Re:Another Tax Question?? You are not supposed to simply claim your profits. You claim any amount that you have won and them itemize your losses. Sure, they may not have your SSN and will not report to the IRS what you have won. However, the penalties for not reporting properly, if audited, are much worse than actually paying the money that you owe. Simply, you should pay your taxes. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:BODOG REALLY GIVING THE PLAYERS ON THE YEARLY NOTHING THIS YEAR... If anyone deserves to be rewarded it is players like you, who have stuck by Bodog over the years, playing large volume (by Bodog standards) and promoting the site. I hope that Bodog does restructure the TLB prizes. I am just tired complaints that Bodog is not PS/FT, and you never intended for the thread to head that way. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:BODOG REALLY GIVING THE PLAYERS ON THE YEARLY NOTHING THIS YEAR... Bodog is not an ultimate failure. It is smart business, whether you like it or not. They cannot compete with FT/PS, and trying do so would be a waste of money. It would be like Calvin Klein trying to make athletic apparel and expecting to compete with Nike or Adidas. This is a drastic example, but you have to understand Bodog's situation. I understand that a lot of people wish Bodog would become another PS/FT, but there are probably folks who would love to get a pair of Calvin Klein sneakers too. It's just not going to happen. Re:BODOG REALLY GIVING THE PLAYERS ON THE YEARLY NOTHING THIS YEAR... We all need to quit comparing Bodog to PS and FT. Bodog has realized that there is market segmentation when it comes to online poker. There is a segment of players who love to gamble. Bodog caters to these gamblers who love poker, the sportsbook, and the casino. They are not trying to compete with PS/FT, they are managing their segment of the market. If you're complaining, it's probably because you're not in the segment that they are ultimately focused on. The beauty about it all is that you can be a leach that hangs onto that segment, and why not' That's where the easiest, ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:BODOG REALLY GIVING THE PLAYERS ON THE YEARLY NOTHING THIS YEAR... Bodog isn't going to lose a lot of players next year due to a "weak" TLB reward system. Poker players can threaten to leave a site as much as they want. The poker rooms wear the pants in the relationship; they have what you want. This is evident in Absolute still drawing 21,000+ players to the tables today. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:rank these NFL WR's T.O. - more TD's than Holt and Ward combined. Hall of fame. Randy Moss - 2 years ago everyone said he was done. 31 TD's 27 games later. Hall of fame. Harrison - After such consistency, injuries may have taken their toll. Still a HOFer. Holt - Borderline, he's not a first ballot. Hines Ward - And it's a shame, because Ward may be my favorite player of the 5. He's just not that flashy of a player. Toughest guy in the NFL. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:Fantasy Football Ethics? The reason I would do this has nothing to do with the money. I'm a very competitive person and simply want to win the league, just as a 14-1 team in the NFL would bench their players. It is a little different, but NFL teams do this to gain an advantage in the playoffs. However, since it is a work environment, I can see how the other 11 people in the league could look at it in an entirely different way. I guess I don't want any of the 11 people thinking that I'm a dick. From the poll that I took by this post, at least a few of them will. It's just not a great career move (and ... Fantasy Football Ethics? I am in an office league. Currently I'm in 2nd place, of 12 teams. This league has very rare settings that promotes people to join a reasonably expensive league in an office that doesn't know EVERYTHING about football: everyone makes the playoffs. The nice things is, the top 4 teams get a well deserved bye. My question lies in the fact that one of the better teams in the league has been very unlucky and is currently sitting at 5th. This is a team that I would rather not play in the playoffs because he has the potentially high-powered combo of Cutler-Marshall, Westbrook, Santana Moss, ... Posted in: Off Topic |

But in this situation: year 1: +200k, pay 60k in taxes year 2: -100k year 3: +100k, pay 30k in taxes year 4: +300k, pay 100k in taxes year 5: -150k year 6: +200k, pay 60k in taxes year 7: -200k If you are treating poker as a business and filing taxes this way, wouldn't you be able to use the losses in years 2,5, and 7 as Net Operating Losses (NOLs) carrying them backward 2 years and forward 20 years. Re:Good bye PS hello bodog?? Attacking Jester is completely ridiculous. As weakone wrote, all Jester does is post facts. Jester has been a long time Bodog player and is obviously a Bodog fan, as am I. There is nothing wrong with supporting a site that has amazing customer service and satisfies quite a few of its customers. Of course, everyone is not happy and there are things that Bodog can improve upon. Jester is not saying that Bodog can't improve, nor has he ever said that Bodog is the best venue for online poker. Jester has not said that Bodog desires to become the next FT or PS. Actually Jester has said that ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Pokerstars Malfunction? (all in scenario) I don't believe that 50% means anything to this hand. The only time that a player cannot raise in a situation like this is if he raised before the guy pushing an incomplete bet moves all in. Example: After SB and BB post. UTG raises. UTG+1 reraises all in, however does not complete the bet. The SB and BB have the option to reraise as much as they would like (as long as they complete the bet, obv), however UTG does not get this option when the action comes back to him. BPO #5 LIMIT WARNING!!! Bodog seems to have a problem with limit games. I just tried to play a Bodog limit tournament to check things out and... The bet does not increase on the turn and river. In a normal limit game the bet on the flop is 1 BB, turn and river are 2 BB's, correct' In the Bodog tournament then bet is always the size of the BB, never increasing. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): Clarification Bodog BPO Main Event Sattys running this week I'm sure it's just a mix up at customer support. He has no reason to make this up. Bodog has always paid in T$ and allowed the user to register for the tournement.. I'm not sure how his misunderstanding started, but with Bodog support replying to me the way that they have, I will play them all. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Thank you very much for writing. Should you have any questions, or require any further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us. Regards, Poker Customer Service Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Ur play with 99 here? Blinds just 20/40 and looks like you have already gained some chips in the early stages. I drop the hand right here. My reasoning: With no reads what range do you put him on this early in a tournement' I would have to say that he's not going to be raising with a pocket pair smaller than yours. He also shouldn't be doing this with anything less than AQ. If you call here how are you going to play this hand postflop. If you hit a 9 it's very easy, but you are 7.5 to 1 to flop one. If you don't hit a 9, are you check folding' I guess this depends on 2 things. If the flop comes clean (all ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
