Re:Atkins?
i dont think diet is as important as exercise imo. i dropped 25 lbs this summer by starting to exercise almost daily after rarely exercising the previous 2 years. i probably increased my calorie intake over the summer but ate heathier calories and just tried to ellipical or jog or swim or play basketball or play tennis almost daily and i dropped weight fairly quickly and my energy level showed significant increase. probably would have lost 10-15 more if i didn't drink beer nearly as often as i do.

Re:If you could relive one day in your life...
almost any day spent out on my grandparents(moms side of the family) lake house during the summer is worth reliving. they have diving boards, boat, water trampoline, pool table and all sorts of fun stuff to do, usually ends with bbq. my grandparents are 2 of the nicest, coolest, most interesting people ive ever known and always love having company and let me bring over friends to play and have a good time. the place is really just a paradise to me and seems like vacation is just 30 mins away whenever i feel like it. well there was one day this summer over there that really stood out as a ...

Re:What is a normal downswing in SNGs
15 buyins is nothing if you play a lot of sngs. I'm on a 35k downswing in sngs past couple months and need to remember how to win again.

Re(3): How are your 2008 goals from this thread doing?
6 $40,196 9 man sngs ^^^^ 5 $26,919 6 man sngs ^^^^ way ahead of where I thought profits would be at and ahead of pace for supernova elite. slacking on volume/studying and plan to pick that up after vegas trip this week. way behind of pace for being less of a degen/excercise/eating healthier. need to start working on this very soon.

Re(3): 6 seater s&g with ak..what to do on river?
i like the way you played the hand but RR preflop is also very reasonable although it will create a lot more race situations early on.

Re(2): PS Steps tournaments are a rip off!
obvious you are a long shot if you buy-in to step 1. its a longshot even if you buy-in to step 3 or step 4. I buy-in to step 4 and step 5 and so far i've lost at least 10 step 5s without yet getting a ticket to step 6. Just because the higher steps gets a few more fish and gives the top players a slightly higher roi than normal sngs doesn't mean its not worth the gamble for the low stakes player/grinder. Most players aren't going to win a seat, but it gives you a decent chance to get into the biggest yearly live tournament with the most fish.

you can probably go all-in with any holdings that will win more often than a pair of michael jordan basketball cards

Re(3): turbo verse non turbo SnG's???
turbos are not necessarily more profitable when measured $/hr. nonturbos are much softer and give you twice as long to exploit your edges. granted you can play twice as many nonturbos. however in many $100+ nonturbos you can pull at least double the roi of turbos. but its hard to multitable as $100+ nonturbos dont start often.

Re(2): ps steps ...... HARD
but the step 5 and step 6 still often have fewer regulars than a standard $225 sng. they are definately going to be tough and take some luck to win a seat, but that doesn't mean there isn't good value for people willing to take a shot.

Re(4): Stars VIP Program
so many of the supernova and supernova elites also travel around a lot to play live events which makes it hard to maintain vip status. and since stars gives out so many seats to these players you'd think they'd give them a break and make it easier to maintain current vip status.

Re(1): Single Table SNGs- Maximizing Profits (6max vs. 9handed)
i can play roughly 50% more games at a time while playing 9man sngs vs playing 6man sngs. often ill play mainly 9mans and start up a few 6maxs that look soft.

Re(5): favorite stand up comedians
Gaffigan is one of my favorites but i didn't think he was all that much better when i saw him live compared to watching his standup on tv. (maybe i was just too hungover) Jeff Dunham on the other hand was amazing live. Best comedy show i've ever seen by far. I only hope he comes back to Seattle in the future. Chappelle is by far my favorite and hope I can see him do a show one day. Chris Rock is good too and im kicking myself for not buying tickets to his show in a couple weeks here.

Re(2): BONUS SNG QUIZ...
i believe he can shove close to 100% but will probably be folding some of the worst junk so probably will be 80-90% here. i'd guess calling will then be around 77+ and AT+. how soon the blinds go up to 200/400 is somewhat important here imo and could change his pushing range and your calling range by a few hands.
