Where to Play Only 4 decent places to play tournaments--Caesars, Venetian for mid priced buyins and Bellagio and Wynn for higher buy-ins. These are the only casinos with levels long enough that the tournament doesn't turn into a shove and pray contest after a few rounds. The players are NOT very good at Caesars and Venetian. \check out Posted in: Poker Discussion |

After 2 weeks and several lies, they have not paid out proceeds Truly unreal. First they sent an email saying I was receiving $209 representing my buy-ins. Then after several calls and emails, they said they were still investigating. Then they send a new email saying my $209 was actualy $159 for my buy-ins and the last $50 was my share of the prize pool. There were 120 players in a $109/50 rebuy/addon. Based on average buy-ins, the 108 eliminated players would have bought in $200-250 a piece. At $200, that 21,600 in a prize pool for eliminated players. While I was low stack, its inconceivable that my pro-rated chip count of the prize pool would have been ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Prima Network Refusing to Refund Cancelled Tourney??? Guys a scary thing may be happening on Prima. Last Monday, I played the 20,000 Guarantee rebuy. The Prize Pool exceeded the guarantee as there were 120 entries. With 12 of us left, the site went down and the tournament was cancelled. Ok. That happens on all the sites at times. Prima was slow on responding, promising a refund within 24 hours. Finally today, I was advised that I was being refunded ONLY my buy-in but the proceeds from the eliminated players, it appears, are being kept by Prima. This violates their tournament cancellation rules which follow the standard protocol of pro-rating ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Online games play for WSOP seats How can you ignore that' Thousands of online tourneys give a WSOP or WPT or similar entry as a prize. So it "counts" when you win one of those entries but how you do at the event doesn't count' Sorry no dice. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Rizen's WSOP Should Affect Ranking There was a thread the other day where someone mentioned moving Rizen up based on his WSOP play. Adam indicated that wouldn't be a factor. It should be. Every online room has tournaments where the winner gets a WSOP placement. The WSOP is what its name implies --the World Series of Poker. Its the playoffs. The post season. Guys like Reggie Jackson and Bob Gibson made their claim to the Hall of Fame in part based on their post season performance. Barry Bonds, before his steroid issues, was knocked because he did nothing in the post season. Rizen did very well in the big time--at the ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

That matters as does class Rizen, as a well-known online player, placed very highly at a WSOP event against some very famous BM names. That should be a factor. That's clutch play in the ultimate post season. If you don't think that counts, then Reggie Jackson and Bob Gibson would have lost quite a few HoFame ballots. It should also be factor that Rizen is as classy and humble of a kid as they come. Determinative. No. But factors yes. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Troubling I have read a little about the pokerspot debacle and Boyd's response that there processor withheld funds seems plausible. But it certainly was a black mark on online poker. You are right Sheets about the law. As an attorney, i too can confirm that Boyd as a shareholder and officer of an entity has no legal obligation to refund money lost by the corporation. Legalities aside, I do not think he even has an ethical obligation. A corporation is separate from the individuals who own/run it. Customers of a corporation know they are dealing with an entity and should not expect its ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Popup Windows Slow Reconnect aaairgh! Am I the only one who gets pissed at paradise, RV, party etc automatically loading a popup ad window that you MUST close down before you can proceed to your game. Getting disconnected at the worst possible moments is a hazard of online play. It happens to us all. And you anxiously reboot, reconnect whatever to hopefully get back to your game before your time expires (or you miss another hand). And over half the time, after waiting for a good connection, usually after rebooting windows and then getting the poker software to load....you are confronted with some obnoxious popup that you have ... Curse U Guys Who Posted That on Tilt Video I have watched and howled at that video of the crazed guy cursing about his bad luck playing the party cash games..... But G** Dammmit. I used to roll with the punches and rarely went on tilt when I lost. Now every time I lose--even stuff like qq to AK even when I don't flop a set on 66...I find my voice sounding like I smoked one too many cigarettes (and I don't smoke) and start cursing G*d Dammmit...Can u believe that....I never catch a break.... You guys have destroyed my serenity. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Billy do u really question this hand? I read the adam thread above and saw billy reference this hand and thought what type of hand did Bax get all his chip in with a5suited vs qq on.... then I saw the hand' Billy do you really question the play here' Bax would have been a fool to play any other way...and one thing Bax is not is a fool. and on some table talk bitchin about others' play...part of the game. And for some it has a strategic value too. Lots of guys don't. Classyploppy does it as part of his game and I am convinced its not to be mean...it affects the play of people. And sometimes, its just being pissed. Thats ok too. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Its what happens when a dyslexic guy flops a set and loses to a runner runner flush draw who calls his all in. The dyslexic player slowly loooks down at his keyboard and confuses the H, which is just past the F and types HU as he goes out of the tourney. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

I agree Duff and that's why I recommend Classy He plays a fairly consistent tight game. And he narrates by blistering folks for what he thinks they did wrong. I think watching bax or schnorkus without commentary by him could make your game worse. He is brilliant but he plays a complex game that varies situationally and by player. Classyploppy Watch him and learn. For someone attempting to learn, you could learn a lot by watching him. Schnorkus/Bax is a great player but I also think he plays a more complex game--he will do things that surprise and he will play hands that are not easy to understand why he does so without an explanation by him. Imo, you could wind up picking up bad habits by emulating his play without having a much better understanding of why he does what he does. Classyploppy plays a pretty straightforward fairly tight situational game. By situational I mean he adjusts his play based on his position, stack and the ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

IF its happening, my theory why If you lose a hand like that, it sticks out in your memory. You filter out the 50 normal hands and recall the bizarre bad beat. By "bizarre", I mean the hand where the player had no business going in. If its happening more--and I'm not convinced its happening a lot more, there is imo a couple of logical reasons. One is exactly what Wachovia suggested--misinterpretation of Loose aggressive play. But I think there is another reason. Its a reaction to the prevalence of the all in shove by top players. Better players imo recognize that a big shove is a very powerful tool and it bewilders ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

$1000-2000 a day When I play seriously, I invest somewhere between 1000-3000 a day. Even on bad days I will recoup some of that with at least finishing in the money so the major swings are about 1000-1500 a day. But you need to have a top 5 finish 1-3 times a week to consistently cashflow. Sometimes I only multitable 1-2 tourneys. This keeps your costs down and you play better by watching the other players. But its boring. Other times, I will have up to 5 tourneys going, but my play definitely suffers. When I play 1-2 at a time, its closer to $1000, closer to $3000 when I multitable. Dise gives away $19000 in 15 minutes-Oyster Wow. If the Dise cancellation notice is accurate---big if, they cancelled the tourney but prorated the guaranteed 30,000 prize among the players left after 15 minutes. I was in 21 and will get $313 for a $100 investment and 1st gets over $4100. Something tells me they will correct that but right that's what they are doing. 19,000 overlay! Plus they gave me a free registration to the next Oyster...thx Dise!! Posted in: Poker Discussion |
