Re(1): To Much Bankroll talk
Peace, I admire your approach, to a point. At some point your going to have to conform to math-based BR management or go broke no matter how good you are. I like your approach if youre starting with $150 until you get to maybe $2k. Then you might wanna think about managing cuz you cant advance indefinately on the path youre describing.

Re(1): Confidence
Confidence is a wierd thing. It can make you money or lose you money. I assure you I am not tilted and still confident. But I experience small pockets of tilt every time I get caught bluffing or coolered or no action when i have the nuts which is the recipre for downswinging and no different than what im going through this minute. Any advice (besides taking a break)'

Re(1): Confidence
Tho my BR doesnt warrant it, im not moving below .25-.50 cash or 2-4 tabling $22 SNGs. Right now the thought of playing SNGs repulses me, so I'm going to play some .25-.50 games on stars. However, should I avoid making high variance plays postflop' Or should I just play my normal style even when I'm on a significant downswing' What do u guys think'

Re(1): Confidence
Peace, i respectfully dissagree. Losing 5 or 6 BIs at .25-.50 is not uncommon, especially on a Sat. when variance is lible to be higher. I'm a winning player (slash CR/PXF subscriber) who is just looking for some insight from cats who have recently cbeen through concentrated downswings also.

Confidence
Say you are a confident player who has a BR of $500 and has grinded it up to $900 playing $11 and $22 SNGS and .25-.50 NL. Your plan is to play cash exclusively once your BR reaches the $1000 mark. However with your BR at $900 you play a .25-.50 NL session that depletes your roll back down to $600. What would be your next move BR building wise and how would you deal with a possible loss in confidence' Thanks, Bruce

Re(1): Making money in the $100-$200 bankroll range
the 4.40 180mans are one of the best bankroll builders imaginable imo if your a decent shallow-stack mtt player. but from the sound of things you should probably be playing a lower variance game like $5 regular sngs.

Re(1): $50 grinders
limp a lot pre. even oop with your a-x suiteds and suited 1 gappers. players in these games will go broke in limped-pots so see as many flops as you can, but keep your pf raises to a minimum. post-flop: bluff sparingly and value bet thinly.

Re(1): Any successful poker players ever lose passion for the game and just quit?
Prop bet your way out of it: Go out and find yourself an hourly wage job. Bet a bunch of your friends a bunch of $ at 1-0 that you will remain at this fulltime crap job for at least 3 weeks (that you will not get fired or quit within that time). I guarantee you by day 3 you will have a new perspective on your life as a poker pro and will want to run back to it as quickly as possible + by the time 3 weeks is up you'll be refreshed and ready to play. ps. the universe is expanding, polar bears are stranded on melting ice, and starving children in sub saharan africa find that during the sunday ...

Re(1): Why Play Tournaments??
Cash players talk about fun, glory, and adrenaline as if these things have no value. Life is short and you have to enjoy it. I'm a winning mtt and sng player and while your hourly rate is higher I'm probably having a lot more fun than you (while still making $). Look, we all know cash games are pure poker. I think cash is just so different from tournie that the deciding factor of which game a particular individual will play basically comes down to the personality of the individual. Cash poker never ends. You never know what your going to win or lose that day. Mtts are so much more contained ...

Re(1): New bankroll for MTT's
my advice to you on this subject would depend a lot on whether youll be trying to actually manage the $50, or just sample a couple tourneys before redepositing. if you want to kind of manage the $50 and want to get your feet wet in mtts I'd suggest the $4.40 180-man sngs on stars. The players are terrible but at least you dont have to wade thru 9 million of them like you would in a similar buy-in under the "tourney-regular" tab. If your just trying to sample some tournies play any of the "Guarantee" tournies on stars. They start you with 3k in chips. Also are also $11 and $22 buy-in deep ...

wow, PS really is out to get lilholdem, he was killing edog then all the sudden, loses straight vs. boat; 2 pair vs. 2 pair; than they get it in pre his a10 vs. edog's 66, the flop comes ace high, and then running 6s nuts
