PLO - Nuts with no redraws. Are we always getting it in here? I don't check because he can have the straight + draw; I check because the only hand I'm repping is exactly what I have in it's different variations, so it's gonna be impossible for him to try to bluff me, value bet worse, or turn non nutted value hands into bluffs. How am I supossed to make money in poker if I only play big pots vs hands that have the same equity mine has + possible freerolls' PS: pot pre Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Is it worth it to Cbet with air in early levels of MTT's? My veteran status has nothing to do with anything; my point is valid or it's not. What is a "protection bet"' Info, block, feel...' I don't know what this means. What am I "protecting" when I make a bet' In this board or in any board. If the flop was QQ7, AA9, A89ss, QT7dd, whatever board texture, what would be a blocking, a protection or a feel bet in any type of board'' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Is it worth it to Cbet with air in early levels of MTT's? Yeah, now my head is hurting. I never said betting is bad, I asked why we bet, then I was told that my question is fucked up bc this is about ranges, so I opened poker stove, put some hands in there, and saw the equity I have when nobody paired ( big equity), and when someone has any type of pair ( small equity), and wondered if I will make them fold with just 1 flop cbet, because that'd be great. Then I asked the question again....WHY we bet' I know nothing about balance ( other than when I step in one it breaks), specially in a low stakes mtt playing vs people I will probably never see ... Is it worth it to Cbet with air in early levels of MTT's? Sorry, but this part I don't understand. When I make a bet, I bet for value ( I want to get called by worse), or I bet as a bluff ( I expect better hands to fold). About the "equity in the hand", our equity vs any pair below JJ is 27%, our equity vs a hand that paired on the flop and shares a hole card with us (A3-6-T, Q3-6-T) is ~15%. Sorry if my question is "fucked", I'm just trying to understand how this works, so I'll say it again: It's a value bet, or a bluff' Because in the 9 years I've been playing no limit Texas Hold'em I never knew about other forms of betting. I just did some ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Tough Spot with Flopped Flush in Main Event One single thing I'd add: if we think this is a sick spot with the 2nd nuts, why in hell would we EVER shove' If we are ahead, let aggressor do the betting. If we are willing to put all our chips in the middle, we need to do so against the wider range possible, and shoving accomplishes exactly the opposite Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Flopped str8 vs Flush draw To profitably open that wide (and no matter how aggro you want to be T6os is a bad open, but w/e), you have to be an excellent post flop player who also knows his opponents tendencies and ranges in order to correctly value it's own hand strength and equity vs those ranges. If that was the case you'd have 0 questions regarding how this hand should be played. Edit: Not meant as an attack to your capabilities, but you said you had reasons to open this wide. If the reason is not that you can read souls post flop and know very well what your opponents's ranges are, then what would be' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Flopped str8 vs Flush draw You have reasons to play T6os UTG, hence you don't have optimal post flop strategies worked out, when it's obvious that if you open this wide you'll find yourself in these spots over and over. It seems contradictory and far from profitable. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Four to flush after flop Checking behind is not what you want to happen, it's an action. I'll make it easier: Do you want to put more money in the pot or not' And if you do, do you want your opponent to fold, call, or raise' Do you want to put ALL your money in the pot' If so, how do you think you'll be able to WIDEN your opponent's range enough for you to have as much equity in the pot as possible' In this particular hand your opponent will be an underdog no matter what he has with the sole exception of sets, so you probably want to make a bet for an amount that allows him to stay in the hand or reraise you with ... Four to flush after flop OP: by reading your response I confirm my 1st impression, which was what lead me to ask you WHY you bet. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you would've cbet with AKos as well, although with AKss you have more "justified" reasons to bet. My whole point, and it has nothing to do with the perceived and/or real strength of your hand, is that basically you cbet "because you raised preflop". I raised, therefore now I have to represent something strong. In this particular example your hand does have the biggest equity an unpaired hand can possibly have, so you perceive the bet makes more sense. Note ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Four to flush after flop Alright, let's start from the beginning then: When is your turn to act on the flop and you elect to bet, why you do it' As a value bet or as a bluff' I am not criticizing anything, nor am I saying I'd bet, check, shove, check fold or any of that. I just assume you're posting the hand to get help, correct' OK then, let's pass the "get in there" "never folding" "check raise" "check shove" "shove" blah, blah, blah stage, and think about WHY we do things. So, OP, why you bet the flop' Posted in: Poker Discussion |
