Weak Lead is so the new Check Raise Been out of the game for a bit, so if this has been discussed exhaustively already I apologize; but has anyone else noticed how the new standard/weak/whatever play w/a flopped set is to weak lead (replacing the good old check raise push)' I attribute years of TV coverage where everytime a pro bets out a made hand the announcers say what a strong/pro move this is. NYC Cardrooms I moved out of the city about 5months ago, and it sounds like the scene has gone pretty bad since I left (judging by the amount of people i recognize at the borgata I believe it). That said, i'm going to be in NYC this Thurs--Sun and was hoping to find a game if there were still any going. WHen I lived in city I used to play at Gene's club, then Straddle, and once played in one of Eddie's games. If anyone knows of any games please PM me w/info. Much appreciated. Mandalay Bay decent Cash games? Headed to Vegas in a couple weeks and wondering how the 5/10NL games at Mandalay are (cash games in general). Played at bellagio in past and thought games were good, but I'm lazy and will be stayin at Mandalay and would prefer to play there if games are good. Any feedback appreciated... Re(1): What did Lodden have? there's an article w/lodden about this hand. It's on here somewhere if u search for it. He pretty much says he had a weaker ace, dont' know if he was just sayin it or what. But it's a good read nonetheless. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Most you've won/Loss in one session (Cash game) live or online 10k in 2hrs on 5/10 NL Bodog. Sat w/500 and left w/ 10.5k. It was a crazy run. Took about 8 of the 10 grand from one guy (was heads up or 3handed most of the way) Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Online Limit Games Rundown Article??? There was an article a few months (maybe 6) ago that discussed the different limit games available and the types of players to expect to find at them. I think Beanie wrote it but i may be wrong. I tried searching articles section and contributing writers but couldn't find it. Could someone help me out here' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): 10/20 at commerce I would've folded the river. Also, seems like your read on UTG +2 as a player is off if he's raising 4x w/33 from that spot. Just my 2 cents. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): 2/5 NL Cash Game Hand Advice Wanted Thanks all for the response. He turned over KK for the better boat. Made me feel good about the call at the time. Though i wonder if i'm giving up value in the long run. The guy was an average solid player though, who seemed to be the type to play good cards (eliminating Ax from teh rpeflop call, though possibly AQ). My thought was just that if he had AK he repops on turn, and so that left me thinking he had AQ , 1010, QQ, AA, or KK. (i elminated the hands like K10, Q10 etc. cause he just wasn't the kind of guy to call the reraise out of position w/those). I figured why expose myself to a ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): 2/5 NL Cash Game Hand Advice Wanted graps, thanks a lot for responding. Sent you PM w/results so as to encourage more responses here. For what it's worth, the guy was a decent player (though one who likely thought he was better than he was--aggressive sunglasses, ha). He seemed to be playin strong hand for the most part. Re(1): Top Pair/Top Kicker cash game situation... What would you do here? i call and see his rxn on the turn. Admitedly, I'm not playin these smaller stakes, but in my experience his bet is top pair a lot of the time, and a set some of the time. I call and see how he reacts on the next street. I don't know what kind of player this guy is, but is he capable of leading w/the set' Most people at those stakes are not--another thing to keep in mind when evaluating his hand. If he's aggressive as u say, i would think he woudl've repopped preflop w/JJ, QQ, KK, or AA. I honestly woudl've put him on like K10, Q10, or 910, and only slightly scared of the set. I don't feel ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Big changes from Bodog Personally i think Bodog should raise the table minimums. Too often i come to a 5/10 NL table and find at least 4/9 stacks to be under 250 dollars. It's a joke in my opinion. Also, why is it that when playin 5/10 NL you can only bet in increments of 5, but at the 3/6NL tables, any bet size goes' i find that weird. Oh yeah, i also didn't appreciate getting 2 outered 3 times in an hour last night for a combined loss of 5600 in pots. Oh well, variance is a biatch. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Live Play Question smart ass comments from a few posters aside, you played the hand just fine. Her play definitely looked like a flush draw, and if you just check the turn (soo passive) you're left in the dark for the river if she had put a big bet out there. Once she calls the turn and the river comes blank I like your check because no sense leading out if the only hands she could have are a missed draw or a hand that beats yours (a slow played big hand). By raising on the turn, not only are you trusting your read and punishing what you thought was a flush draw, but you're gathering info as well--If she pops ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(6): Small Wins, Big Losses First, i agree w/wmmcl about the min raises. I think this is the biggest flaw in the way you played your hands and got you into a lot of the trouble that occurred. Hand 1) I personally am popping that preflop, but that's me, in position i dont' hate the smooth call by any means though. You recognized yourself that an all in bet was the wrong play. Like you said, much smaller bet accomplishes the same thing and gives u a way out. Also, i'm not sure what u ended up getting beat by (don't think u said), but if it was an A high flush draw it's possible u brough him in by betting all in. I've ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Bodog... Beanie, after months of reading your posts about Bodog cash games I made the switch over there about a month ago, and it was everything you promised. I absolutely love the site. Question though: Is there any chance that Bodog will be adding 6max and heads up tables for the 2/4 NL games' As best as i can tell they only have 9person tables for this level.
