Re:2/4 NL Agreed for the most part, mainly due to the stack sizes. My thinking at the time was that he was stacking off regardless of the turn. Because of this my implied odds would be huge, as I would be calling $200 to win a pot of $1800 or so (would need 11% equity to justify the call). Given that assumption I thought it was a reasonable call considering I hit my flush on the turn about 16% of the time. If by chance he has kk he slows down on any ace turn, and will likely pay off some sort of river value bet due to my loose image and the fact he can never really put me on ak in that spot. 2/4 NL Here's the situation: * 6 handed * hero is on the button ($1128) * villian is in the sb ($810), laggy but very low squeeze percentage * tight player is utg ($777), 10% PFR, less from early position Tight player raises to $14 utg, I flat from button w/AKd, and villain squeezes to $68 (assuming a range of qq+, ak but not entirely certain). UTG calls and I call. Flop comes: qs 9d 3d ; villain pots it for $208. UTG folded, I called. Turn comes Js. Villain goes allin for $536 into a pot of $670. I fold after tanking. Interested to hear people's thoughts on how they would play this on ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:1/2 NL - Was this a donk shove on the river? I'm thinking the same. He's not the type to call an utg raise w/810s in position which is why i thought his range was polarized to the middle pairs (6's to 10's). I didn't think he'd make this move without some type of straight draw to go along with his pair or a set. I think my main mistake might have been on the turn. Given my read would it have made more sense to checkraise allin on the turn, and was I giving him good odds to draw to the flush on the river' I'm definitely shipping on the river if I check to him so that's kind of unavoidable. Thanks for the ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

1/2 NL - Turn and River play: Which mistake is worse? I've played with this player a number of times. He's usually very solid, but knows I'm aggressive. I put his range on 66-1010 considering his raise on the flop and bet on the turn. Was my raise on the turn correct, or was I giving him too good of odds to call taking into account our relatively low stack sizes after' After his call was this a donk shove on the river by me' Stage #960405783: Holdem No Limit $2 - 2008-04-17 23:42:51 (ET) Table: WEST COVINA (Real Money) Seat #2 is the dealer Seat 2 - IAMMAVERICK ($424.20 in chips) Seat 3 - HOTSEAMS ($435.45 in chips) Seat 4 - TONYATA ...
