Kevin McColgan aka Bukowski101 wins $1100 heads up at Chicago Poker Classic Congrats to Bukowski101 on winning the $1100 heads up tournament at the Chicago Poker Classic. I don't know many people that have worked harder on their game over the years. Great to see his dedication paying off with a big score like this. Posted in: Live Poker |

Who was #1 already? I'm not sure why my profile isn't loading/ it isn't working for me either. I was ranked #1 in 06, but it was before automated rankings, so my profile (when it was accesible) has my highest ranking listed as 8th. Posted in: Poker Community |

(Honestly) Can someone explain this button shove to me. There are times and spots where this would be the optimal line for this spot... not saying it is here, because I don't have enough info on what is going on, but just wanted to play devil's advocate a little. Certainly it's a +ev line as has been mentioned a couple times already. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Triple Crown outdated I know p5's has updated the requirements for a TC a couple of times over the years. I think a new update is needed. The online poker scene has changed a ton since the last update. One of the things that have happened is that virtually all the big tournaments are on 2 sites. Winning a tournament on Cake or Bodog (and to an extent Cereus) is much less prestigious that winning one on Stars or FTP. I believe that award should be changed to reflect this reality. The 3 different site requirement should be dropped and a new clause requiring at least 2 wins to me on FTP/Stars should be implemented. ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Main Event blinding out situation Obviously the last 2 pre Nov days are Friday and Sat again, so that another issue. At the same time I can't imagine skipping the ME and I can't imagine playing through Saturday in it. I figure that the vast majority of the time I won't have to worry about the last days, but Foucalt on 2+2 brings up a good point about how all the equity in tournaments is decided at the end, and if I can't play that surely it's neg -ev. I'm interested in how -EV it is. Also, while logically it should be the same sitting out day 2 vs sitting out day 6, the latter will be much harder for me. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Main Event blinding out situation I am an orthodox Jew and therefore I can't play poker on the Sabbath, which according to Jewish law runs approximately from Friday Sundown to 25 hours from then. I'm thinking about playing the main event and sitting out for the last part of day 2, namely from about 725pm onwards. Note that Day 2 starts at noon and the structure of the Main event is: 30k start stack, 120 min levels, 20 min break, 90min dinner break after 2nd level of day. Assuming all goes as scheduled, Day 2 schedule looks like: 12-2- level 5 (2-400 50a) 2-220-break 220-420- level 6 (250-500 50a) 420-550- dinner 550- 750- ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
