Re:help with AK in 30r I've noticed a lot more min-raise/folding taking place in games and personally I probably make it 5-6k and then call any jam. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:college and poker what the last guy said, except I get depressed that I'm only goin to pass 6 hours this semester. It can be done well, tons of ppl do it, but it requires taking a hit on the social life, and not having a job (both of which I enjoy very much) Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Is this a set mine??? I can see a fold or a call being ok here. I mean I set mine here sometimes, then other time's I may fold just to preserve my tight image. But that's just my style, but def. nothing wrong with set mining here every once in awhile. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:$5 sng 3 players left; AUTO SHOVE HERE? meh jamming may be a lil spewy, but it's prob what I do. Although on second thought I might just bet out 800 and fold to a reshove. I think the pot is 1400ish right' yeah I bet 800 and then check the turn if he called your flop bet, and be ready to fold on the river unless you hit your straight on the turn or river, in which case I'm still checking turn and hoping he bets out the river. Re:SNG ? I just started receiving some 6-max coaching myself, and have been grinding them. Sng's have more bad beats than any other form of poker so you're gonna have to get use to it, it seems especially when your CL 3-handed, I mean it's not like a 9man where 3 ppl get paid. You gotta get another person out, and bad beats are bound to happen. Here's what I just started tinkering with, got told by my coach that this tool is invaluable. / If you haven't tried it already, go download sng wizard too. It's got a 30-day free trial, just use quiz mode TONS. And make sure to set up ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:ICM It's possible that your friend isn't playing as many tables at once, and is able to think about decisions more. People that multitable big time, use ICM because it gives you only a few decisions to make, because stack size, position, and starting hand determine whether you push or fold, no complex post flop play really. ICM, doesn't suggest slow playing or trapping. And it's shown to be a profitable strat over some very large sample sizes. And Sng wiz will transform your game if you don't understand ICM. It's quiz mode and how easy it is to import your whole sng ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Switching to 18 mans Just curious was to what changes need to be made in strategy when switching from 9-mans to 18-mans. Particularly when it gets to be 6 handed at both tables and then down to 5 handed also, that tends to be when I'm leaking a lot of chips. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and I'm the push/fold type, play tight until blinds are high so if you can keep it in context of that strategy that would be amazing. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Bubble Boy in 45 Man SNG Thats an insta shove all day long, and I'd be happy to see him call with AQ, you just got unlucky that hand. Keep on making those moves though. You ask if there is any way you could have gotten away from it''' why would you want to get away from 10s vs AQ near the bubble and with your stack, you're thirsty for some chips here. These sng's will make you feel more suicidal than you thought you could ever be. hahaha. That's just my guess i've decided to watch one and see AK beat my KQ, 10s beat by 67o. hahah the bad beats forum is gonna get overflowed with hands from these things. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

10s10h > 10c10d Look I know this probably belongs in bad beats, but I'm actually wanting someone to tell me the odds of this happening, unfortunately the table closed right after this hand so I can't post a raw HH, but It's a pretty simple story. I make a call to go all-in and we both end up having 1010, and well his 10 of hearts ends up hitting 4 hearts for the flush. How often does that happen' Posted in: Bad Beats |
