Gambling budget gone already
Figured since I posted when I won big at Bodog I should come clean now that I've lost. Failed to follow the most basic rules of bankroll management and am now on brink of not being able to bet even a single game for rest of season...something I enjoy immensely. For those getting into sportsbetting, don't fall into the same trap of thinking, I'm overdue to win or I'll just bet bigger than usual today beacuse I feel so strongly about this game. Just as with playing too high of stakes in poker, it'll only be a matter of time before your balance is $0.

Re(13): Nicky Price Owns
You're 100% right, Nicky. I had the Skins, watched the whole game and wasn't surprised in the least that they finally broke through. Bledsoe and the O never put a tired, overworked defense away. (Was surprised that it was Roy Williams who made the same mistake twice, though.)

NickyPrice- You handled yourself real well in this thread....my advice would be to not even respond to any subsequent posts from soc. Good luck the rest of the season...I've gotta feeling it's going to be a profitable one for you and your clients. Rob Garf

Appreciate it, Nicky. You're right about the Covers team...they are baadddd. But there are a handful of guys who are solid...CGold and FiveStars are my two favorites.

I hear ya 2 Guns...was tilting big time after that Ohio St. game and three one-run losses in MLB. I did look for three dogs that I felt could win straight up, though (would've also won w/Tampa but played Miami instead...a Jake the Snake fade and Denver now 0-7 at Miami).

Disagree with the previous posts...there a lot of very experienced, consistent guys at Covers who think the Eagles are far and away the best pick of the week...I'm coat tailing em. Lay the wood, boys.

Re(2): Becoming A Sports Bettor
I agree in part, but all of the mistakes I made/make were addressed in the two sportsbetting books I suggested...just a matter of being disciplined enough to apply the information. Experience is also critical, though. (A related quote by Evan Hardin: Good judgment comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgment.)

Re(1): Becoming A Sports Bettor
My advice would be to stick with cards. I've heard more horror stories about losing big bucks betting sports than playing poker. If you're set on the idea, you should definitely read a book or two...here are a couple of the better ones available:

I'm baaaaack, Bodog
After getting moosed by every one-run baseball game and by idiot Ohio St. QB taking a safety at end of game (to make it 25-22 and I had Under 46), I put my last Bodog $882 on three parlays...was tiltin late last nite when I did it, and although I usually don't bet this way, am glad I did:) Edit

College pigskin picks
Duke is in a historically better spot for them this week...a double-digit home dog (as opposed to being a road favorite last week:) but VTech should cover the 20.5. My only other picks today are Michigan to cover the 7.5 and OSU-Texas to go under 46. gl boys

Re(25): Miami at Florida St.
Been busy with a new job lately but wanted to comment in this thread. While the FSU and UM offenses were inept, nobody else really mentioned the sick defense played by both teams. Watching FSU's line and lb's on a few of those second-half Miami drives was as good as it gets...they could barely catch their breath yet were all over the place everytime the ball was snapped--Wright had no chance. As for VTech, I really like them this year...their D more than Vick and the offense (although Imoh is gonna be great). I have always made money on them in September and October...but even Onyx Hokie ...

Re(10): who do you all like saturday?
My goal this cfb season is 70% (very difficult but plausible over the course of one season) so let's get it started...KANSAS -24, TCU +27, NORTHWESTERN -14, MARYLAND -12.5. Off the record, I love Zambrano and Beckett tomorrow...CUBS RL and MARLINS ML for a sweeeet 6-0 Saturday.

Maybe it's not a big deal for a 21-year old with a Tercel but for a guy with a wife and two jeeps, it's a big hit to the ol' budget...plus our house is heated by oil and our electric bill is up 25% this year...argh.
