P5s Scouting Report
An extremely consistent winner, who lets his play at the tables do all the talking for him. Jon "apestyles" Van Fleet has been a valuable member of the PocketFives.com community since 2005.
Jon won two Triple Crowns and the Monthly PLB in August 2007. In early 2008, he racked up three online scores of over $30,000 including two final table appearances in the Full Tilt $750k Guaranteed and a win in the PokerStars $100 rebuy. He won the Absolute Poker Weekly $150k Guaranteed in November '08 for $37,500. In March '09, Jon placed 5th in the Stars $1.5M Guaranteed Sunday Million for $57.6k, then had a 3rd place showing in the Stars Sunday Warm-Up for $67,650 in August '09. In April '10, Jon earned an outright victory in the FTOPS XVI Event #5 ($100+9 NLHE with rebuys) for $123,600. In September '10, Jon captured a victory in a WCOOP 2nd Chance ($1,000+50 NLHE) event for $133,000.
In October 2012, he final tabled the PokerStars Sunday $100R for $10,000. In mid-December of the same year, he went out with a bang by winning the PokerStars Super Tuesday for over $100,000. He won the same tournament in May 2012 for another $76,000.
Jon has earned the respect of his peers through the way he plays the game and conducts himself at the online tables. He is rumored to have competed against TheWacoKidd in a Roshambo heads-up match for thousands of dollars during the 2006 World Series of Poker. He is also the co-author of Winning Poker Tournaments One Hand At A Time, Volumes 1-3.
