Definitely agree with your sentiments regarding straps. As for mixed grip do that many people really tear thier biceps using it' It's all myself, a few friends and a couple powerlifting friends use when going heavy. Never heard of any bicep tears as a result of it.

And the line where he says yeah you can go and have fun but your competition is putting in work during that same time span has become my mantra, now that I've decided to compete, whenever someone says "oh just one/one time won't hurt ya". Official 2012 OT Workout Crew Thread
You can get cut/lose bodyfat without losing weight. I've put on 22lbs (180-202) over the last 6 months while dropping 3%bf (13-10%) On another note I went to my first fitness comp, wbff central championships, and it was way more awesome than I expected. Definitely gonna be competing next may here in kc.
