Go P5ers at the PCA Final Table (Official Final Table Sweat Thread)
Yeah I took that into account a bit, narrowed down Chris' shoving range. Knew I was nitpicking either way. I would be still be sick trying to convince myself he didn't have the same straight, realizing a much bigger part of his range was a full house or nut straight. But again you are probably right, he probably doesn't make that size bet unless he knows what he's gonna do faced with a big check raise.

Go P5ers at the PCA Final Table (Official Final Table Sweat Thread)
Great plays by both players. Maybe Galen got a little bit greedy with the pot sized bet. Can't one of Chris' showdown hands be the same straight'

Chris Oliver vs Harry Kaczka (PCA Main)
Like threads like these except for the post's where people are taking things personally' My thought is that Harry should've 5 bet shoved. Except it's as Daize said himself, it seemed that Harry was setting him up to shove light. I just don't like setting that kind of trap with AK there, someone inevitably flips up two very live suited cards. I mean is there chance that Daize shows up with Ax in that spot' And just one more thing that I know someone has said. Do we sometimes place base too much of our analysis on the amount of bets there were' If it were so important, then obv Harry was the ...

Negreanu on ladies event/deeb, and burns duke....
Pretty valid burn by Negreanu. The reason Duke is so defiant about the Ladies' Event seems to be wild idealism. But when it comes to having a punchy way to promote herself, the idealism is completely forgotten. Chances are she is more motivated by cheap publicity in taking this stance against the WSOP.

Re:Worse call ever ?
This is where I compare davem to Phil Ivey and everyone laughs. I thought Ivey made a mistake in this hand creating a big pot with a tight player, with a vulnerable hand. A lot of people on here felt like Ivey should have folded to Mercier's 3-bet shove, of course, Ivey didn't. When he raised Mercier's flop lead, he had decided that he had the best hand based on a specific read of the situation, and that he was never folding. Davem sometimes as good as Phil Ivey, Phil Ivey sometimes as bad as Davem, or the wild card, Phil Ivey sometimes as good as Davem'

Re:Worse call ever ?
I can't believe this thread is this long. It's funny to me because it's not that the OP played the hand that horribly. It's funny because he is trying to refute very basic concepts. Just to make sure, most people do feel that this is more a case of the villain making a very good play in trapping than the OP making a very bad play right' I mean if his read was really that villain was Mr. Tilty than he should have 3 bet, but otherwise flatting pre is not that bad. When checked to on the flop, I don't think it's horrible to try to end the hand with an oversized bet ...

and out, was a fishy raise from SB, pretty sure it was a big hand, but the "I have less than 20 BB's and feel like I'm being pushed around so I have to shove in this spot" won the debate. Swingy level, lost a big hand to UTG raiser who made two pair with 57. Let's just say I played JJ conservatively. 6000 + after 2nd break.

At 2800 in the low in what has felt like a tough table draw. Presented with terrible spots twice with two pair, both of which cost me decent pots. I'm much better at playing the nuts.

Re:line check Scoop 1k
If you ship preflop he might fold any AK/AQ combo, and might fold QQ. That in mind, I think calling the 4 bet pre>folding>shoving, but what would you be flatting pre' Obviously a queen flopping makes the hand particularly sick. I agree that calling the flop and folding the turn is incorrect. Tough spot imho. If this were anywhere near my bankroll though, I go for broke 99% of the time.

A.) This could be a cooler/bad beat, which is not considered poker discussion. B.) We should have the best hand and play it for value. C.) Players bet more times when checked to than when bet into. D.) We beat KQ, K10, QQ (which gets value from a few hands). E.) I think two more streets of value is possible only with c/c lines. F.) I'm a gimp.

Re:Kid Poker vs Mike Matusow
Yeah, love Negreanu and follow his blog, but he I haven't seen him more visibly frustrated than he has looked this season. He already folded the best hand in a big spot earlier in the season when he folded a better flush to Benyamine's baby flush. Clearly a lot of his past on High Stakes is in his head. Matusow doesn't need to apologize to anyone though. Negreanu was making some pretty mean-spirited jabs at Matusow's expense, one of which directly addressed the fact that Matusow was playing SO tightly. All that said, Negreanu could have folded to the 3 bet. Worse is that, I ...

Re:Interesting Hand from the UB 150k guaranteed FT
I know there was a topic about polarized ranges and what exactly means to everyone but i never followed up. That being said you can have any combo of K9 suited and 66. That's what I have you on from everything I've read. You can't get him to fold a better hand on the turn or call with a worse with that range thus the check. That's how I've ruled out 99 or better hands. He obviously bet the turn planning to ship any river when checked to to rep a huge hand. His range is polarized and could cause you to call with 66 and be beaten or talk yourself into folding 99 or better. ...

Re:Line Check: WWYD in a micro?
I think you are deep stacked enough to justify the flat call. That seems like a large preflop raise, and usually that's strengh from what I've seen playing micro, against this kind of player. There are a lot of hands in this range that can 4 bet you and put you in a difficult spot. I think open folding is bad though especially since you have position on him after the flop.
