Re:Getting backed!?!? Thoughts please
Agreed. And def look into if you're looking for a backer. Just don't post a thread asking for a stake. Read the rules, look for a stake that makes sense in the "Make a Deal" forums and apply for it. You'll probably have to start small to prove yourself, but it's a worthwhile site.

Maybe someone just combined "luck" and "fucker," which would make MUCH more sense than your idea. Instead of saying lucky fucker, they just said lucker.

Re:How to play AK here? (Preflop)
Push. You have 20BB and can't wait forever. This is a prime spot to pick up some chips. If he's solid, then he may respect your raise and fold, or maybe he calls with an underpair. If folded to him and he folds, you add more than 20% to your stack. If he calls with an underpair, you have a good chance to double. Plus, you're putting a lot of pressure on anyone behind the two of you that might have a mid pair. If you just call, then you're giving odds to someone with a mid-pair, although they still have to fear a re-raise from him. Again, I say push.

Re:Ultimate Bet refer a friend???
I thought the same thing, but have no clue who in the hell would do that as I haven't even talked about UB in years. I just think it's kind of odd and thought I'd see if anyone else has received the e-mail.

I haven't played on UB in probably 6 or 7 years, yet I get this e-mail today. I sure as hell haven't referred anyone to them, especially with all the shit that went down at the site. Anybody else NOT play there or refer anyone, but get this e-mail'

Re:A Poker Epiphany and Hilarious Story from 1k event on Mississippi Coast
I know the feeling. I actually bubbled an online tournament in a similar manner the other night. And, like you, I always blow up. But for some reason, I wasn't pissed this time. I felt like I had played a good game (minus one hand) and was surprisingly happy, even though I bubbled. Several have seen me bitch on here recently, but I've also decided I'm done with that (at least when it comes to poker). I'm just going to play the best game I can and make the best decisions I can, the rest is up to the cards. Whatever will be, will be.

Re:WOW im the stupidest idiot ever
Yep. Always unregister immediately. Then, if you feel like playing, you can always register because those games never (or at least rarely) ever completely fill up. I guess I shouldn't say "always," as it can be beneficial to remain registered if you know you'll be slightly late getting to the comp.

Re:why sngs will always be profitable
I guess I should have clarified my post. ICM says to shove w/ 44+. However, I certainly agree with others that I would not be shoving that light in that situation, for the very reason Jennifear (and others) mentioned.

Re:Ever see a hand like this
Maybe I'm stupid, but I think I fold with bottom set there. Unless these guys were playing wild aggressive poker, I'd have to think my bottom set is no good with that kind of action. I mean, seriously, what else could they have in that spot' Do you think they're both on draws' Do you think they both have overpairs' Maybe I'm way off base, and I'm sure I'll hear about it if I am.

Agreed. I said in another post that I've "won" several of those with 25 chips or LESS in my stack, watching two big stacks play at each other and one of them bust. Let them be idiots, if it gives me the win.

Re:Pokerstars Double or Nothing Strategy 101
I do agree that there are many retarded plays, including the big stack shoving to isolate an all-in player (in the DoN games). As for the "everyone call" play, I'm torn on that one. The big stack only has the responsibility to insure that he wins. If he doesn't want to call, that's his right. And the medium stacks sometimes can't call because if they contribute to the shorty, then those medium stacks would soon find themselves in trouble. All that said, if people do call pre-flop and the shorty is all in with only 6 people left, then yes, everyone should check down ...

Re:Whats the best way to spend my T$215?
There is nothing wrong with taking a shot, but take a look at the structure of the Million. Sure, you start off with 10k chips, but the blind levels start higher. Compare the blind percentages of the Million to the blind percentages of other tournies and you'll see it's really not that great. Also, what does that $215 mean to you' Is it money that really don't care about' If so, then take your shot and play to win. However, if you'd rather take more than one shot, then you could play in some of the smaller guaranteed tournies that start you off with 3k chips and still a decent ...

Re:Shove to take away a split pot?
He's fired 3 times into this pot and doesn't seem to show any fear of a third d hitting on the river. If you shove, you're obv trying to rep a flush, but what if he has that flush' Do you want to risk most of your stack on him NOT having a flush or 8 5, both of which are very likely hands for him. He didn't fire that much into the pot on the turn, so he could easily have a flush draw and just be controlling the pot. Or maybe he has the flush draw with the 5d, although I'd think he'd bet more on the turn in that case. I don't think you can shove here, just because a ...

