Bank called me and is threatening to shut down my account. Advice appreciated.
This is where you messed up. You need to call them. Banks are allowed and WILL threaten to and eventually shut down accounts that are associated with gambling sites. They're not going to extend their time and services by calling a suspected gambler to further explain their policy.

Sooooo many people "take over" simply by telling their horse what to do...either over AIM or in person. This summer I lived with some random guys who I met on PTP, and the leader would "take over" by telling them exactly what to do when they were deep, and especially at a final table. Also, I saw a post by intervention denying his involvement with Sorel...but 4 years ago I hooked up with intervention on AIM and he put me in the $11r, told me what to do every hand...and we got real deep -- like 15th. At that point I wasn't really sure about the rules, and it seemed like a good learning ...

EDIT: It's not my intention to push my morals on anybody, if I did I apologize. but I don't think I'm wrong in defending the integrity of the game. Evil avatars' No. I fully realize that the option exists to disable them...but it just screams out something that can be used against the legitimacy of poker...say on a news report or something. Look, we're not in a court room here...a lot of what I'm saying is speculation, but well experienced at that. We're all pretty fortunate to have learned this game before there was Rush or even turbos...sure those natural games are still available, ...

I don't need to search for similar threads, because I don't believe that conversations end with the passage of time...especially on internet forums where we see threads stay alive for years. Apparently you contradicted yourself unless I'm mistaken: The fast food wave has been so successful only BECAUSE they market cost efficient, extremely unhealthy, and addictive food which brings people back for a very long time. I agree that all of this discussion may encourage the regulars on this site to play even more on FTP, but that doesn't change my view of the shady vibe or the way it will affect regulation of poker in the long run. I'm still so amazed that most of you think that our business is secure, when it's the exact opposite. The time between now and the next step towards regulation is best served addressing these issues and possibly taking a stab at cleaning up house at some of the big sites.

I really appreciate the insight from somebody who's been around the scene much longer...but I still believe you're sugarcoating a few things. I hold Full Tilt responsible because they use marketing tactics that casinos do...when really a card room should only consist of tables, chairs, chips, cards, and a dealer. IMO it's not optimal to suck in players and fuck with their heads in order to extract more action. It's a layer of slime that ought to be removed before the US reviews the possibility of regulation. You're calling it "having fun losing" when I don't believe it's ever been that fun ...

Most people don't spend a lifetime playing poker... Most players are casual players. And this thread isn't about defending poker...the subject is Full Tilt Poker. I do happen to know what I'm talking about... The software, artwork, and certain structures are designed to take advantage of human emotion. Please arrange a solid argument instead of putting all of your focus to discredit mine. And I wasn't trying to be funny at all with the run-on sentence. The name full tilt is pretty cute, but the fact is that they profit off of casual players who lose their minds on tilt and end up depositing way more than they ever expected too. Sure super turbos and rush poker can be beat by semi pros and pros, but for an amateur player who is not playing optimally and who will be hurting from the beats a lot more than we do, increasing the availability of failure per hour will breed compulsive gamblers, and you can bet your bankroll that when the time comes for congress to regulate online poker, they'll be reviewing a site that is ironically named full ...

My first trip to Vegas
This year I'll be assisting in the home of three poker professionals for two months (June 1st to July 31st.) I am beyond excited for the experience that awaits me. When I'm not running errands, helping out, I'll be covering the action of the Pro's that I'm staying with as well as the WSOP in general via blogging and Twitter. I'm also going to try and find a few nights to do a set in a comedy club, so if anybody has any ideas for good spots to do that sort of thing in, please send me a PM.
