Re:interesting 1/2 nl hand whats your play?
I don't mind a reraise pre to about 60-65 if the initial reraiser is aggressive. If he's really tight this is an easy fold pre. as played Fold flop. Do you use Tracker, and PAHUD' What is the reraisers raise % pre'

y do you say this''' I worked in accounting for 4 years, am a CPA, and left it to play poker fulltime...I 8 table 2/4 NL and make not good but GREAT money, and its amazingly consistent......am I smarter than the next guy who play poker...ahh no....do I work harder and smarter than a majority of yes...........its a case by case situation..but your blanket statement makes no sense. if you follow good bankroll management, have good tilt control, and treat this game like a business....you can be very successful

Re(3): Pavlik vs Taylor
awesome fight!!! I've become a pavlik fan since his destruction of Miranda...the guy hits like a train, its unreal, Jermaine had the flashier punches, Pavlik had the Thuding harder shots...............I dint want Pavlik at 168, I think he would get picked apart by Calzaghe, who is 10 times the boxer Taylor is (not as good an athlete though) Pavlik vs either Sturn or Abrham would be what I wanna see.

Re(3): MTT variance insurmountable?
i dunno know how you guys handle the swings, I use to play lots of tournies, but not anymore, honestly everyone has gotten good, 3 years ago no one was good except like 3 guys lol........I play cash 2/4 - 5/10 nl now, and it is they are very comfortable games for me, bankroll and skill wise...........I think unless your an elite tournament player you should switch to cash games.......I use to be like many of you and and think cash was boring, especially grinding middle limits, there is not that excitement of winning a tourny.......but then at the end of the month when I look at my profits, ...

Re(3): Last night's live game (long)
hey adam, great read, definitely keep playing that game if Mike is there....and if you feel uncomfortable splashing around 2k with him buyin for 1200 or 1500. Your going to be playng much stronger starting hands against him, and with you having a smaller stack he will have less implied odds when you are raising and reraising big, and he calls with junk. As for your example up at the top with kk......in position I would raise to maybe 450, 500, and slightly more out of position. From there you'll have to trust your reads, you don't want to get busted with 1 pair for 400 bb's. What are people ...

Re(2): Shannon Shorr...
I have never met Shannon in person but he is always a nice guy online... ...I use to play singles with him all the time back in the Party days, and he was a big winner. as its been said so many times "you will run worse than you could ever imagine"........life as pro can be so tough, thats why the mental part of the game is just as important as any strategy.

Re(5): Question about being busto
theres no set guidelines, it all depends where people are in there life...........there are many 18-22 year olds who are in college that have hundreds of thousands online and only like 20-30k in savings...mainly because they take no money out and just keep going up in levels as there roll increases. They have no repsonsibilities so going busto is not as big a deal. for me, playing for living, I obviously don't do this......I probably have somewhere around a 10-1, savings to bankroll ratio.

Re(6): Hopkins/Wright
I agree with the post saying that the average fan would not be that into this fight, but I am a huge boxing fan and I think the fight was about as good as it was going get, noone was getting knocked out, and for 36 and 42 fighters at least they let there hands go a little. the undercards were awesome......Katsidas is the new hard punching Gatti. Around the 2nd or 3rd round you could see Katsidas backing away a little, and searching for that something extra, and man did he bring it. So impressive.

Re(5): Going pro?
You need to be making more money to play fulltime. Frank, do you multitable online'' Learning to 4-5 table online will dramatically increase profits.........especially at the 1-2 level where even the regulars are not that good. Ive been playing cash games fulltime for 7-8 months now, and even though like everyone has there ups and downs, multitabling significantly cuts down on variance

how many tables you play for cash games??
Just started playing 8 tables after buying 2 30 inch Dell monitors... (ok semi brag :)) I use to 5 table comfortably, and I use to run at a vpip of like 20 with a PF% of 17, but now I run at 17-14. Anybody else increased the number of tables they play, and intentionally or nonintentionally started nitting it up''''' Im doing really well playing eight tables, so maybe its what I needed....play more tables, spew less.