Re:Pokerstars Double or Nothing Strategy 101
Agreed. I've "won" several of those games by watching people with hands such as yours get all in and lose, while I sat there with 25 chips or LESS!! There is no reason for any two people to get involved in that first hand posted when the shorty has 160 chips left, but many people simply don't understand that. However, these games have become less profitable lately as you often find 5 or more grinders at the table who actually know how to play them. These games are really nothing more than small satty games where everyone that "wins" gets the exact same thing. For ...

Re:Are some players just more unlucky?
I disagree. A bad player is still a bad player, even if he puts in tons of volume. Sure, maybe he will learn from some of his mistakes over the long run, but just playing tons of poker does not cause one to be lucky. A bad player will still lose more than they win, even with very high volume. Hell, even with huge volume, you still need luck at all the right moments. You can have great luck early in a tourney, only to go from huge stack to busted before the money because of bad luck or simply bad play. Volume alone does not make a good player.

Re:1st time I've ever heard this rule...
You SHOULD be able to fold your hand if it's your turn to act, even if nobody has bet, but why would you' You're throwing money away by doing this. Sure, the vast majority of time you would lose, but many times I've seen hands checked down to the river and the big blind won the hand with something like 63o on a board with a lone 3. If everyone is going to check, just keep checking. Wait till someone bets before you fold. But yes, if someone wants to fold when it's their turn, by all means, they should be able to.

Wow, pretty fucked up ruling. If your cards were face up and everyone saw them, then it doesn't matter. I'd go back and get all in with her again, then deal the burn cards on top of hers. Bars and local games have some fucked up rules. One tourney I played in several years ago had a "no side pot" rule. If a guy was all in for 1 chip, then NOBODY at the table could have more than 1 chip in the pot, not even the blinds that had already posted. Most fucked up game I ever played in. I never went back there.

Yep. If you're confident he's going to shove on you if you open raise from button, you have to be prepared to call him. Or just let the hand go if you don't want to call him.

Re:Flopped set against other big stack, how do you play it?
I'm not "scared" of anything, but just wondering if it's wise to play for my entire stack against one of the few at the table who can bust me. I don't want to play timid, but was posting this to get honest feedback. Did I make a mistake raising so much of my stack' As someone else mentioned, maybe I should have led the flop, rather than check-raising. There are many different lines that could be taken and I'm wondering if I took the right line. If I'm going to get all my money in against this player, should I have waited for the turn and tried to get the money in ...

Stealing is wasting 2.5BB if someone comes over the top, vs. re-stealing using 7-9BB when you only have 46BB in your stack.

Wow, I'd be super pissed. That's complete BS. First of all, the dealer should have continued to deal, just the same as would happen if the guy went to the bathroom. Second, I would have called for that woman's supervisor and had the ruling corrected. Third, IF they let all that other BS stand, the clock would be reset back to where it was when the shit started. That guy had every right to quit the tournament. The dealer and floor person handled everything horribly. I would definitely write a letter to the casino about it and tell them you'll be sure to let every poker player ...

Re:Card Dead! Need advice on dealing with it?
I agree with you, but what happens in a case like mine, where you go from 46 BB down to 6 simply from folding all those bad hands while blinds go up, or having someone in the pot prior to it getting to you when you had a steal-worthy hand, but not 3-bet worthy' And you're right, the opponents online aren't paying attention. I've seen time and time again where I should appear extremely tight due to all my folding, yet when I try to steal while short, I get called by Qxo from a guy that stands to lose a lot if my hand beats his.

Re:Card Dead! Need advice on dealing with it?
I know exactly what you're going through. I was playing last night and had gotten short stacked. I got lucky and tripled up about 45 minutes before the money bubble. Then I was completely card dead. I went from 46BB down to 6 by simply folding trash hands and watching the blinds increase. Every time I had a hand to raise with, either a 10-14BB stack would shove or there would be raises in front of me by stacks similar in size to mine. I felt like my hands were good enough to steal with, but not good enough to resteal with simply because of the amount of my stack I'd lose if I got any ...
