Re:People over 30 there are some of us over 30 who grind pretty consistently...i'm 35 and play 30-40 mid-high $$$ MTTs a week, been doing so for over 3 years now and carved out a nice little profit. i'd love to see a PLB leaderboard for us old timers but i can't figure it out...i can't even figure out how to work the damn VCR!!! Re:Re : Bad Beats at Crucial Stages of tourneys i know u don't want to hear it but you just got unlucky. no "advice" is going to make your hand not get cracked. it sucks at crucial stages when this happens. take comfort in the fact you played well enough to get to this stage of the tournament, you must be doing something right. if you keep getting there, luck will even out and you will take it down...best of luck. Re:Whats THE most over used word in the forums?? not justified but it really bugs me when someone posts something then leaves a few spaces than a "-(insert shorter version of name)" also the "obv brag post" used to really bug me, but people have taken it to a whole new level so now i like it. -914 Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:andressoprano over a year ago i was going through the worst stretch i've ever had in online poker. i finally got deep in a tournament, i think it was a 30cubed or something, and i sent out a railcall on p5. andres was there cheering me on within minutes even though i had never chatted with him before. he is someone who truly cares about poker and pocketfives as a community, and it seems like he's worked extremely hard at his game...plus, it's inspiring to see someone older than even me grinding daily. keep up the good work andres!!! Re:low/micro mtt help? When the bubble bursts all the short stacks are going to be shoving, that's just the way it works. based on your reads of them from earlier in the tourney, before they smelled the money, you need to call their shoves fairly liberally. Unfortunately this is the time you have to race. You'll notice the average stack is at its lowest compared to the blinds right around here, so its time to gamble a little bit. Keep exploiting those middle stacks before the bubble so you can afford to lose a race or two. Sometimes you run bad, but eventually the luck all evens out. You seem to have a ... Some advice before becoming a full time MTT'er First off I'd like to say thank you to everyone in this community for contributing, this site has helped me with my game so much... That being said, invariably a few times a week there is a post about someone who has been putting up some results and wants to quit their job or quit school to become a full time tournament player online. I've been grinding for a couple of years now putting in some pretty high volume and there are some things I think you should consider... 1.) Don't quit school- you can never get that time back...ever. you should be happy playing Sundays and a few ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:how long did it take you guys? for some reason i seem to do better in the really large field tourneys than med sized...400-800 people...the first one was the pokerstars daily $27.50 almost two years ago. ive won a couple since, i think it all comes down to patience. all you can do is pick ur spots well and get it in good. get some reads on your opponents and play their ranges accordingly... patience, patience, patience. gl. Re:How do we fix all this? ok, but aren't there steps we can take as a community to make the situation better' how about the major sites listing explicitly what is allowed and what isn't boldly and clearly on their home pages when it comes to multiaccounting, same isps, etc...and standardizing these rules across the major sites. also make it clearer to us, their customers, what they are doing to thwart cheaters' we need to petition the sites that we pay so much rake to, demands that will put the player at ease that he or she is playing in a fair game.
