Re(9): Ban Imper1um I wouldn't think you would need to penalize anyone in the rankings if they're banned from a site for cheating, especially if it's Stars or Tilt, since not being able to play the site will drop them far enough in the rankings alone--take Imp's FTP or Stars scores away for the last year and would he be ranked' If they want to post, I don't see why they should be banned, because if a ZJ or JJ or Imp wanted to share strategy or thoughts on a particular hand, it would probably be very beneficial to about a 99.5% majority of members of the site, cheater or no. But they should certainly be removed ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Foxwoods/Atlantic city Games On a weeknight at Foxwoods there may be 2 tables of Omaha Hi/Low at low limits. This game is an ATM. There's a guy who always wears a Party hat they all call Omaha Bob. As you might assume, don't play many hands against him. There's a big fat (Orka-fat) guy who goes there who is funny to talk with and a pretty solid player. Otherwise, it's locals who are either 1. drinking or 2. the worlds-greatest-grandma sweatshirt crew. There is an old couple who have been there 3 of the 4 times I've played O8 at Foxwoods and they're both ATMs and they both have to be told by the floor not to eat at the ... Re(2): Full Tilts Sunday Schedule I think you're a little satellite-happy lately with the Hendon, FTOPS, Sunday 500k. I had the same feeling Thursday afternoon of this week. If I didn't want to play a sat or a rebuy I only had a couple tournaments to choose from in a 3-hour span. I know you've got big guarantees to meet for FTOPS, but I think the freezeouts are suffering for it. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): H.O.R.S.E advice..(mainly tournies and razz) I wouldn't check the 88k8 hand because you don't want to lose a bet if villain checks behind. If he does this, then your bet on 5th will prob. price him out anyway. Also would not bet the max with this hand on 4th because you risk not getting any action on your set. I'd just bet the standard amount and keep leading on 5th, 6th. Only time I would bet the max is if the blinds are high and my stack is short in a tourney and I'm hoping a big stack who's been aggro will look me up with a big pair, two pair, or chasing. Or if I'm the big stack and I want to push around a very small stack who is on ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): 25 People Left...AK...What's your play You're way ahead of the maniac's range here. I'd call and hope the early raiser folds, which he'll pretty much have to with anything less than KK. You could be a slight underdog to a smaller pair (likely), a huge favorite to AQ or KQ or AJ (very likely) or a big underdog to AA or KK (not quite as likely.) I'd get it in, you have to pick your spots, but I can't see a better one coming. If you have the maniac dominated you're probably going to more than double up. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): Did I play this right? A really good player would fold the overpair if OP shoves. Against one opponent maybe not, but in this scenario he's not putting anyone on j7o. He would have OP on any two before seeing the action on the flop, but after the betting, and after OP has called the all-in (but esp if he shoves), jamiemartin would have to put the two of them on weak hands or big draws, and going against two others with just an overpair is not going to be +EV. Say he's up against Ad3d and 9cTs. jamiemartin's EV is only 0.413, and the suited ace is the favorite with his overcard and flush draw. A push could get a ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): whats up with hit and running on full tilt? yesyesyesyesyesyesyes another good point. Buying into a 100NL table with only $40 will only improve your preflop game, you have zero room to cbet, fire another barrel on turn, or make any kind of post-flop play. You don't need to worry about having the chips to bluff at low limits, because anything $50-max and down bluffing is almost always a horrible play (aside from cbets), but you do need the stack to learn to play a complete game. great point CFH. Re(2): whats up with hit and running on full tilt? Thanks, the most important thing I wanted to stress in my post, though, is this: "Well, Phil Ivey does it..." is NOT justification for someone at low limits, without his experience and skill set, doing the same. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(12): whats up with hit and running on full tilt? If you're playing at a very advanced level like Ivey, Benyamine, sbrugby et al, you are playing against very tough, thinking opponents who are considering stack sizes and implied odds on every single hand. So, for one of them, in a game that tough, to buy in short, can be a good strategey--it cuts off the implied odds your opponent is getting and changes his way of thinking about every hand. By forcing an opponent in those games to think about the hands differently than they typically would, if both were deep stacked at say 100BB, you are causing your opponent to have to think outside his ... Re(2): FTP Doug why won't tilt help players?? 1. They have never failed to reply to an email I have sent within 3 days. 2. FTP provides full hand histories, they save directly to your hard drive. 3. Beat to death on these forums. They're working on it. 4. Recent problems due to the addition of rebuys and payment processor additions. Additionally, has been a lot more reliable than UB. 5. They're here, again beat to death. 6. Turn the avatars off then. Re(4): Majestic star casino indiana Yeah, but the players there suck too, so it's worth playing the cash games. the 1/2 $100 max NL is Charmin soft--I've had nights that I make 4 buyins in 2 hours but also nights where I lose 4 buyins in 2 hours to bad beats, so patience has to be a virtue you possess when your AA loses to 34o, KK to Q9o, etc. The rebuys blow, the first hour is a rush to get your chips in and double up, if you have not at least doubled in the first hour you're in push/fold mode a little bit into the 2nd hour. The Rockford Charitable Games, which is a travelling local game, is better IMO, the tourneys are a ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

I'd be grateful for the # of times they have said yes, more than upset about the one time they said no, and if you have done this several times they may have a certain limit as to how many times they will break the rules for you. Re(1): Headed down to the Majestic Star...tips? 1/2 NL is very soft, 3/6 and 6/12 limit are both even softer. Rebuy tournaments are crapshoots, you just have to hope your hands hold up the first hour because the blinds are high enough after the 1st break that you'll be in push/fold mode if you have not chipped up huge the 1st hour.
