Key Concepts in MTT Bounty Play
I am going to assume you start with 3k in chips To to work out how much wider you can call in a bounty tournament you simply work out how many chips the bounty is worth. In this case the bounty is also $5 as well as the buy in. Buy in $5 - 3k chips. Bounty $5 - 3k chips So when working out your pot odds you add 3k to the final amount. If the bounty was $2.5 then you would add 1500 chips to the call for your pot odds and so on In this specific case it seems 2 players are all in so you could add 6k chips to your pot odds which is going to be a call

Any advice on dealing with varience?
I am going to say what nobody else here has though it's all good advice Get better at poker, having a higher win rate or roi if you play tournaments will decrease your variance more than anything else. Part of that will be a correct mindset. A huge part of it will being technically better and as you do this and become more proficient you can then increase volume which will also help with variance Gl

Frowned Upon? Is it affective?
Actually I think with a big stack and small stacks you should be doing the opposite. If you play quickly the blinds come round quicker to those short stacks meaning they blind down quicker and you get to take advantage of a lot of ICM pressure spots (assume double up sng is like a 50/50 sngs on stars used to have) where medium stacks cannot play back at all due to the micro stacks at the table. The time to stall is when you are a short stack and the blinds going up will hit other short stacks before you reach the meaning that they will bust first or hit the blinds and taker a bigger hit for ...

Any1 know a good ICM calculator that is Free?
I would echo thats ICmizer is by far and the best calcualtor I have used, they have a downloadable program as well as web based offering and very good support (2+2 thread) and email support. I think you get a few free sims a day and after that you need to pay a sub (it's not that much if I recall) There ia also holdem resources calculator which is good (but not as user friendly imo), sng wiz (very outdated)

Maximum +EV - Maniuplating their range hardcore
Playing very loose agressive can be a great strategy However, I don't think making -eV decisions to gain such a image is worthwhile. I recall over on 2+2 a guy did this online for a large number of tournaments to try and gain a long-term crazy image and exploit it (this was online and he was trying hud manipulation) If I recall after dumping a lot of money he gave up on this strategy as once he adjusted back to his normal game he found he didn't get much eV from it. The style your advocating seems very difficult to implement long term. It takes a high level of skill to play loose ...

Not playing for 1st place in MTT
You should not be playing for the win you should be playing for the most $ev possible. This is the essence of ICM, as you cannot win the whole prizepool (due to payouts being more than just 1st place) you very often have a spot which is very cEV (chip ev) but due to payout structures and other stacks around it become -$EV to make that play. For example we are facing an all in with a strong hand such as 99 by a player that covers us but, there are significant pay jumps and 2 other players at the table have 5bb stack and we have average stack Doubling up here is great but offset but the ...

BB is big bets Also I don't think any 100nl regs have a win rate on 12bb/100 these days if they did they would be playing 200nl :)

Transitioning to cash for a year to compare tournament grind too cash grind.
Agree with what you say except this bit (in bold) I find very condeceding there is actually ton of postflop play in MTTs and if you cannot play postflop it's very unlikely you will crush the games in 2015 It's something I hear all the time from cash players who often have never played tournaments with any frequency. I agree totally with the rest of that sentence though

Article: Stay Classy: 22 Men Enter EPT Deauville Ladies Event
The difference between poker and other 'sports' is that poker is a mind sport and there is no disadvantage for a woman compared to physical sports I think event like this perpetuate some ridiculous notion that somehow women are inferior poker players That said men entering the tournament is not really the way to make a political stand on it and I am sure more than a few have entered because they feel its +ev. Men actually treating the woman at their poker tables with respect might actually help remove some of the need for events like these as well. I am sure we have all seen it live a ...

Article: PokerStars Announces Major Rake, Promotional Changes
15% after VIP program etc and marketing costs have been accounted for so its not that high actually, and again like I pointed out over half of this is being paid by the consumer already. Not sure why you need to read rebuys won't be taxed it's in the wording of the new laws essentailly, tax is paid on all revenue. At the moment rebuys are not raked so generate no revenue therefore no Tax under UK rules If you read the post I linked to the guy involved with the actual process of legalising poker in the UK points out that its a huge money grab he explains likely way better than I do why this ...

sorry but you are grossly wrong on this. France taxes on the prizepool and .uk on revenue alone. So stars only pays tax on any rake generated where as .fr pays tax on size of prizepool regardless of rake. So they don't pay tax everytime someone rebuys Also the tax rate is half of all other non poker gaming sites. Poker got a reduced rate versus other gambling sites The reduction in vip program offsets more than half of this cost already fwiw

this is due to French tax laws not for them to make more profit. Also the entire player base has these fees, only selected (for now) countries have these fees. Guys who play 3r 180s or the 3x satties now cannot win in these games essentially

Upright mouse will help. I have pretty bad RSI in my shoulder and a upright mouse really helped to sort it out. I would also suggest seeing a physio for some advice as well on exercises to help with it.
