P5s Training Strategy Discussion - Hand from $50 Cubed Gags, I read what you wrote. I get that you're trying to rep, but EndlessJ has 25bbs and you don't have a lot of room for error on this line. So what is your goal' You don't want a big pot, and you don't c-bet, so you don't want a small pot. You somehow want EndlessJ to commit 7bb and then fold to your river bet because you're adequately repping a decent hand. Your line is confusing. Humor me if we can change the topic of discussion: do you think EndlessJ can be playing a mixed strategy and just flat you with a weak Ace or king' If so, isn't your river play that much more questionable' ... P5s Training Strategy Discussion - Hand from $50 Cubed If this post wasn't created by Gags, there wouldn't be such ridiculous esoteric no offense BS being posted by people trying to flex their poker muscles and show that they should be able to play 36s profitably in this spot. While I do enjoy reading what thinking players have to say, thinking players post so rarely that I can't believe it is being wasted on this topic. If you're going to bet 36s, you pretty much need to c-bet most all of the time. Reason: the hand sucks and the flop provides the most amount of imperfect information that will likely force EndlessJ to fold. This whole idea of ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

moving to canada to play online poker @krise24, could you elaborate on the phrase "once you have an issue'" from After the temporary residence question is comes the question about whether or not playing online poker in Canada qualifies as "working in Canada" because with a temporary resident visa, you can't "work" in Canada. Has the question about whether online poker is "work" been settled' Posted in: Poker Community |

Canada?...after 6 months???? Am I missing something? Cheers to all who have traveled out of the US to relocate their poker careers. I'm considering the option. However, for those of you who chose Canada, what do you plan to do after 180 days are up' Maybe I missed some very basic part of the immigration process to the great north, but it seems like if you want to stay in the good graces of the Canadian government you're going to have to vacate you new residences in 6 months. I don't know if this is just optimism thinking that the US will let us play again anytime soon, or it is mere pro-activism about your careers. Anyhow, best of luck all ... Should the 17 year old who came 6th in sundays 5milly special keep the money? Of course the kid shouldn't get the money. 1) Not his account(i think). 2) Underage. The rules must be followed. The question of what to do with the money is another issue. I think the money should be put into a pool of money taken from players who break the rules and win. That pool should go to buying seats into the next World Series ME in a $100 satelite. Posted in: Poker Community |

Can we bring back "nh" and "ty"? Is anyone against bringing back the nicety of an honest, non-sarcastic, "nh" and "ty"' I understand that many players are simply playing too many tables to do this regularly, but it was a nice showing of respect of a hand well played, even if amongst the degens and scumbags. I'd like to the see this minimal use of the chatbox come back into stlye. Seriously. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Peter Eastgate's return In fact, after you pay your backers. you literally owe nothing to nobody...especially the OP who believes that poker is like God at the Superbowl...keeps getting all the credit and doesn't do anything. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Peter Eastgate's return OP. Jesus. What is there really to be angry about. TJ Cloutier has pawned off enough bracelets to devalue their worth completely. Literally, the bracelet is a symbol of an accomplishment, much like an FTOPS jersey. The fact that some guy was willing to pay 100k Euro proves this and the fact that Eastgate felt he no longer needed to keep his bracelet as a reminder of his accomplishment and decided to donate its value to charity is in no way a negative thing. And Eastgate didn't sell the bracelet because he is a broke degen like Cloutier. As for his return and his past feeling of being lost, ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

gboro explain yourself Everyone is looking at the negative side, which is that the dude with JJ makes a very leaky decision on the turn. The upside to making the 3bet pre is that on a good flop (which happens occasionally) the pot will be larger and JJ ends up with a bigger take. I know that this turns JJ into a set mining hand, but all pocket pairs are effectively set mining hands early in mtts if you're playing post flop. You and the others suggest flatting preflop is the superior line,...in which case the downside is everyone and their mother gets into the pot for 76 chips and then you're still playing to set ... Palm Beach Kennel Club Circuit Event's there will be some top onlnie pros at these events, there are not too many players who are going to walk into that series with a lot of arrogance because the fields should be solid. There will likely be some soft money because the wpt hasn't been there before. GL Posted in: Poker Discussion |

FTOPS 2k hand , call or fold? WWYD? Andres, if everyone stops posting, then we won't have the clutter of misinformed opinions from the newbs to sift through. The Dean's range is right on the money with AK, JJ+ as a call. I think the value of AK here hand comes from the dead money and in the possibility of a triple up if the original raiser or three-bettor has a real hand and wants to gamble--not the 4-bettor's range because it is apparently very wide. Re:Thoughts re: Fox's article AB, you're devilishly "avocado"-ing a position that you know is unpopular. Props for challenging the community. The obvious question is one that must be posed to producers of televised tournaments and the people in charge of making decisions pertaining to player sponsorship: WHY EXACTLY are the players forced to agree to the anti-competitive rules' 1) Is the tourney series merely an advertising campaign for one or more poker sites' * if so, then the rules make complete sense. 2) Is the tourney series a true poker event intended to bring out the best players' * if so, then ... Re:Gross spot with a set early in 1k... What is so magic about 800 being the limit of a river call' Aside from complete bluff the obv hands for villain are 44, KJ,....or i think QQ although ppl seem to not think QQ is in play-- speculation about villain holding two pair is just ludicrous early in the $1k (which yes, I have played several times). The min raise (twice), w/o info on the raiser seems WAY too obv for the nuts, but early in the $1k, you can just chalk it up as second level thinking , or 4th. Please fill me in on why 800 is the threshold. Is it arbitrary, or is it based on some secret +ev poker knowledge that I'm ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Rap? Seriously? OP must be joking. burping while riding a motorcycle is not nearly as musical as rap music. It became popular because people like it. The vocabulary isn't only diverse, but the vocab of rap music has had much influence on American culture and speech. Rap generally comes out of the struggle of poor american life, which is more real and interesting than most real life struggle of country musicians who sound like they gargle balls for a living.
