An Open Letter to the Community and Beyond on Integrity in Poker.
I am not as well known here at p5s, as I am more of a cash game player, but I play a fair bit of tournaments, and I speak a lot about unity in this letter, so it seems only fitting to reach out to p5s in addition to 2+2. I hope this is well received and my point gets accross. Open letter to the poker community on integrity, and our responsibility as gamblers. fwiw Had lunch w/ platts, asked him straight up if he was on the phone w/ jj and he 100% was. That said, he says he made every decision on his own, and it wasn't jj telling him what to do. I think the ethics and the shadiness of it all is absolutely absurd, and i let matt know that, but what can be done, I have no idea. Obviously I think JJ had a strong influence at the very least, and I don't think anyone denies that, but there is no way to prove or verify anything, so w/e. mkind, you were not even in the room, so i have no clue what you are talking about. When I left the room platts was not on the phone, but ppl who were in his room said he was later on when i went to bed. I don't particularly want to get into the ethics or the whatever of it, but if ppl are gonna lie about the events then I feel it should be cleared up. edit: when i left there were like 20 left. Apparently from like 4 dif ppl in the room he was on the phone w/ jj towards the end.

I'm not going to get into the specifics of why I called, but obviously it was influenced by the fact that pol was being extremely aggressive the last 30 minutes, and didn't seem to be slowing down at all. Obviously the river call is thin, and there are a lot of hands that you can have that beat me, but given the timing as well as the small reraise pf I felt you had a huge range.

The first time you opened from mp and and I shoved in the sb, about 3 rounds before the QT hand. Either way, it was a fine call anyway, I'm not pissed or anything, gl in the rest of the tourney.

yeah, I thought i had a pretty good read on him, the 2 of us had been going at it like crazy so far and he knew i'd be calling him down pretty light, so i thought there was a decent chance he was barreling the whole way, maybe yes maybe no, i dont know 100% if hes capable of a bluff there. Anyways he was playing very well at the FT, very aggressive and tough to be playing shorthanded with. Congrats to ruso cause i just assume he's gonna beat the other dude, I lost after AJs couldn't outrun 55, and then A6 lost to KK 3 handed with 7 bbs or something. gg anyways

Well, you have stated that it is done a lot and that you do it, but you have not said why it is right or justifiable. Where do you draw the line I wonder' Rules are that it is 1 person to a tournament. I mean, if you get placed at the same table, are you simply going to pretend you aren't there' Like playing yourself in chess right' Gimme a break. I am more than willing to hear why you think it isn't wrong, but I don't see any justifiable reason.
