Re(1): Adjusting play to beat typical low-limit SNG players. do you think this works mostly on normal sngs or can it also be applied to turbo sngs' I'm currently playing the 1-table $5 sngs and I'm experimenting with scott fishman's tactic from "online ace" (super tight early and push or fold once you reach a stack with only 8 BB or the bubble). sor far I've had pretty good results with it ... but to get a first place you have to play an hour or longer - so it's pretty much a grind, even if you 4-table. therefore I'm currently thinking about: -) switching to $5 turbos -) playing $10 sngs any thoughts' btw: thanks for the "don't limp on my shit ... Re(1): how to play the $3R yeah, that makes sense. and that's what I always tell myself after busting out (as right now *g*). it just seems so frustrating to loose over and over again without making any big mistakes. maybe the buyin is also to low for me ... I've satelited into the sunday million twice and cashed in both of them. I also played in 2 ept satelites (after qualifying for them) and had quite good results too. it seems like I can play good poker at tables with only 1 or 2 fish than on tables FULL of fish. if I just had the bankroll to move up in limits :-) Posted in: Poker Discussion |

how to play the $3R I'm curious .. how do you guys play the $3R (especially the rebuy phase). do you sit, wait for monsters and go all-in preflop. are you rebuy nuts and go/call all-in even with small suited connectors' I've played it now a couple of times in the last 1-2 weeks and I don't see how you can beat it. it doesn't matter if I wait for premium cards in the rebuy phase because I get sucked out so often or loose the coinflips because it always is a family pot with +3 players in it. I can't seem to accumulate more than 6000-8000 chips until the break ... and often I'm in for $20-$30 .. sometimes I just ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

limit is fun so far I've played around 300 hands at 0.25/0.50 limit. I got 2x AA 2x KK 1x QQ 2x JJ 1x 1010 so far ALL got cracked. and I'm talking about pots with only 1-2 opponents. AA got cracked by K10o and K3o. JJ by 310o. KK by 34o. also my straight got beat by a flush. and as I wrote this post I got JJ cracked again. limit is fun. Posted in: Bad Beats |

Re(1): deep in a 3 rebuy... how did I do with qq? hey timzc1 ... I played with you yesterday in this tourney for some time. you are quite good! as for this hand....I would have simply gone all-in. you have an M of 10 which isn't great. you are looking for some chips without having to pull off some tricks (you don't have the chips to do this anyway). there are already 39.000 chips in the pot .. with the raise of flabberguest there are 89.000 chips. you can increase your stack by 20%!! with QQ you really don't want to try and milk some donkeys who are looking to flop a K, A, straight or flush draw. if you really want to raise, raise more. ... Re(1): A challenging Math problem 50% I've written a small C++ programm. I let player A and B both throw their coins 100.000 times, compare the number of heads and calculate how often player B has won. The more I let the players throw (I also tried 1.000.000 times), the more the percentage of Player B's wins go to 50% I've done this with 1:2 coins and also with 1000:1001 coins. The result is the same .. if you throw often enough, Player B wins 50% of the time. I'm still looking for an error in my sourcecode because I can't quite believe it :-) Posted in: Off Topic |
