The Official conservative Wiki... Enjoy democracy in knowledge but despise Wiki's liberal bias' Check out Conservapedia! Main page description: "Conservapedia is a much-needed alternative to Wikipedia, which is increasingly anti-Christian and anti-American. On Wikipedia, many of the dates are provided in the anti-Christian "C.E." instead of "A.D.", which Conservapedia uses. Christianity receives no credit for the great advances and discoveries it inspired, such as those of the Renaissance. Read a list of many Examples of Bias in Wikipedia." Re(1): Help me with my paper? Ok, here's a cynical answer: Normally, when scholars use the term 'western' they're almost always refering to a european/middle eastern religion, i.e. monotheism. I've never seen older african religions or native american religions described as western. So, this would lead us to believe that scholars really mean 'white' or 'civilized' when they say western. This is reinforced by some of the perceived differences between civilized and uncivilized religions and the differences, whether real or imaginary, between 'eastern' and 'western' poeples: monothesism/polythesism, top-down power ordering ... Re(1): Bowling for Columbine D) Brilliant visual portayal of an old sociological explanation for violent crime in the US: eg, that our violent culture explains why the US has more gun deaths per capita than most (or all) other industrialized counties. It's not guns, not video games, not movies but our culture. Weakness: Moore should have used these experts. Instead, however, he relies on more familiar faces that unknowingly agree with the academics: politicians, regular folks, etc. H) The issues' As in, the issues within the movie or in general' What a bizzar way to frame a test question. Re(1): Smoking Ban gone too far??? Smoking absolutely -EV' Only if you assume that living the longest and healthiest life possible is the supreme value to which all others are subordinate. Quite a few of us believe that living a rich and enjoyable experience goes hand in hand with an inherent higher risk to life and limb. While first hand tobacco smoke definitely carries a strong statistical risk, the dangers of second hand smoke are entirely overblown: Short Article: ; Longer, better article: And even if they weren't overblown, the statistical risks would only be significant in closed enviroments. He wakes up the next day in a tub of ice with a "C" cut that has been stiched up on the right or left side of his lower back. At the hospital, doctors tell him that he's missing a kidney. Re(12): Baseline Rapist and Serial Shooter this is funny too. The 2005 videogame Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories features a more violence-oriented parody of the Guardian Angels called the "Avenging Angels." Headed by a man called Jesus Max Sentenz, the Avenging Angels seek to rid Liberty City of crime in their own "special" way. The player has the option to work for the Angels, dispatching riotous mobs and bikers by any means possible, with special vehicles and wardrobes offered up as rewards. The Avenging Angels' uniforms also resemble the Guardian Angels' uniforms. Posted in: Off Topic |
