Re:AKo as CL mid-late stages If someone else can tell you how not to double this guy up in this hand I would appreciate the input. Pre-flop is just fine, I would have played it the same. If you raise it more pre-flop you are just giving away the strength of your hand in my opinion. Yeah you could have C-bet the flop but that flop is very coordinated and any c-bet on your part commits you if he shoves, so I can understand your check behind. When the turn comes, you just have to pray he is on some kind of draw but I just can't fold here, maybe it is a flaw in my game' So with that said, I probably would have c-bet the ... Re:is this an auto fold If the villain has been shoving or 3 betting a lot prior to this hand you should have known what you were going to do prior to entering the pot. Basically you should have had a plan in place in case this happened. This is especially true if this is the final table or final two tables and villain is using the FT pressure to be stealing a ton of chips. I disagree with folding here if that is the case. Re:How would you play the Kings in this spot?? What RevK said..... Also, you really need to learn how to manipulate your bet sizes to generate the action you want without giving away to much info. Your ideal bet size per-flop is to make it big enough that you idealy only get one caller at most. Clearly as mentioned and you can see your bet size was way too small. Also your follow up bet size $400 into a $3200-$3300(') pot or so. To me the story your telling me pre-flop if I was Nacht11 with 55 is you are giving me odds to call for set value and your follow up bets is very possibly AK style hand and my 55 may be good. That Nacht11 got ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:What does this raise represent to you people? In my mind you have the perfect situation to ship it all in pre-flop. I hate your pre-flop raise and you paid for it by getting so many people calling here which your hand can really not take. With a larger chip stack, you want to raise it a minimum of 4x, with one limper ahead (3x plus 1x for every limper is my rule of thumb). But with your chip stack you really need to ship it. My theory is a 10 BB stack means all in pre or with the understanding that regardless of flop I am getting all my chips in the middle. What kind of hand would I put him on'' With that reraise A8, a bluff, 99-JJ, ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:fold or push or 3 bet I think this is a good place to 3 bet, original raiser is loose, flat caller tight and he usually doesn't slow play big hands, you have a good chance of making them both fold here with a squeeze. But I think a shove is a bit better than 3 bet / call but I think that depends a bit on your image and actions leading up to this point. BTW, to my way of thinking you should never consider putting over 1/3 of your stack in and folding. So you either 3bet / call, 3 bet shove or fold. NEVER 3 bet here and fold. My 2 cents. Re:Got owned in 10/10 NL--what did I do wrong? I've lost all confidence in my game. I am not a cash game player so I will not give specific advice per hand but when I was reading this it seems to me you need to work more on your pot control. You need to either be firing at the pot to control it or slowing down and check calling him more to keep it small. My two cents. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:AQo on Button on Bubble facing Raise and Call I think you made the correct play given the situation and the reads. The possibility of the BB waking up with a Monster in this spot should not be taking in consideration of what is the most optimal play here. BTW-I like that you questioned the play and still feel you should make the same play regardless of the results. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:AQo on Button on Bubble facing Raise and Call You have a weird stack for the situation reason I would prefer a shove over a raise. This is because by just raisng to $10K (I personally would make it 12K) you are opening yourself to getting squeezed /reshoved on. This in my opinion takes partincular importance due to both aggressive players (BB and UTG+1) geting a chance to act and the bubble about to burst. By being the first shover you take that option away from the BB or CO, put them in a spot where they bascially need a premium top 4 % to call 99+,AQs+,AKo to call you with. I do believe after putting in 1/3rd of your stack it is not ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:AQo on Button on Bubble facing Raise and Call Based on your reads of the players, stage of tourney, I don't mind a shove here. I think you have a lot of fold equity with the two players ahead due to your reads (UTG+1 opening a lot of pots and CO flatting a lot) and you should generate folds from the SB and BB with anything but 99+,AQs+,AKo. With that said I wouldn't surprise me if the CO called a shove here. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Bad shove? Standard? Im not sure. To me your over shove makes your hand very easy to read. Your basically saying go away I want to take the pot down now. If I was the villain I would put a range of a mid pocket pair or AK (77-1010, AK and MAYBE JJ or AQ depending on my read of you) which makes my decision a lot easier. A 3 bet to 15K is putting a little much too much of your stack in but is a lot scarier and I think is better than your shove. A 3 bet to $12-15K you could (') possibly still get away from but it is close. Personally, I would rather flat in position. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
