Interviewing for a new job when you already have a job...
I did. I knew this was a one bullet deal. I had to be willing to take the other job (I was) if things didn't work out. My wife was a bit pissed I did not take the other offer. I really didn't want to leave where I was, though...but had to get paid more for my experience, contribution, etc. Had it not worked out, the other job was very nice, similar work, just with a few less perks and a loss of seniority. Fortunately, it all worked out, and things look like they are getting much better around here.

Interviewing for a new job when you already have a job...
I did this last summer. Was happy with what I did, just not pay at the time (but knew I was going to get a raise, just was not sure what it was going to be). I felt confident going into the interviews. I did not have to worry about overly impressing them with my knowledge or who I was, just had to be honest, lay things out for them, answer their questions, and let things happen. I ended up with one solid offer, one verbal "we want you, but want to make sure you want us", and ended up staying where I was for a fairly decent raise.

What are you doing with your life (career-wise) and are you happy?
I'm a senior developer for a business service company here. Overall I love the company and what I do. I do feel I got hosed on a promotion (or at least a chance of it). Pretty much learned that managers feel no obligation to stick to what they say they are going to do.

Just booked a cruise!!
Wife and I just got back from our first cruise for our 10 year anniversary. Best money spent for a vacation ever. We're not heavy drinkers (I don't drink at all, and she will have something small every now and then), and still have a blast. Things I learned: 1. Poker on the boat is incredibly soft. I ran way above expectation, yes, but even then these guys just want to bluff. I bought in for $20 just goofing around (1/2 NL) and cashed out $375 at the end of 4 short sessions. 2. Lil Hantz has got to go...I believe in God, and still find him incredibly annoying (did Matt last season too, btw). I don't watch Survivor for a Sunday School lesson.... As for Cochran: You'd think a guy who has obviously spent as much time as he has watching the show, researching the game, studying strategy, etc, would have thought "Hey, if I'm going to go on this show, I might need to become a bit more physical." Dude seriously needed to pull his head out from the books/internet porns and hit the gym some.

What is your annual income?
Income starting Jan 1 will be just over 80k, plus some side work/business I do, but still expect to be in the 80-90k range. Big raise in the last few months of this year/start of next year, so going into debt payoff mode and try to build some stability.

Extreme Couponing on TLC
Have a friend that is into this. Purchased over $250 for $70 the other week. Not as extreme as the show, but still a great savings. Problem is, we don't eat a lot of crap that put out coupons for. Don't see a lot of coupons for fresh veggies, lean meats, etc.

Moving to Little Rock
I live in Conway, about 20 minutes north of LR. Check out the River Market, some good places down there. Closest place to gamble is Hot Springs (Oaklawn) but it's all "electronic games of skill." Tunica is 2.5 hours away, and there are some casinos in Oklahoma just across the boarder.

Best workout
P90X > Insanity for what you want. I'm actually finishing P90X this week, then moving straight into Insanity. But mygoals were to lose as much fat as possible.

$$ for advice on a workout plan
Someone suggested P90X. If you are going to do that (and it's not a great plan for mass building, IMO), look up the modified mass building rotation that Steve Edwards posted on his blog. Just dig through the P90X newsletter acrhives for this routine. They're shooting a new version of P90X this week. My understanding is they consulted with a mass building expert to find a way to add this as a component to the new system.

So I can't afford a gym membership...
If you cannot afford something like P90X or a gym membership, do this: 1. Buy the book "The Abs Diet." It has a really good, simple workout regiment in it (as well an easy to follow diet plan). 2. Buy some inexpensive dumbbells or resistance bands. 3. Follow instructions. Apply your money towards healthy eating.

Most you have won at -EV Game
Had a wild day on a $5 wheel of fortune slot. Played the only $100 I took to the casino on it, won $450. Lost back down to $200 total on poker tournament and 3 card poker. Took another $100 to the slot, won $200. Cashed out. Took another $100 to the slot, cashed out $405. Took one more $100 to the machine, cashed out $1,280. Other than that, hit quads in carribean stud for $500, dealer didn't open. Ran good in single deck blackjack turning $50 into over $500. No 5 figure anythings tho.

The winning Powerball ticket sold at the store I played at on Christmas! Woo?!
Played Tuesday's mega drawing, scored $3 on a single ticket. Taking that and wife's $1 scratch off winner and putting all in mega drawing for tomorrow.

Westboro picketing Elizabeth Edwards' funeral
A friend of mine started to organize a group to moon these bastards when they were going to protest in Midland, AR (from the school board member who wrote a homophobic rant some time ago). The name: Hineys On The Highway They decided to pull the idea after the LGBT community thought it would be a bad idea as well as the fact that a school would be sight of the protest (they were going to go boxers/undies instead of all out mooning once they learned this, but still decided to cancel).
