Re:I suck, what do you do differently here?
Agree the call preflop is fine. It's way better than raising, and folding doesn't make sense with the tremendous odds given. I agree with raising big if you've checked the flop. With two players in, I prefer betting out on the flop to protect the hand. Even heads up it's not bad, because someone with an overpair will raise and you can push. I think the goal here has to be to get the money in early as possible, so bet/three bet or check raise the flop. Then the turn play is moot, it's either already all in or you're shoving almost every time as Wein says. Good fold on ...

Re(1): moving to vegas
I'm in Silverado Ranch, which is just closer to the Strip than Green Valley - 10 minutes to Mandalay Bay and the airport, 15 minutes to Bellagio. My place will be for sale soon - 2200 sq ft, three bedrooms, loft, totally redone master bath, great pool, full surround, etc. in family room. Send me a PM if you're interested.

Re(1): Damn Rizen was rooting for you but WTF
All I know for sure is that the "brat" to "gentleman" quotient when we're down to like 10 tables will be worse than it was last year, since Rizen fully falls in the latter category. Let's hope people were paying attention to Rizen last year and not others like Molina. GG Rizen - get em next year.

On the main WSOP website, it's in the news section under "end of day 1x" and it is just a list of chip counts in order, but it has your table number. You can see everyone else's table number too.

ME table assignment - help with players around me
Hey guys, I'm going to have Hasan Habib to my right on day 2 with 88,000 chips (I have 75,000). Anything I should know if you've played with him before' How about a guy named Richard Weisman, directly on my left' He's from Las Vegas and has a few small cashes listed on PokerPages. But he's got like 157,000 in chips. Thanks in advance.

Re(7): 2 hands from 10/20 and 25/50
I liek checking behind on the first hand. St louis and pen - isn't there an argument on the second one to just call on the turn' I'm thinking this might be one of those hands where you're either way behind or way ahead, and it's better to let the pther player "bluff" at it. Said another way, aren't the only hands calling the ones that we're beat by' So its better to just call, knowing we'll call most any bet on the river' I am asking because it seems that's how I "like" to play these TPTK hands, but am looking for alternate theories. BTW, I do realize there are two flush draws out, but it ...

Shipit, can you expand your thought' I don't think I'd call here either, but he's getting a little over 2 to 1 on his money, and if he thinks his flush is good, he is about 2 to 1. Or is it because there is already two in (therefore reducing his odds accordingly); and he should maybe assume some of his clubs are no good or there will be full house redraws and he's really not getting the right price' Or maybe you just mean he should have just folded A2cc to begin with... Thanks for the feedback.

Re(1): 2007 WSOP SCHEDULE IS OUT!!
I love it - every weekend (Friday and/or Saturday) is a low buy-in NL event, for those of us who are stuck with a normal day job. Seemed like the last couple fo years, the weekend events were all higher buy-in or the "other" poker games.

Re(4): hand that me and bush disagreed on weigh in
I don't mind the play - I often play cautious in that spot with so much noise on the board. But I think another raise on the turn is a good play here. One, it makes him pay to draw out if he has a real hand like a set, and the money still goes in when you're ahead. And a raise that's not all-in is likely better than a push, because if he's bluffing he may try to fire again with a reraise. More importantly I think, if he has a draw (I assume the most likely draw he'd have on the turn is a club draw) he may call the raise or all-in on the turn but not call a dime on the river. Taking it one ...

Re(1): Huge hand in the WSOP, how would you play it?
I've thought about this hand alot since seeing it on the PPV. I go back and forth between calling and folding - maybe depending on my mood at the time. It's such a close decision. I have one comment though that I don't know if anyone has mentioned in other threads. I know for certain that Wasika did not think about this long enough or hard enough. Less than two minutes when I saw it live. And he never asked the question of the TD as to what would happen if he and Binger both busted. Even if he knew the answer like a lot of us would, you have to at least verbalize that thought and talk it out ...

Well, he did pull running jacks to make quads after being all in with JJ against QQ and a Q on the flop. I think that counts as lucky.

Re(1): Negreanu vs Elezra on HSP
BTW, I think Daniel played the flop and turn nicely, betting (or raising) on the flop a little when he flopped the straight, then betting bigger on the turn when one of the other straight cards came (board was 2,3,4,6 after the turn), to make sure he wasn't counterfeited or give up half the pot for a cheap price.

Negreanu vs Elezra on HSP
I apologize if there was already a thread. But the hand that Daniel called on the river with his flopped straight and the river paired the board giving Eli a full house - that hand is really bugging me. Of course I have to intro by saying of course Daniel is a great player, etc. and I am actually a fan of his. But I think he played that river really bad. First, he makes a huge visible gesture of disgust. Gee, I wonder if everyone knows what he had now. That's something that some donkey did against me in the Pokerstars Bahamas tourney when a four flush hit the board - I don't expect that ...

Pocketfivers getting some press (Las Vegas article on Net ban)
Jeff Haney on the poker community's reaction to any ban of the online game [Las Vegas Sun] Today: August 30, 2006 at 7:17:41 PDT With the U.S. Senate scheduled to reconvene next week, opponents of a measure that would severely restrict Internet gambling by Americans are on high alert. Groups monitoring the legislation include privacy advocates, Texas hold 'em sit-n-go tournament junkies and diehard Let It Ride loyalists. It's a disparate collection united by a single philosophy - allowing the federal government to forbid people from gambling on their computers would be the most ...

Re(5): 11r hands
I think J10 is a good hand to call with in this situation (stack sizes, etc.). It plays well seeing all 5 cards, and is a relative coin flip against a lot of the hands people push with (mid pairs, Ax and two higher broadways). I am OK with that play for sure.

Good observation. It just doesn't seem like the "Stars way" of doing things. Seems like they've always tried to reward good play. This pay structure doesn't seem to do that.

Attn. Lee Jones - comment on WCOOP satellite payouts
In many of the WCOOP satellites, the cash payouts for the remainder cash after whole seats are awarded doesn't make sense to me. An example: In the $22R satellite to the $2,600 NLH event, there were 81 entrants, and 143 rebuys/addons. So a prize pool of $4,480. The payouts were basically: 1st - entry to tourney 2nd through 32nd - $62 33rd - $20 This doesn't really seem fair to the players who finish 2nd or 3rd - playing two more hours, high quality poker and getting through 95% of the field, yet getting paid the same amount as someone who managed to get through 60% of the field. In your ...

Re(5): "Got the Flush?"
At least 10 times a day I still think to myself that the fact that I didn't cash in the ME, given the level of play, is just the saddest thing I can imagine. Luckily, I'm up quite a bit in August online, which helps me think I might actually know how to play, and maybe that was just one bad day in July. But still. I have to believe even a mild-donk like me should have been able to come away with $15,000 from that uber-donkfest. Going deep, I believe, is a whole nother story, and I think the accomplishements of all the P5ers who did can't be understated - ie, Gamble, Colson, Rizen, and ALL ...

Re(2): H@££ is just too sick
I think Genius played this hand very well. I especially like the raise on the flop, but not re-re-raising on the flop. I think if he re-raises the flop, he doesn't get to double up. These threads, people say "so-and-so is good also." There are lots of good players at this game, and at the 10/20 games. Heck, twin-caracas has been playing 5/10 recently - probably saw Holl was on a rush and didn't want to contribute. I think the lineup is pretty good all around. How'd you like to see twin-caracas at your 5/10 table - no thanks.
