i have no idea if this idea will actually get off the ground, but i thought it would be worth throwing out there. it seems like there's far too much drama/bullshit in the online mtt community, especially compared to the few times you hear about good stories. a lot of us (myself included) lose sight of how fortunate we are to play a card game for a living, and end up being far too concerned with the things that should be seen as less important in the long run. i was thinking about ways to do some good, both in the mtt community and in general, and thought up the idea of organizing a ...

well idk you can really assume cripser has kk+ until he jams over two raises so that isn't particularly relevant. against solid players you should be jamming your entire range w/ 13 bbs unless there's some kind of weird metagame going on.

fun thread i was HU with cunningham in a 5k circuit event starting with a 3.5:1 CL. couple hands in i live misclicked and bet 200k into a 170k pot instead of 100k. ended up pricing me in to his shove, i doubled him up and he proceeded to own me until he won. difference from first to second was 250k. also lost ak < kt aipf for the chip lead at a wsop FT with 6 left, ended up finishing 5th :( /obv brags

all things considered, it'd probably be +ev to just shove any two until you bust/double up around the time you'd need to leave to get home for the online mtts assuming your equity is large enough on a tuesday night. that doesn't necessarily mean you should go to the bellagio with that as a plan, but it might actually be the right thing to do in a $500.

under the assumption that nobody is flatting your utg raise with a speculative hand (which is probably fine since you're talking about a tight table), you're turning 77 into a bluff by raise/folding. would you open rags here as a steal, ever' probably not, but that's essentially what you're doing with 77 in the above scenario. either everyone folds and you win the pot (good), or someone raises and you fold (bad). your cards don't matter. in this scenario, i'd rather open with a2o because at least you have a blocker to potential big hands behind you. in contrast, ...

raise/folding w/ 20bbs is fine. in theory its necessary to balance your range so that you're not simply shoving the low end and raise/calling the high end. not to mention that there are plenty of spots where raising is +ev regardless of your cards and you can obviously fold to any further action. it's obviously useful to protect a ~20bb stack for resteal purposes, but not at the expense of passing up significantly +ev spots. the caveat is that if you have a reputation for opening light with that few bbs, it becomes much easier for people to exploit you because they're not risking ...
