I mean, to be honest, I'm precisely the type of douche who would wear something like that to try to eavesdrop one people's convos (not at a party tho, since my social retardation isn't THAT alienishly bad, just regular-bad, but, if I was just out and about at the mall or something, I'd totally be down with eavesdropping on some motherfuckers lolz), with my voyeur obsessions and all, however what I simply can't ever forgive is how bad that dude's acting ability was. I think the first commercial I can remember making a hate thread on was the enhanced hearing commercial where they had these terrible actors wearing the device, and they didn't know how to act, so they would just stand there eavesdropping on various convos from semi-far away and would do this extremely awkward head-nod while smiling to indicate that they were actively listening to the convo, like, to make sure that the viewer would understand that they weren't merely just standing there not listening, but rather, were actually intentively listening so hardcorishly that it somehow necessitated ...

Yea, I def hatethreaded about that one a while back, but this one pisses me off like 203492308293 times as bad as that one ever did. And it's not just the recency effect or anything either, this one just somehow managed to be even worse. McCoys coming across pretty cunty in this miniseries imo. So far, other than the Hatfields being a little bit assholic before the feud started with the money issues/leaving early (which he pretty much made up for by being all heroic tho in that one scene during the battle, so who gives a shit sorta), the McCoys have been the ones being unfair/assholish, and the Hatfields have just been reacting fairly to whatever new assholic thing the McCoys decided to do. Personally, I would enjoy getting to eavesdrop/spy on those types of situations even if I never did anything with the info. I gain pleasure/fun/enjoyment from spying on shit that I'm not supposed to know about. I have always been this way. I think some people are just wired in such a way that they enjoy hearing/seeing secrets, and can't really explain why, they just do, and others are wired differently and don't really get any enjoyment out of voyeurism in general. You probably fall in the latter category, whereas I fall in the former category.

Well, I granted the ability for all animals to speak when shrubbery requested it a few posts ago, but immed regretted it, and am now considering disallowing it in retrospect. However, regardless of this: you still might be able to communicate vocally as some of the animals, by figuring out how to manipulate the mouth/tongue/etc to make very weird but somewhat coherent speech (notice the debate going on directly above for example). I def agree that other primates wouldn't be able to talk in a normal sounding voice, even with a human brain, since their vocal chords/voice box is totally different, but, with a really fucked up rhaspy/weird/mispronounced type of "voice" (grunts/growls being manipulated into very weird sounding, but theoretically coherent speech using the mouth/tongue/lips that are similar enough to ours) I def think it would be possible. Yea I've been debating about whether or not to grant the ability to talk in normal human voice regardless of animal choice or not. If I don't grant it, then we miss out on cool prank opportunities such as the ones described above, but on the downside, it would also make the housefly that much more unfairishly sick of a choice (since one of its major downsides was not being able to communicate with people very easily). Yea, like 5 mins after I made the thread I was already kicking myself for forgetting about bears. That def would've been on my list if I had taken a little longer to remember more cool animals lol.
