90s i believe, and they are ver 10 Gold Gloves for alomar yes, but who did he have to compete against, 2 decent years of Knoblauch before he lost his arm' Biggio had to compete with Sandberg for ~5 years for both gold gloves and All Stars. Sandberg is in the ...

Re:Baseball Fans --- Craig Biggio HOF?
I like how no one has mentioned anything about my arguements... Sandberg a hall of famer, and alomar, a guy who everyone seems to think should be in both have nearly identical stats to Biggio's. so why do so many people think he should not be in but the other two should' can anyone explain this please'

Re:Baseball Fans --- Craig Biggio HOF?
and alomar and biggio's stats are different how exactly' alomar had a higher career batting average by .300 to .281 and a higher ops .814 to .796 but over his career biggio topped alomar in every category except for triples, stolen bases, caught stealing, and strikeouts (non of those being super important or huge differentials). alomar won more gold gloves and played in more all star games but what other good 2b were there in the AL through the 90s''' Biggio was competing with Sandberg (a hall of famer) for those awards.

Re:Baseball Fans --- Craig Biggio HOF?
i think it is important to take his position into the voting here. second basemen are historically not power hitters, jeff kent was really the first one (before utley and all the others that are around now), someone would have to look it up but i believe he is best power hitting second basemen ever (kent that is). that being said, take a look at rian sandberg a second basemen and hall of famer. over an average 162 game season their stats match up almost identically! admitadly sandberg has an mvp and biggio doesn't but over their carreers the #s are extremely similar. sandberg also has i ...

Re:Update of my baseball thread
Yes you handled this wrong. You shouldn't have told the guy if 'he was in the right place the runner was safe'. he was a VOLUNTEER ump from the freakin stands, id say its 50 50 he has very little idea what he's doing and is only umping so that the game can be played (this being the leagues fault obv.) You should have appealed to home plate ump of course. After the 3rd out you should have talked to the home plate/head/actual ump and asked him to talk to the dad so that he would actually be positioned properly from then on out. In questioning his integrity once you find out it ...

supream, didn't know you post here, haven't talked to you in a long time, i see youve taken off though by your results, congrats man. check my profile for my stars name. Unfortunatly you just have to suck it up and pay em, as hard as it is. Theres some very strange laws regarding it so I would suggest speaking with an accountant who knows about these things. best of luck to you on the taxes and in your play.

Stars 50bb Min Tables + pahud
Haven't played cash in a bit, but recently I've noticed some 50bb min tables at .5/1. They are pretty good tables to play at, but my pahud doesn't seem to work with them. Does anyone else out there have this problem, or know how to fix it' Thanks

Barry Bonds breaking the carreer home run mark. Randomly met up with friends for one inning in the centerfield bleachers and sure enough he hits it about 10 rows in front of me (nowhere near the seats I had been in 15 minutes before).

Re:Re(1): Tough decision in early rounds of SnG
How did your hand change from Q9 to Q8''' If your hand really was Q9 then I think you played it fine and as previously stated at that level buyin I call a shove all day long. Few if any regulars at that level I just dont give anyone credit for having your 2 pair beat there. If you only have Q8 as your second post suggests, then i flat call on the flop and fold a shove.

Self employed works well but they might ask a lot of questions. I think my favorite has to be equity analyst but they probably won't be interested in that so its a mixed bag.

Re(2): Is this a reship or good fold?
I agree with both posters. I think it is almost always a fold though, the main reason being like bef. said, you may well be up against 4 overs. You could also with two allins be dominated.

Re(4): Single table sng Turbo/whats the play in this spot?
Raising to 700 and calling a shove is the worst move you could make. If you are going to call his shove then just put him allin in the first place because you get more fold equity that way. If you raise to 700 and then fold then you have ~3:1 odds on your call and you have to make it. I think the best 2 plays are either calling (in bb if you weren't I would just fold) or shoving. I mix it up between these 2 plays depending on reads. I probably flat call and check fold a missed flop, and check shove an ace high flop, or bet out on a queen high flop

Re(1): MY BR, OVERPLAYING?
Yes you are playing to high for your bankroll. The absolute minimum I would ever have while 9 tabling would be 50 buyins. Most pros have ~100 buyins or more. 2 bad days and your br is in a world of hurt.

Re(6): Smallest cash game limits you can make a living from
Ted, As everyone has stated the odds of you finding this individual is very rare because if someone was making this money at those stakes they would move up. It is useless for you to keep asking for names when no one will provide them for the simple reason that it would be dumb for anyone to actually do it (for the most part). Now I'm sure that you will shoot down anything I say in flames because you refuse to accept the idea that it is possible to do. Granted 1 month of solid ptbb/100 play is unacceptable and cannot be dragged across a 12 month period to prove a point because lets face ...

Re(1): First hand Step 6A
I think this is a very easy fold. Shoving jj in the 1st level is a major leak I think, as is flat calling 1/6th of your stack. How would you play an overcard flop' Granted you could flat call and play the flop but I think its much safer to just fold. I believe only 1 wins a seat, but theres on reason to try to double up here w/ a hand that isn't super strong. Also his raise size is so odd its hard to put him on a range. He could be doing this w/ 2 overs to you, a smaller pp or maybe a big pair trying to get a shove out of someone w/ a weaker holding. Just my thoughts.

Re(4): Sick hand in a SNG
FOLD. why would you call an allin w/ ace high' you have little invested in the pot, horid pot odds, and can surely find a much better to spot to get allin then here. This would be an awful call. You really think he just went allin w/ king high or something'

Re(5): Those who thought I would fail.. were correct
SQ I am not going to tell you exactly what everyone else has so far. I think one of the main reasons that you tilt so hard is because of the game(s) you were playing. If I understand correctly you decided to play a 1/2 game while risking $100 and got it all in as a favorite but lost. So you lost that buyin of $100 or $200 and at that point before you lost it you had a roll of something like 1.5k' I think your tilt problem lies in the fact that you were playing to high of stakes. What I mean is this, if you are following Fox's bankroll management artice and have 30 buyins or maybe even more, ...

Re(4): DID I MAKE RIGHT CALL 27 TURBO SNG
This is a very easy fold. Take a look at the blinds you have ~18bb no reason to risk going out in 4th w/ a drawing hand (which ak is) and up against 2 allins you are very rarely ahead. I fold ak in this scenario to anyone's shove except for shortstack I will call his 10 bb shove.
