I think the current situation in Massachusetts shows us that we need to be on guard at all times. Governor Patrick is as liberal as they come, there is basically no Republican Party in the state, and if the casino bill passes as currently written the state will have the most draconian online poker regulations in the nation and may be the one state that actually tries to enforce the laws on the books since the bill creates a sure to be hack-riddled Gaming Commission with nothing else to do. In Mass, apparantly this fine gentleman is throwing us under the bus.

Uglyowl brings up a good point: what is the PPA's view on joining forces with the anti-casino groups and working to kill the whole bill' Have there been any conversations with the umbrella anti-casino group' In a vacuum I prefer casinos in Mass, but Id rather they not exist than chance what ends up in the bill on internet gambling in a negotiated bill with a House Leader who hates gambling. Plus it could act as a potential deterrent against other states trying this BS in the future.
