Pokerstars issue We have been investigating an issue which has been causing lag for some players. It seems that the issue was related at least in part to the dynamically-updating pay tables, and these have been turned off until such time as we're 100% sure that the issue has been fully addressed. In the meantime, if anyone reading this is still experiencing abnormal lag, it would be helpful to us if you would send your log files to assist our developers in isolating this problem. To do this, simply follow these instructions: 1. Open the Main Lobby 2. Go to Help 3. Go to Log Files 4. Select "Save Log Files ... Posted in: Poker Sites |

MicroMillions Feedback Request Thread Hello all, We've been cooking up a new series for a while now, and we're ready to show it to our players and see what people think before we set it in stone. This series, called MicroMillions, is set to play in March from the 15th through the 25th. It's squarely targeted at providing a ton of opportunities for micro players, with an overall total guaranteed prize pool of $5,000,000. Almost all of the regular schedule will remain intact, with the exceptions being the Saturday Splash and Sunday Storms during the series, which will receive higher guarantees than normal and run as special ... 2011 World Championship of Online Poker -- Tentative Schedule The 10:00 ET and 14:00 ET events on Sundays replace the Warm-Up and Million, respectively. In the case of the Warm-Up replacement, it's pretty much always going to be a $215 freezeout. There may be room elsewhere for more rebuys (not guaranteeing anything), but that doesn't seem like a good spot for it. Posted in: Poker Sites |

PokerStars -- Site Update Issue We are still looking into the problem and possible solutions -- note that this was not caused by a new update. After the problem was discovered, an update was released to fix the issue for some players; it does not break anything and there are no new features as part of this update. Unfortunately, the update does not fix the issue for all players and for now the best option is to re-install PokerStars from the PokerStars web site. Posted in: Poker Sites |

PokerStars -- Site Update Issue UPDATED: We have recently updated our software and in order for the latest version to work on your system, you will need to do one of two things: 1) The easiest way to correct this issue is by setting your computer's date back one day (to June 23) using the "Time Settings" on the bottom right panel of your computer. You can then run your PokerStars software as normal, as you will receive our latest update. You can then reset your computer's time back to normal. To change your system time: 1) Double-click on the time display (normally bottom right-hand corner if you are using a PC and top ... Posted in: Poker Sites |

Petition for Stars - more Mid Stakes freezeouts! It's being read, as are pretty much all threads having to do with our tournaments. We don't reply to all threads, but it's a safe bet that we're reading most. As it happens, our tournament schedule is being upgraded/cleaned-up/etc and will be changing significantly shortly after WCOOP... so now's a particularly good time to provide feedback about changes you'd like to see. Stars??? Hello, everyone. The site is now being restarted to deal with the problem(s) reported in this thread. We cancelled all MTTs from the time the decision was made until the time of the restart, and will deal with the tournaments which were still running at the time of the restart once we return to normal service. We apologize for the inconvenience that (rare) events like this cause. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

2010 World Championship of Online Poker -- Tentative Schedule Typically, Saturdays consist of a ton of satellites to the next day's giant NLHE events, and I expect that will be repeated this year. Also, there are many of the weekly majors on Saturdays. Sunday is by far the biggest day of the week in online poker. The major events currently on Sundays would be much smaller if they started on Saturdays. Day 2 affects less than 5% of the overall tournament field (in some cases, much less than 5%). We will set the guarantees at a later date. There is a 1R1A NLHE event at 12:00 ET on September 15th. This was something we discussed, but judging from ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Compliments to stars for the DEG!!!! It's worth noting, by the way, that the tournament just ended. A duration of 13.25 hours with 6,700 people is why this wouldn't be a good replacement for the Million's structure... it'd go much longer with another 3,000 people (and more chips, as well). It'd also go much longer with 5,000 chips instead of 3,000 chips. Some tweaking is in order, I believe, for this tournament. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Compliments to stars for the DEG!!!! The current structure is at least twice as deep as the old structure would be with 5,000 starting chips. Changing the new structure to use 5,000 chips would make the tournament far too deep (and would be inconsistent, besides). Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:petition for the micro million run again DEADLINE SAT 20TH Hello everyone, We discussed the Micro Million tournament in a recent Poker Room Management meeting. In the end we decided that it’s not really sustainable as a regular tournament (weekly, monthly, etc.). The overwhelming success of the Micro Million had a lot to do with its placement in the F40 (40 Billionth Hand) promotion and its “special event” status. We certainly intend to have promotions in the future, of course, and when we do it’s entirely possible that such a tournament will return. Having said that, I think it’s great to have a weekly mid-stakes tournament with a huge prize pool. ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:DON steps followup - saw someone elses post - thoughts on this? Bryan is this even possible? As my colleague Mike has pointed out in email from time to time, anyone can run their own Step system of this kind anytime they want. For example, let's say you want to get to the Saturday $320 NLHE tourney without using the Steps.. 1. Play (and win) a S&G satellite to any of the $11 tournaments which have satellites to them. 2. Using that $11, play (and win) a S&G satellite to any of the $33 tournaments which have satellites to them. 3. Using that $33, play (and win) a S&G satellite to any of the $109 tournaments which have satellites to them. 4. Lastly, using that $109, ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:DON steps followup - saw someone elses post - thoughts on this? Bryan is this even possible? It's an interesting concept, to be sure, but it does have some problems: - The Steps system is intended primarily to be a satellite system for large events, both live and online. Exit points (like to the $215 weekly tournaments) are the exceptions, not the rule. With so many exit points, the top Step would rarely be played. - DoN S&G are popular, but forcing those who don't like them into a new DoN-style system if they want to play Steps doesn't make a lot of sense. These aren't really DoN anyway, but rather a realignment of Steps to match the current most popular ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
