Re(2): PWNED!!! From Wikipedia Pwn is a slang term that implies domination and/or humiliation of a rival. It sprang from the similar term "owned" and is used primarily in the Internet gaming culture to taunt an opponent that has just been soundly defeated Probably the best way to put it... I think the thing goes on to say that it originated from someone trying to type that they owned someone.. but missed the o key and voila, pwn... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Live Poker in Atlantic City! hey i dont know what level you plan on playing if you play some sng's at the borgata, but they are a pretty fast structure, almost like a pstars turbo. But the play is awful in general so i would imagine them to be pretty profitable. a lot of donks in the cash games in AC though. Lastly if you want to play MTT's i highly reccomend the showboat because the structures are slower at the lower buy ins. just my .02 on AC. good luck have a blast. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(4): The UniverSe good point, I am off by a little (or trillions or whatever ;)) there, what I mean to say is that the odds of life occurring is about 1 in 1 *10^58 (this is akin to getting AA 26 times in a row!), whereas the number of planets is about half of that at 8.25*10^20. (sorry) You're also right that there could be life thriving at -200 degrees or breathing methane, but from what we know here where life is definate, there are requirements for life that must be. If these are changed then life could be abundant in outer space, we just dont even recognize them as life. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(2): The UniverSe interestingly enough, and I dont mean to get too serious (esp. in OT) but the odds of life forming on another planet are actually quite small... considering an accepted probability of life forming on earth is 1 x 10^-58 (or 1 in 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000). On top of that, the fact that life formed on earth to begin with needed a few things. The planets are all on the same plane, if this wasnt true... no life. The sun is approx. 11,000 degrees, +-50 degrees and no life. If the earth was a slight be nearer or farther from the asteroid belt or the sun, no ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(8): IM GLAD MICHELLE WIE IS HURT DW, i agree with you, she has dominated those majors. And someday she will be better prepared for the PGA Tour and as far as the popularity of tournaments on the PGA Tour is concerned she is good for the game. Right now though (barring her wrist) she is still not even close to the level of the PGA Tour. for the record, I am not glad she has hurt her wrist, that is mean Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(3): IM GLAD MICHELLE WIE IS HURT She has made a cut in a mens event, in ASIA!' who cares... Brian Watts, who you never heard of before but is from America used to be one of the better players over there, finished high in the british open one year and has been forever lost trying to make it in America. she has won very very few golf tournaments compared to other girls her own age... granted they are playing AjGA events, She gets NO money to show up at a PGA Tour event as the PGA Tour does not allow appearance fees. she is sweet and nice. Re(1): Questions.... Play Chip (funny money) vs. Cash Tourneys? And a brag... sort of... Yes it did help youre game. I'm certainly not the best player in the world but coming from my own experiences in other games, I have found that even when things don't matter as much, in a game like poker where experience is detrimental to success, all of the experiences are helpful. The play is different in a play money tournament, yet you still learn from going deep in a tournament and learn how to play later in tournaments. If you switch to real money games you will certainly have to make adjustments but the experience you have is certainly worth something, even if its just the confidence ... Re(10): Who's more dominant? Tiger or Federer? I'm a little nervous (First OT Post!), I think its hard to compare the two, Federer dominates his opponents in a way that Tiger can't. He destroys them on a daily basis. The only thing that Tiger has going for him in my opinion is this... to win a tennis tourney Roger must go about 7-0 and win 2-4 matches against unranked opponents. Tiger must to 143-0 and beat at least 15 of the top 25 in the world. So I would say that Roger is more dominant, but Tiger has a tougher sport to be dominant in. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(2): Pokerstars Tournies Pretty sure the idea behind the 180's and 90's is for people who want to play mtt's but cant play a scheduled one. They might not be able to because they want to play nl holdem and at certain parts of the hour, stars doesnt run these. They might not hvae the roll to play $10+ mtts and therefore play a $4.40 180 man. They might not have 7 hours to spend playing a $3 mtt, but a 180 man will last 4 hours or so and they do have that time. They are only called sit n goes because once they fill up they play, these are mtt's with sit n go registration. Maybe there should jsut be a different name for ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Strategy for a longer blind schedule depending on what the blinds start out at, this structure is actually probably faster than an online sng,In "The Poker tournament formula" (its a book by arnold something or other, good read) the author has determined that for every 15 minutes of blinds online it is equivalent to 25 live, so 20 live is more like 12ish online. I would play this closer to a turbo sng than a regular sng. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
