Best poker run good of my life this month.
Back story: I am not a poker pro. I am merely a recreational player, although I consider myself to be an average thinking player. I never have time to play poker with work and school, but decided recently to devote a little more time to playing and see what I can make of it. Before this month, I only have had 1 four figure score back in 2009 where I finished deep in a SCOOP event. I also have never won a tournament other than a 180 man before. But, this month I have had some pretty nice results for my standards anyway. So far this month... 4th in $15k KO with 961 runners for $1,422. Two ...

I was at this table for a while and the reads that I had on the other two players were that they were loose/calling station weak players and your play here was appropriate. Both players also had absolutely no stack size awareness especially jp. He was limp/folding with a 10-15BB stack a lot before he doubled. If I remember correctly, you raised to 27000 and they both folded' It might have been a different hand I was thinking of... but yah, I raise small here and get it in on turn.

Pretty much never folding here. edit: You have 99 on the button in a 6 handed game with 25 BBs and you have been playing super lag. You are so far ahead of his range that I don't think I ever even consider folding here.

PLO question. Is just calling on the river here way too tight?
I've been playing a lot of PLO lately but still consider myself a rookie player and just basically trying to learn the game. The villian in the hand has been playing about 80% of pots so it's so unlikely that he has a 4 in his hand. What do you think' I feel like I played this hand lol terribad on the river. I go out with friends about once or twice a week. Some from work, some are my father's friends kids that I obviously know mutually. Not that I can't find friends, but I don't exactly share a lot in common with them. Most of my co-workers are actors and entertainers trying to make it in the business and I am the complete opposite. I love the people I work with, but it's hard to find a common ground between us. It's not all bad, but it just feels empty. I just miss the friends I left behind, the ones I shared everything and did everything with. Real friends that would do ...

I am tired of living in NYC...
Long rant. So, basically I moved to New York City from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in order to pursue a "higher education" and basically gain some life knowledge and make some friends. I've been here 2 years now. My Father lives here, so I felt I had a huge advantage and also he has a two bedroom apartment so he said I only had to pay a quarter of the rent which was $500 a month to live there. He also helped me find a job as a server at a local restaurant. He put in the good word to the owner who he knew and I was making pretty decent money a week while I am taking classes in ...
