Live 1-3 NL hand--appreciate your feedback
I folded. River was 10d. V1 showed 9-6 of spades. V2 showed queen high spade draw. I still have to think fold was correct.

1-2 live hand @ parx
he may fold to a jam on the turn. I'd bet 75-80 on turn with intention of getting him to commit entire stack on the river.

Online poker and indian reservations.
my take is that the tribes have a lot more power/sovereignty in Canada than they do in the United States.

Live 1/2 hand-was I not ready to play?
I'd say live 1-2, his call-flop, lead turn usually means he is holding either K-J or maybe A-J or 4-6. Most live players at that level are going to check-call the flop, and then check-raise the river with a set. If that happens--95% probability that a one pair hand is crushed with 5% chance of air-bluff.

oh boy not this again...DOJ is onto merge, article link inside
I would be extremely surprised if that website has any reliable source within the Justice Department or FBI that would talk to them about any ongoing investigation. The Justice Department may very well shut down Merge at some point, but if they are they aren't talking about it. That is just not the way they operate.

OK-unabashed brag post
Saturday, August 27--Irene bears down on northeast--montly $280 buyin NLHE tournament at Mohegan Sun Pocono Downs in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA. 81 entrants, and I chopped three ways for $4386 each. Biggest live score in 10 months. GG me. Never once was all-in, which after reflection may be the best accomplishment for me in this tournament.

getting a job as a poker dealer
I know one thing to keep in mind that is in many states, if you are a casino dealer there are restrictions on where you can play. Dealers in Pennsylvania casinos cannot play poker in any casino in Pennsylvania. I know a lot of the dealers at mohegan sun in Wilkes-barre are always driving to AC (3 hours) to play.

Interesting Live Hand, Looking for input
I don't see any big mistakes here, except on the turn here, I'm trying to start building a pot by betting a little less than half the pot, because any Ace is calling and any 8 is at least calling. In a typical 1-2 live game, a lot of other random pocket pairs are calling as are heart draws. On the turn, i'm thinking I have the best hand and want to bet--but in any event, you're going broke here. its a cooler-shake it off. I think effective stacks here have to be at least 150BB before you can start thinking about backing out the hand before stacking off. If I start with less than 150BB, I'm ...

low stake live poker MTTs suck
i find the horrible structure is usually balanced by the fact that usually nobody but 2-3 players in one of these has a clue on how to play them.

North Carolina Players... Harrahs Cherokee Casino
Used to play pokerpro tables at Boomtown in Shreveport. I liked them for speed, accuracy, no tipping, sanitation (no dirty chips and attendants would disinfect play stations after a user left). I was in the definite minority, and the room got very little traffic and closed.

Full Tilt Disconnection Issues
Screwed me out of some 6 man turbos--six tabling and screen froze, by the time I rebooted and reopened FT, I was down to a few hundred chips in each-so definitely cost me some money. It was the day of a new update download and install. Since then, I haven't had the problem.

Scranton, PA poker scene
Got the news today that I'm being assigned to work in Scranton, PA for at least the next six months. What is the action like at the Pocono Downs poker room' What is spread' 1-2 NL, 2-5NL' I heard that there could be long waits for a seat right after the PA rooms opened. Is that still the case' What are their tourneys like' Is there anywhere else to play around Scranton or is Pocono the only room' Do you have to pay for drinks' I saw there is a Ruths' Chris there, so that is already positive EV.

anyone from oklahoma??
I was assigned to Oklahoma for work July-2010--January 2011, and played Riverwind tourneys often. My record was similar to yours. The Sunday tournament usually pays decently well also. I only found one kid about 22 who played regularly who seemed to have a clue. It shouldn't take long to figure out who he is. As with most of these things, most of the players play too loose early, and too tight late. You'll see people limping into pots with 5bbs behind, or calling a preflop raise with 7-10 bbs behind. Very easy to put a whole table on tilt by 3 betting with 6-4 offsuit and showing your hand ...

It seems like FT could spare us all these discussions if when they closed an account they would at least refund the original deposit (assuming that a bot would have a positive balance.)

good vegas daily tourneys?
Venetian nooner consistently gets more runners than Wynn and Aria if that is a consideration. I've played both Venetian and Wynn.....both are above average for daily tournaments in terms of structure.
