Flopped str8 vs Flush draw To profitably open that wide (and no matter how aggro you want to be T6os is a bad open, but w/e), you have to be an excellent post flop player who also knows his opponents tendencies and ranges in order to correctly value it's own hand strength and equity vs those ranges. If that was the case you'd have 0 questions regarding how this hand should be played. Edit: Not meant as an attack to your capabilities, but you said you had reasons to open this wide. If the reason is not that you can read souls post flop and know very well what your opponents's ranges are, then what would be' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Flopped str8 vs Flush draw You have reasons to play T6os UTG, hence you don't have optimal post flop strategies worked out, when it's obvious that if you open this wide you'll find yourself in these spots over and over. It seems contradictory and far from profitable. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Four to flush after flop Checking behind is not what you want to happen, it's an action. I'll make it easier: Do you want to put more money in the pot or not' And if you do, do you want your opponent to fold, call, or raise' Do you want to put ALL your money in the pot' If so, how do you think you'll be able to WIDEN your opponent's range enough for you to have as much equity in the pot as possible' In this particular hand your opponent will be an underdog no matter what he has with the sole exception of sets, so you probably want to make a bet for an amount that allows him to stay in the hand or reraise you with ... Four to flush after flop OP: by reading your response I confirm my 1st impression, which was what lead me to ask you WHY you bet. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you would've cbet with AKos as well, although with AKss you have more "justified" reasons to bet. My whole point, and it has nothing to do with the perceived and/or real strength of your hand, is that basically you cbet "because you raised preflop". I raised, therefore now I have to represent something strong. In this particular example your hand does have the biggest equity an unpaired hand can possibly have, so you perceive the bet makes more sense. Note ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Four to flush after flop Alright, let's start from the beginning then: When is your turn to act on the flop and you elect to bet, why you do it' As a value bet or as a bluff' I am not criticizing anything, nor am I saying I'd bet, check, shove, check fold or any of that. I just assume you're posting the hand to get help, correct' OK then, let's pass the "get in there" "never folding" "check raise" "check shove" "shove" blah, blah, blah stage, and think about WHY we do things. So, OP, why you bet the flop' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

pokerstars/ imdanuts/ superuser wtf Technically they are. The problem is when those questions affect the perceived integrity of a player without adding any evidence. In that case, question should be removed from the board, this is quite simple to understand actually. I'm not friends with Chris, have never crossed a word with him, so this is not me coming here to voice for a buddy. Posted in: Poker Community |

Top MTT Leaks discussion Clicking buttons; not thinking, not knowing why they do what they do, what they want to accomplish, what they want their opponents to do, what their opponents want them to do. Those are the leaks people have in poker. Don't matter if they size too big or too small, the problem is: they don't know what they accomplish with that sizing. Same regarding what to do with X hand and Y stack size. The problem is that they don't understand what line of action fits their hand strength and their stack size (or their opponent's) best... Which brings us back to my original point: The leak people has in ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Merge Poker Maximus Team PLB Contest March 4-25 I would hate to exclude people, but with the schedule this series have it doesn't make much sense to have two tiers; even the low limit guys will be playing like 75% of events. I can be captain, but can't do it on Sunday, we'll be playing with quite a few tables up. I'd be down for doing it on Friday/Saturday. Posted in: Poker Community |

folding top pair on the internet..............LOL Haven't posted in long time, although I never stopped reading, but today I felt forced to abandon my retirement to state something: Low/mid stakes MTT's are as soft as they were back in 2006; and even mid-high stakes MTT's regs/fish ratio is lower than ever. Dead money is flowing the tables. How do I know this' Why can I make such claim' There are two undeniable examples: 1: I review an average of 15 HH's a week, and I see things that no human being deserves to see. The Old Testament God, the One full of anger and fury, revenge and wrath, could not have imagined worse ways to torture It's ... Posted in: Poker Community |

3handed in the 320$... about to talk chop Betting turn puts you in a "WTF do I do now" spot when he shoves. You HAVE to anticipate that possibility, and have a solution for it. Saying from here that you have to call or fold is pretty much worthless, because now it's a guessing game in which we will never know how often each option is the right one. You know better than anybody what the dynamics at the table were, and what range could he be shoving here. I do think it'd be very rare for a random to show up with worse. just a general question about calling 3bets or 4bet/c with AK. But here is the trade off.. if u have AK and get 3 bet from a good/tight player. where you can range them with QQ/KK.. don't you lose value if an ace hit on the flop' most of them is just gonna check/fold any ace flop. So basically you are saying that we don't have implied odds vs good villains, OOP, with AK. Consider that next time you say "folding is out of the question", or "it can be ignored", whatever your expression was. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
