SnG Power Tools website down? I am having trouble getting onto several poker web sites. SnG Power tools site seems to be either down of being blocked by my ISP Brighthouse. comes back with a "forbidden' error. I recently had a hard drive crash and wanted to re-install the program and use it in my downtime to analyze hands. I can no longer connect to Pokerstars or Full Tilt clients even to play free poker or access my accounts. Anyone else having problems using Brighthouse Tampa Bay ISP' Thanks. Keep the pressure on and join the PPA. Nole91 - you don't have to be a member to make phone calls and send e-mails to your congressmen. Why do you see their stake in an offshore online poker site as a conflict of interest' Maybe if they were jurors asked to adjudicate this case there would be a conflict. Please explain why you see their position as a conflict. haonhack - right on! even if a new organization sprung up it would have to gain credibility before it could get over 1.2 million players to sign up. The PPA may not be perfect but it is the strongest representation we have vs congress. UR also right about we should have ... Posted in: Poker Sites |

Keep the pressure on and join the PPA. The pressure that we have applied to the DOJ, The NY District Attorney's offices, Congress and the POTUS are being felt. We have won a skirmish by freeing our online funds from PS and FTP. Keep the pressure on. Here is an action plan that will take you all day long to accomplish. Instead of grinding at the tables, grind the enemey down with e-mails and phone calls. Here is a link to my blog statement about the repeal of UIGEA. Please feel free to copy and personalize and use as e-mail text to everyone everywhere. Congress and POTUS should get many e-mails everyday. If you can, make the ... Posted in: Poker Sites |

Fortunate to have live action nearby. LOL! Well, I don't use a Mr. Coffee. I make my coffee the Melitta method. Grind the coffee, put it in a cone filter on top of a 1 qt. mason jar, boil water ON THE STOVE, pour, serve, make some more. Posted in: Poker Community |

Fortunate to have live action nearby. Although it is a lot easier to just crank up the computer, open up Poker Tracker and the Pokerstars client and grind all day long in shorts and a T-shirt and have endless coffee on the stove, I now have to get dressed, get ready, drive down to the local card room about 25 minutes away. ($10 worth of gas, $10 to $20 for food drinks etc.). Put my life at risk on the road, I nearly got wrecked yesterday by an idiot driver who snap called a right hand turn from the left lane directly in front of me, claims she didn't see me at all. Put my health at risk. I never got the flu from the computer, but ... Posted in: Poker Community |

The Absurdity of the Donk Mind! You know, if I was asking for hand advice I'd of posted in HAND ADVICE. Dude, it is basic Kill Phil strategy, BASIC, not advanced, and I was playing with it. There is some validity to the strategy as I am amazed by the loose calls I get shoving in the early levels. J-3 is an absurd call. In BASIC Kill Phil strategy, even with huge >30 MP stacks, in an unraised pot, AQs or AQo is a shove from the CO, BU, SB or BB. I have noticed that other players will call with 33, A7, etc. The strategy has proven validity and again it is a BASIC strategy. I was playing a $4/180 not the Sunday Million! Posted in: Bad Beats |

how much can you win/lose playing FL Live It is hard to juggle work, family, poker, travel etc. My best advice to you is to make sure you are open with your family about your poker. Don't hide it because it will become a monster in the closet win or lose. Money is the main reason why relationships fail. Have some heart to heart conversations with your wife and explain your passion for poker. Try to get her involved in the game at some level. If she can support your poker gaming then you won't ever be playing scared to lose your poker BR. Try to get her to be a cheer-leader for you. Poker is not a crime!... Nor a lottery ticket. The Absurdity of the Donk Mind! Just so you know....application of Basic KP strategy early on. I vary my game from standard 3X to move-all-in even at early levels according to KP and KE strategy. No matter, limp-calling an all-in with J3o' Flop was typical Jokerstars. Thanks for your snide remark. Posted in: Bad Beats |

headaches playing live poker...? My hydration drink of choice is 2/3 water 1/3 grape gatorade, if you can bring your own. If not, then ask for water and plenty of it. Def stay away from coffee, mountain dew, coke, pepsi and other sugary CO2 drinks... Excedrin is necessary at times. I tend to get migraines so I always have some imitrex tablets on hand as well. Keeping a Positive Attitude I see from your profile that you've just joined P5s. Welcome aboard. You've come here looking for advice and hints on how to improve your game and, someday, bink something! Right now, you seem to be on perma-tilt and you will never bink anything until you get control of the dragon. Search the forum for posts and articles by, and about JENNIFEAR. If you can afford a coaching session with her, I would recommend that as well. READ and RE-READ her posts and articles. You do need to stop playing and get control of your tilt-dragon. Really, get the book, buy it or check it out from the ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Keeping a Positive Attitude Jennifear says it best. "Make Decisions Forget Results!" This is also the gist of Open Yale University "Game Theory" course which you can find here: / Studying should be part of your day. When I am not scheduled to work my day-job and I have nothing else on the daily agenda and can focus on poker I begin with study. Reading posts on P5s, going over hand histories on PT focusing on hands that I've tagged for review. Taking out my ICM calculator and odds calculator and doing the math on paper to ingrain a better understanding of the underlying mechanics of the game. Also, instead of reg'ing ... An Account of One Poker Career (long no cliffs) OP quote = The best advice, be honest. My poker situation is what I like to call "The Tao" of poker. I am fortunate in that I have a day-job gig that enables me to pay my bills, rent, food, etc. I have a long relationship with someone I love who lives in their own space and is interested in poker for fun and understands my fascination with poker. I am not a winning player yet. I have been keeping track of my HH and stats using Poker Tracker since 2006 and I accept the reality of my game.
