was i greedy??or should i chop - serious opinions Like Shawdeep I was in the same situation last week. Small tourney in Indiana, got down to five and I had double the chips second had. They wanted to chop. I KNEW beyond a shadow of a doubt I could outplay all except possibly one guy. He had made two calls way ahead and lost big pots. Second was playing LAG, and likely to make hero calls. The other two were weak and folded to pressure. Took me about two seconds to figure with blinds increasing as they were one if I lost race I lost my control of the table. Agreed to a chop, with my taking a larger share than the others. Do all casino's have this ridiculous rule?? Yes, every casino I've played at balances tables. Get on the table, request a table change, and if/when the tables are balanced they will move you to the other. I'm surprised they hadn't broke down the small table though. Usually they combine them, unless it's early in the night and they're sure they'll fill both up. *added thought* "just sitting in" was way wrong. You always ask whoever is running the desk where you sit. Posted in: Live Poker |

Can Conservatives Answer A Question? It's quite simple really, and something the CONSERVATIVES have already attempted to do. Businesses will start hiring when they feel it is "safe" to do so. I'm going to speak as a small business owner. For two years now business has been tough.. very tough. The big businesses I work with were not spending. I'm talking banks, universities, other IT companies, and healthcare (the four main sectors I supply). They weren't investing in new technologies. They weren't upgrading old hardware. They were doing the work themselves instead of hiring it out. The last few months i've started to see that ... Posted in: Off Topic |

It's Dog Time! Sophie, my million dollar rescue. Seriously, free dog (Had been beaten and starved, brought in to be put down) who has Addison's, which costs me $195 every other month for shots, $85 every three months for labwork, and all the vet bills for diagnosis and finally ICU when she went into crisis so they could figure out what was wrong. But she's awesome.. everyone loves her. Gray guy is Rocky, my son's dog (just died two months ago from old age) Roxie, an Australian Cattle Dog. Another rescue, was wild. Always has the crazy look in her eyes, but son's puppy tormenting her was too much. No, ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Stock Market Competition Yea, I see my problem; stocks went up today, putting me over the 10% rule on them. Of course, the one that i'm heaviest in (bought in for more than 10% originally hoping to ride a wave) went down but chart shows it's not done, so i'm not quite ready to dump part of it. Will have to make a decision tomorrow on which one of mine I want to dump some of to get in compliance. I'm watching two closely to see if their run is over. I am ALWAYS good about diversification. Hold in multiple sectors, no more than two stocks in the same sector at any time, never buy in for more than 15% of portfolio ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Stock Market Competition Stupid rules. Stupid stupid stupid. 50% of your portfolio must be made up of stocks that are less than 10% of your portfolio. Stupid stupid stupid. I diversified. Ten stocks, each around 10% of portfolio. Not good enough. Stupid stupid rules. I'm so not a rule follower. AMFamymarie's Mutual FundNo$10.020.21%$1,002,142.98Overview Posted in: Off Topic |

Do you want to make money? Let me tell you how SLV: Still well above 200 day MA, and above 50 day MA. I think this correction is going to bounce on the 50 before it turns up again. If it falls through, the next support is at 33.64. RSI is showing some slight leveling off/still slight downtrend. MACD is showing a significant downtrend, and the histo is still in the negatives. ADX/DMIs are showing that the negative DMI is still coming up, getting ready to cross the positive DMI confirming continued downtrend. ADX is confirming, with a downslant. Also, it's still well within it's Bollies, so price is considered relatively stable, just on ... Posted in: Off Topic |

computer wiz needed If you have a recovery disc put that in and boot it. It should give you the option to repair or reformat. If you reformat it will wipe everything out, and you'll have to start over, just like if it were a new computer. I do that to mine about every six months as it's a POS Toshiba that gets slow if it gets more than 30% of the hd full. Try the repair first. Might get you to where you can boot, then go into the menu option that let's you restore back to a prior date. Go back a week or so. Posted in: Off Topic |

Donald Trump's Candidacy/Attention Whoring: The Gift that Keeps on Giving I almost ignored this comment as it shows not only a complete lack of knowledge of the basic principals our country was founded on, but also a deep rooted bigotry. Nowhere, absolutely nowhere, does it say in our Constitution that one must be a Christian to be POTUS. In fact, the first ammendment clearly states: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" Lose the hate. There's no room for that in an intelligent debate about politics. Posted in: Off Topic |

