new brewcrew hustle
As a Brewer fan, I hope you are right....but as a realist, I dont see it happening. Let's be honest here, other than Gallardo who has been excellent, who do you trust to throw 6 or 7 innings a start' History says no one. They have been pitching better lately though. Over the past 12 games, the Brewers are 7-5. In the month of June they are 2 games above .500. Oh, and to say if they pick up a pitcher (highly unlikely) they will be one of the most dangerous teams in baseball is laughable.

My experience today...
I was on the phone with my brother...we were both screaming at the top of our lungs like little school girls and I was jumping around. Such complete exhilaration. I am so jealous of people who were there in the stadium. Did anyone else have a quick moment of despair thinking that somehow this goal would be disallowed for something stupid' And then I turned on and watched an hour of the epic Wimbledon match before I had to go to work. What a great sports day!

Pizza stone recommendations?
A couple unglazed stones work and are cheap. Quarry stone and terra cotta (saltillo is popular). I have been looking into getting some and have done a little research. They must be unglazed though because of chemicals used.

Wow...there might be a revolt here in Wisconsin if that occurred. Instead of going for a 2 hour drive, why not drive to the local tavern and purchase a 12 pack from them'

Re:Lending Tree
I will be this summer. I was shopping a bit earlier at the beginning of the year. I got in touch with lending tree and my mortgage company, Bank of America. The assessment I got through lending tree was 12-15k more than BOA. I was looking to pay off my 2nd mortgage and combine into 1 with a lower rate. I was short and the person who worked with me suggested waiting til summer when the market and comparables picks up. I was contacted a month or so ago and we talked. If anyone has any advice or people to go thru, let me know. Rates are almost back at historic lows and eventually will go up, so ...

Re:Ke$ha
I would say that would be true if the discussion focused on education and she vaguely answered it. Rather, I think these are more just interesting tidbits about her life that werent meant to be very deep. Near perfect sounds better than 1500 on the SAT. She went to Cold War college classes sounds more interesting than listing her GPA. I found another quote from her on her website. When Ke$ha was 17, she quit high school, “which was crazy because I was enrolled in an International Baccalaureate program and was going to go to Columbia University and study psychology,” she says, “but I ...

Re:Ke$ha
Who said anything about music talent' I just said she is apparently smart. You basically said smart people dont drop out of HS. I showed you someone who seemed to take his studies pretty seriously who dropped out of HS after his sophomore year. I am not saying it was or wasnt a good idea...just that it happens. Actually perfect on that SAT would have been 1600. I would imagine that even if I showed you her actual scores you would say someone else took them for her. Whether she sounds like a moron doesnt matter...maybe it is a facade, maybe she is just book smart, who cares. Show me ...

Re:Ke$ha
Bryce Harper dropped out of high school after his sophomore year. He is now at the College of Southern Nevada. "Harper, an honor student in high school, earned his GED test credentials and was excelling at CSN while recording a 4.0 grade-point average." Though bright and academically minded (by her account, she scored a 1500 on the SAT and planned to study psychology and religion at Barnard College), Sebert was quickly convinced by Gottwald and his frequent collaborator, Max Martin — of “...Baby One More Time” fame — to drop out of high school several months shy of graduation in ...

Re:Ke$ha
I dont particularly like her music, but it is catchy and the lyrics are typical of teenagers. Apparently she is pretty smart....and writes her own music. "When I was in high school, I'd come home, and for fun we'd write songs together," she says. "I wrote every song on this album. I always knew it was what I wanted to do. ... I never believed in having a backup plan." With near-perfect SAT scores, for her, a backup plan was never out of the realm of possibility. As a teenager, Ke$ha had a strong intellectual curiosity that extended beyond the music ...

Re:Advice Needed - First Time in the States...Tour of the West Coast!!
In restaurants 15% is standard...20% is not uncommon. At bars a dollar or 2 for drinks. In Vegas, tip everyone basically. Poker, dollar + for any pot worthwhile. $5+ for a big pot. $20 sandwich to the front desk if you are looking for a small upgrade like a better room, late checkout, view, some matchplay. Cabs I usually give around $5 but I am not sure what the prevailing standard is here. Win a poker tournament and give a small % to the dealers. I definitely take service into account here. Bellman get a couple dollars as well. Cocktail waitresses get at least a dollar. I know I am ...

Re:My truck died today... (car financing question)
Your credit union is a good place to start. Get an idea from them what the loan terms would be...3-4 years, % rate, etc. I would then shop around to some banks. Finally, dont forget about dealer financing. They can get better rates based on volume and other agreements with banks. Something to remember with dealer financing though. The rate they quote you is usually inflated a bit and the car dealership makes money on your loan. That can sometimes be negotiated lower. Always have a couple options going into the dealer. I have no experience with capital one/ BOA car loans. Good luck!

My dad does this when he is golfing!!! All of a sudden he will be facing the woods, hands out to his side, slightly leaning back. He looks like he is getting a blowjob from a cart girl who came out of the woods. My brother and I are constantly joking about this.

Re:Vacations in Italy - west coast, advice needed
I went to Italy a few years ago. I spent about 2 weeks there split between Rome, Florence area, and Venice. I want to go back and visit other places I didnt have time to stop at. If you like history, Rome will obviously be great. So much to see and experience there. The Vatican is amazing if that is your sort of thing. The Vatican also offers Scavi tours which are the burial grounds beneath St. Peter's Basilica...very interesting. In the Florence area art is all over the place (I am not an art person and I enjoyed it). I took day trips to Pisa and Siena which were no more than an hour ...

I think the half hour yesterday afternoon may have been the best golf I have seen. So many great shots and so much excitement. Cant wait for this afternoon.

A couple I have shown...Radio and October Sky. October Sky is definitely kid appropriate and I have to think PG...about a couple coal miner kids who enter and win a science contest. They build rockets. True story. Cant go wrong if you havent seen it. Radio might be PG-13 though. True story again if you havent seen it. Kid who is mentally retarded is befriended by a coach and school community. Bunch of good lessons in both.

Re:Rick Reilly is a crybaby douche
As a high school basketball coach, I completely agree. There is a difference between winning by a large margin and running up the score to an extreme. You dont have to press the entire game. If you are that much better than the other team it serves no purpose and doesnt help you. I would bet their practices are more competitive than some/most of their games. Get the kids conditioning then. I would hope that beyond teaching the game of basketball, coaches teach more important lessons that will benefit the kids throughout life. Respect the game. Coaching like this WILL GET YOUR PLAYERS HURT, ...

Re:The future of teaching? lol
As a teacher, this is particularly disturbing to me. To call a kid a loser is completely inappropriate and to do it repeatedly is inexcusable. If you dont like kids get out of teaching and dont ruin it for others. Find a better way to motivate (if that was his reason) instead of belittle.
