Favre vs. Ripken Who's streak is more impressive?
Peyton is 2nd alltime behind Farve I believe, and Farve's streak is 50% higher than Peyton's, though Peyton is still going. Ripkin ended about 25% above Gehrig in 2nd place. I'm leaning towards Farve but its close, and if Peyton gives him a good run it could change my mind. Both are sick though.

Deadlist Catch Captains Tour
So Sig Hanson and the Hillstrad brothers from Deadlist Catch came to town tonight. I hadn't heard anything about it until my friend called me and gave me a pair of tickets she couldn't use. I'm a big fan of the show but even if I had heard about it prior I doubt I would have considered paying for tickets at $35/pop but damn that was a good time tonight. Had $3,800 stolen from my checking account
I live in upstate NY and a couple months ago someone got ahold of my debit/checkcard # and did something like 43 transactions at Gas Stations in NYC in like 4 days before they drained my account for about $4k. One person I talked to at bank said something like 'oh another one, we've had this happen to our cards a lot this month..." I had all my money back about a month later though.

Hypothetical drug addiction question
Had a discussion with a friend, wanted to see what OT would think of this situation... I've read that your body can get physically addicted the first time you do meth or crack. What do you think would happen if you somehow got someone to take these drugs for the first time then somehow made them forget about it to the point that they had zero recollection that the 'cravings' or whatever they had later were for that specific chemical' I don't really know what the sensation of being addicted to drugs is, so I have nothing to compare it to. Cig smoke is also nasty but I'd rather smell that than weed. And to me, it is disgusting. Just cause you like the smell of your farts don't mean it isn't disgusting to someone else. Unless you are a girl and your farts smell like cinnamon buns and rainbows.

Heh, don't live in Ithaca anymore but yeah you can't spell Ithaca without THC. I don't really think I'm overreacting. Its strong enough that I constantly am aware of it while they are smoking. Its just a nasty, thick smell that sits in your nose and won't leave. I don't own any smelly candles but I doubt it would be covered up by a candle or something. Note for potheads: If you burn a candle or incense after you smoke it doesn't fool anyone. Just smells like vanilla pot now.

Basically what the title says. I live in 3rd floor of 4 floor apt builidng (its pretty big, 50 apts total). I don't smoke but don't have anything really against pot smokers as long as their smoking doesn't interfere with my life. However I am allergic to all types of smoke and also think pot smoke smells disgusting and distracting. Every night for the last week or so my apartment starts smelling like pot faint at first then stronger. After 20 minutes or so it smells just like when you walk into someone's room who had finished smoking a few minutes prior. I thought it might be coming in from ...

Just found 24 8-tracks; worth anything?
My first car was a 1980 Buick Riviera, came with a factory installed 8 Track player. This is/was newsworthy because I got it in in the year 1999. I used to drive to school rocking out to an old Metallica 8 Track that I found somewhere. Good times. As for the 8 Tracks with very few exceptions supply of tapes is much higher than demand and the price bottomed out a long time ago.... thanks eBay!

Yeah, I don't know. I know very little about drugs, but they said he was arrested under that statute and nowhere on it does it mention ephedrine. This is the only mention of meth related stuff under the law: 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, its salts, isomers, and salts of its isomers or 500 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine, its salts, isomers, or salts of its isomers; I don't really know what he had that fell under that if it wasn't epedrine. Also interesting I thought... 50g of meth = same punishment as "1000 ...

Did a little research. The law is written out here, and it says that if he had 50g or more of meth or its salts or isomers which I think ephedrine counts as, it is 10 years to life. If he had 5-50g it is 5 years minimum sentence.

When I found out this morning and did my initial search there were 2 articles on google, now I find like 10. This is from one of them: Federal prosecution was accepted under chapter 21 of the United States Code, section 841, "Manufacture, or possess with intent to manufacture, distribute, or dispense, a controlled substance." Additional charges may be forthcoming after the investigation is completed. I'm no lawyer but that don't sound good for him..

Thats what I'm expecting too but you never know anymore. He lives with his brother who owns a house, and I guess they served a search warrant there. If they find a meth lab at the house can the state take it away' The last time I saw him was February and he was acting a little weird but I didn't think too much of it. Looking back he might have been tweaking a little bit and his facebook pics look skinnier than I remember. Maybe its just for personal use, but then again is it ever JUST for personal use' meh.

A few years ago I was riding a bike on a sidewalk (standard in small town where I grew up). Not going very fast at all when somehow my shirt got caught in my back wheel. Not sure how, my shirt wasn't long and I had a guard over my back wheel like most bikes do. But in one motion I came to an instant stop, my chest was slammed onto the handle bars and I did a flip over top of them. My bike was launched in the motion a good 10 feet in front of me. Landed on the top of my head and it cracked my helmet and probably saved my life.

Risking your life savings on a coin flip
Maybe you heard about the guy from England that sold every one of his possessions, cashed out his bank account and took every cent to Vegas and bet it all on Red on one spin of the roulette wheel. He won and doubled his net worth. What sort of odds would you need to do what he did and sell all your possessions, and risk all of your money in a complete game of chance... coin flip, cut for high card, etc. I think I personally would need at least 90% chance to win to take the bet and even then getting broke would screw up my life enough I might not do it.

When I went to Cornell I made a couple grand going dumpster diving for textbooks at the end of each school year. I'd watch the recycling bins and dumpsters of the expensive apartment complexes and find kids throwing away like 5 or 10 textbooks in one shot. Turn around and sell them for $50-100 each on Amazon, easy game.

I miss Trent and NIN... at least I got to see NIN once before he was done. He announced a stop on his final tour about 30 minutes from my house but then the venue made him cancel it like 3 days later. I was so freakin pissed. I like the music but not the lyrics of this. Maybe because I'm so used to Trent doing the vocals.

My friend did this with his system. Bought a $75 external harddrive, installed some software off a memory card somehow (the details are online) and then signed up at a Blockbuster down the street for a week of unlimited video game rentals for like $20. It only took them about 5 days to copy every Wii game blockbuster had straight to the harddrive so they could play directly off of that.
