Re:the backing in high stakes mtt is pathetic I think it would be like comparing playing pool to snooker, with MTTs being pool and cash being snooker. It is much more likely for a snooker player to be adept at pool than the other way around Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:deep in 35k on FT....14 players left...whats best move What about the times when your opponent hits the flop' Then he is getting the rest of your stack in as a big favourite. Unless you plan on folding when you miss the flop which seems even worse given the opponent. You should take a situation where you get AQ vs J8 for stacks every time. If he plays this bad then his chips wont be his for long. You have to maximise your chances of getting chips off weak players because they are easier to get than off stronger players. The reason you are raising in the 1st place is because you think you have the best hand and you want to build the pot. If you ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:What to do with KK on a 557 flop....? i think this is a really easy fold. You put a near pot bet on the flop representing an overpair, you get min raised and then the BB (whose range is HUGE here) shoves. You could be beat by both hands here. Bet less on flop, then let it go Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Case where we SHOULD break the 'rules' and fold flopped set early in SNG I have to admit that I sometimes go against my read just so I can prove to myself that I was right. How ironic is that'! The problem in these spots is that if you fold you dont get to see what he had, and I know for me that these things can niggle at me for ages cos Im thinking "I folded bottom set, it was a good play...was it...what the hell was I at...Ill get the bastard next time"...tilt tilt tilt and therefore -ev for the session. If I call and lose, Ill think "I knew it, fuck Im good!" = confidence = better session In otherwords, if its any way debatable, get it in ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:A 150BB deep hand to get advice on. I think the deeper the stacks are, the less you want to be playing oop with any hand. Position is vital when stacks are this deep. Unconnecting cards like a8 lose value when deep as well which is why it is fine to raise hands like 67, 68 etc in position. When you flop big you can really get paid off and lose little in relative terms if you dont. At early stages of tournaments I usually play passively oop with everything but AQ+, 1010+, even AQ isnt great. I just think position really is that important this deep. Hope this helps Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Reloading Time Banks, Plz Stars? I just dont get why sometimes after the 15 secs or whatever it is, your hand is folded and sometimes it goes to your timebank. Why not just always fold the hand if you dont click the timebank button before the 15secs is up'! It completely tilted me playing a rebuy the other night when I missed a hand after the break trying to get a bite to eat and found myself with 0 seconds bank. I then have to rush decisions because I know I only have 15 seconds (that would be ok if I knew I had more time but for some reason when you know its not there you start freaking out!) It makes it worse that you ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Tough spot with QQ, what to do?? I think its quite close, I dont think he shows up with less than 10 10 here at all, I suppose the big question is if AQ is in his range. Bump since he ended up taking 2nd for a nice 4k score after a gruelling HU battle! GG and WP! Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:How to play AK here? (Preflop + postflop) The general level of help in this site bewilders me sometimes. I dont really know what a post that says "lol" is meant to achieve' I wish I lol'd at the 5bet shove by SCT with KQ or whatever it was now. Some of the other reasoning is just plain bizarre.... Anyway, even though shoving pre is the best option its not really that great either. And no-one considers folding after the flop even with a cbet into 4 other players' Had to stick it in though as planned... *** FLOP *** [Kh Tc 4h] RZRZRZ: checks delfino74: bets 1595 benjyyy: raises 2645 to 4240 and is all-in pilemup: ...