Donald Trump's Candidacy/Attention Whoring: The Gift that Keeps on Giving Bush got lucky' Probably. The most pressing issue of the time was the issue of terrorism. Without the attack of 9/11 I highly doubt Bush would have gotten a second term, and rightly so IMO. But people looked at the prevelant issue and decided Bush was the more competant candidate to handle it. Will Obama get the same luck' Two issues put BHO into office: the economy and the novelty. The collapse of the economy and the accompanying anti Wall Street guilt caused a revolt against the establishment due to perceived responsibility caused those who were on the fence to look for change. Novelty of ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Donald Trump's Candidacy/Attention Whoring: The Gift that Keeps on Giving Every heard of FDR and the Great Depression' Eisenhower Reagan: argue about this one, but economy was turning during reelection bid. Technically we're not in a recession anymore. TY for showing another poll that backs up my original post. In case your chart reading skills need honing, notice how the line depicting approval drops below those disapproving,, and the gap continues to widen'' Try again, i'm sure you can find one where more approve than disapprove. Donald Trump's Candidacy/Attention Whoring: The Gift that Keeps on Giving Trump is an idiot, diverting attention from issues that really matter. The media giving credence to his attention whoring tactics are bigger idiots. Whoever said that BHO would get reelected because of the division amongst conservatives (note, I did not say republicans, as independants play a significant role in elections) is also an idiot. The primaries will come and go, one person will stand out as a candidate against BHO, and people will have the choice between another four years of overspending, big government BHO or an alternative. This says it all and think, there's two more years to ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Emails about his contact with the FBI agent have conveniently become "missing". Posted in: Off Topic |

The Paul Ryan Budget passed by the House will probably get a vote in the Senate Weren't you interested in the health care field at one time' Let me tell you the hardest lesson for any new health care provider to learn; sometimes, no matter what you do, the outcome isn't good. Example: I was working in a post surgery/trauma step-down unit many years ago as a telemetry tech. We had a patient post MVA with multiple severe traumas come in post ICU. Patient was a mid-40s/F in generally good health prior to accident. Her GP was a "green" trauma doc who literally was with her every step of the way. Thirty days post trauma she had an abnormal rhythm, and a code was called. She ... Posted in: Off Topic |

The Paul Ryan Budget passed by the House will probably get a vote in the Senate The real problem with Medicare is those who drain the system without ever paying into it. Most of us pay though our paychecks. OK, not you poker degens.. but those who draw a paycheck. The problem comes up when my friend has a car accident when she's in college, never having worked a day in her life and becomes "disabled". Now into her 40s she's drawing SS and Medicare, despite the fact that she got a MASSIVE (7+ figure) settlement. She's well enough to volunteer 5 days a week, and her hubby works, but she is ENTITLED to government provided health care. There is the waste. Eliminate that, ... Posted in: Off Topic |

"I take the President at his word..." Benefits. Federal workers received average benefits worth $41,791 in 2009. Most of this was the government's contribution to pensions. Employees contributed an additional $10,569. •Pay. The average federal salary has grown 33% faster than inflation since 2000. USA TODAY reported in March that the federal government pays an average of 20% more than private firms for comparable occupations. The analysis did not consider differences in experience and education. •Total compensation. Federal compensation has grown 36.9% since 2000 after adjusting for inflation, compared with 8.8% for ... "I take the President at his word..." When you own a business you learn quickly that Social Security is a trust tax. You don't pay trust taxes (money taken from employees checks) you go to jail. If congress had left their dirty fingers off of it, Social Security would be self funding. But they've borrowed and spent it to the point where they can't pay it back. The baby boomer arguement doesn't hold water; baby boomers are the first generation to pay in their entire adult lives (1935). There are MANY areas where spending needs to be cut, many government programs which have outgrown their usefullness. We have programs that monitor ... Posted in: Off Topic |

"I take the President at his word..." Ohhhh my poor head! Convincing anyone who believes Obama could do no wrong that he's increased the deficit is like teaching my dog to drive a car... it ain't happenin. Bush was far from a conservative when it came to fiscal policy. However, his terms ended almost two years ago. At exactly what point do we get to start holding Obama accountable for his spending' The "Last eight years" needs to be changed to "the last ten years, of which I didn't have time to change Bush's policies during two of" or "The eight years before I took office, and the four years it took me to figure out how to ... Stock opinions itt/ Before you decide to dump money into a stock "based on a friend's recommendation" I STRONGLY suggest you learn to read a balance sheet and basic stock charts. There are all kinds of sites out there that teach it all for free. Before I can read a chart, what are you looking for; to hold these weeks, months, years' PANL is showing some nice signs, although i'd wait for a pullback to around the 48-50 range before I entered it. That's me, I trade, I don't hold. Hyundai is private, so you can't buy it if you wanted. Renesas is so thinly traded (teenie tiny average daily volume) I'd stay away ... Posted in: Off Topic |

"I take the President at his word..." You're saying a lot there, and ironically I said much the same in my FB blog today. I've been called racist and uncaring for it. Never the less, I stand by my words; Instead of "Yes We Can" how about "Yes I Can"' Quit expecting others to do for me, take pride in self reliance, and grow some balls. By enabling generations who have grown up in the age of entitlement we've only grown the problem. Many do not believe they can break that cycle, so they don't try. In a perfect world we could easily support all those with limitations, whether physical or self imposed. This isn't a perfect world. ... Posted in: Off Topic |
