Re:Rankings...to volume oriented??
So the volume debate starts again. One thing which never gets mentioned is it is a skill in itself to be able to grind out huge volume without it being too detrimental to your play.

Re:Double or Nothing Profitability?
Less variance doesnt necessarily mean an increase in ROI. Just have to look at what ROI a good MTT player can achieve compared to a good STT player. MTT's obv have higher variance.

Re:Why double or nothing over simple HU SNG?
Yeah fwiw i dont play them but you have to look at it from the person who plays them view, particularly the bad players. Bad players who have had very little succes will just see them as a great chance to increase their success. Even if they are losing money it will probably be at a much slower rate due to the little skill involved in them.

Re:Why double or nothing over simple HU SNG?
All your points are kind of invalid apart from the reduced rake. People play them because they think they can make money in them, not to get experience for MTT's. They are easier for weaker players to cash in than HU because you can basically fold your way to shove/fold mode which requires little skill compared to seeing the flops/turns and rivers in HU. Aswell as that you don't have to bust anyone which can be one of the hardest things to do in a HU SNG. HU may be over quicker but most people can't multitable that many HU SNG's where as anyone with half a brain could multi ...

Re:Math formula for stars chops?
You have to award everyone the lowest payout available then do the calculation. So for example 5 players left. Everybody gets 5th placed money then the calculation is done on remaining prizepool (minus amount left for winner) based on chipcount. Which is just percentage of chips you have.

Re:fold or call..... anyone?
The reason you have had no replies is because no one wants to read through all that. Try and post a hand history next time and you will get more replies. I think you have to call. You do have to realise that your opponent prob does not put you on an A with your 2 checks. Most likely puts you on a J or stone cold bluff and thinks he can get you to fold. I don't think you can ever fold this leaving yourself only 10BB's.

Re:Silly Spot with QQ
The hefty size of his bet makes me think it is more likely he has 99-JJ. I just don't see a bet this large being a set even on this draw heavy board. I suppose it could also be a double draw of TJs or something similar. Or maybe 78. I think i flat and see what the other person in the hand does as he could easily have a set and there is zero chance he could flat on that board. If you see the 2 of them getting it in for more chips then you can confidently fold. If the 2nd villain folds and the turn bricks which i class as any non spade (except 9TJ) I plan on raising.

Yeah that 2nd hand looks awful but what range do you give the guy that min 4-bets' Is JJ a 3-bet fold there' QQ' AK' Especially in a tournament with a great structure.

Re:hand from 10k wcoop
The issue with this is I am pretty sure the villain does not put the hero on KK. Surely in a tourny this deep it is more standard to 4 bet pre here with KK than to flat a 3 bet. I think it is far more likely the villain puts MrCasino on TT-QQ or AK than KK. With regards to the history of the villain donk betting with KK earlier we can not really read anything into that without seeing what the board was. Was it dry or draw heavy' And if he does that with a KK overpair surely he does it with QQ and maybe JJ aswell as AA on an 844 board. The bet looks more protecting to me than value betting.

Re:Sick spot vs. WhatARunAA in WCOOP #1
The reason the OP is getting bashed so much is because he doesn't appear to be taking on board any of the advice that is being given to him. He just keeps going on about how the fold was good and giving results orientated info to back it up when in fact the majority of advice is about the raise on the flop and not the fold on the river. Raising on the flop against his polarized range as you put it does not make sense because you allow him to fold all the hands that you beat and get yourself in deeper against all the hands that beat you. So just flat the flop and then reevaluate on the ...

Re:did i play it too tight in wcoop?
Obviously as stated limping pre is not the best idea but its not terrible as long as you are only doing it a small percentage of the time to mix up your game and your table has been pretty actively raising after limpers. If this was the case bad luck you didnt get the raise otherwise bad move. If you are limping pre then you have to be willing to fold post flop when the flop is bad for you which you did so I have no problem with that. However, you should not be telling the table you had AA. The only way the table should be finding out you are willing to play big hands tricky is when you have ...

Re:Is being all in pre-flop as a 55/45 fav, on final table of big tourny really a good spot.
You are trying to oversimplify a problem using the above but here is the simple thing you are clearly missing. There is no guarantee that an 80/20 is going to come along anytime soon.

Re:Tough spot vs NEONPILS, FT 50r
If he is going to raise ATC when you limp why dont you limp reraise' His 3 betting raise is probably very wide aswell but the difference is you have no FE when you 4 bet whereas a limp 3 bet can make your hand look stronger and gives you much more FE.

Re:Hand vs Lindgren in the ME, tv table, ugly spot
The QQ hand is kinda meh. If the guys pretty laggy as you say he could easily be opening up with suited connectors and then calling your raise looking to flop big and take out your big pair. I think your thought process in the hand is pretty much accurate in that his overbet mostly represents a big hand looking to get paid by AA/AK that would maybe fold to a straight value bet as it causes you to polarise his range and if you pick wrong..... The only issue is he surely can not put you on as strong a hand as you have as you almost certainly fire out another bet on the turn with KK and surely ...

Re:Waco, what do you think about this?
The difference with that is they are electing to not put chips in the pot to prevent having a tough decision where as you are electing to put chips in the pot to prevent a tough decision.

Re:Waco, what do you think about this?
Please name one. Like i said all you are trying to achieve is not having a tough decision to make. Personally i would rather make a decision which could be incorrect than just throw chips in the pot in hope. Also it is being ignored that it is possible to gain more information from your opponents bet size if he does indeed bet on the river thus helping your decision.
