House Hearing On Internet Gambling Live At 11:15AM EST
The other issue that was discussed was setting limits on time played, Amount won, amount lost. maybe I heard wrong, I know they discussed showing the player these items, but I thought I heard putting limits on them as well. If they did, it wouldn't make sense.

Full Tilt and Pokerstars Domains Seized
Just tried to cash out from Poker Stars. I get a message saying: "Poker Stars is currently making technical changes to the Poker Stars cashier to allow you to cash out the real money balance in your account. The cashout option will be available to you in the near future. In the meantime, we appreciate your patience and understanding." I've tried all options available to me. I'm from Pennsylvania. Anyone else getting this'

Just My Two Random Cents... The question has come up a lot.... Why can't the Congress just regulate and tax players earnings' This would add billions of revenue each year. Why I think the Congress doesn't go this route' Because US doesn't want to get it's share of the profits. They want to own the store. Congress sees the revenue being sent to the off-shore poker sites by US players and they want to own it all. Not just a piece. With the years of experience, the commanding US base of players already in their sites, the US could never compete with FTP, PS, or even UB when building a US based ...

Should the 17 year old who came 6th in sundays 5milly special keep the money?
It is against the Poker Stars TOS, so he should not be allowed to keep the money. Then again, getting caught multi-accounting was against the TOS resulting in a permanent ban from the site. But we know how that turned out, so let him keep the money.

Pokertracker?
The best feature is the All-In EV graph. Other than that, if you are keeping stats on wins/losses primarily and hand history, PT2 is fine.

P5's Discussion, Hand Advice, Forum View Change Suggestion
Just wanted to suggest a page view change. Is it possible to further filter the Hand Discussion, Hand Advice pages to filter by game: General/Hold'em/Omaha/Stud/Razz, etc. - General discussion being default Maybe filter further by No/Pot/Limit. I know this is mostly a Hold'em site, but I think this would help in getting to specific games other than Hold'em. Maybe have a checkbox on each post that defaults to General or Hold'em. But, give the poster the chance to choose the game the had, discussion is in reference to. Then under Hand Advice, or Poker Discussion give the viewer the chance to ...

how do you rebound from a disappointing session?
See if the reason for bricking was due to bad play, or bad luck. Was your mental stamina depleted after your normal length of play. I.E. if you play after work at night and play 4-5 hours a session, what was your decision making ability after 6-8 hours of play' Take as much time as you need to go over the 14 hour session. Go over all 14 hours, don't stop after reviewing a couple hours of play and state it was bad luck in key spots and stop reviewing. Even if it takes a couple days to a week to disect your session it is better time spent getting the best analysis of your play tan to jump back ...

Please Help - Poker Ethics Question
I don't think the player eliminated got cheated. There was a deal in place where all four were playing within the same rules. So, all four were playing under the same dynamics of the game. Then, when the player was eliminted, if the final three wanted to play under different rules, then I don't see an issue. As long as the change in the final three wasn't made while all four were playing and player who was eliminated didn't know. If there was any talk among the final 3 players when the final four deal was made that "if player A gets eliminated the we will reset the payout" without player 4 ...

Sit n Go player looking for reassurance
I would agree with the previous posts that while making a steady profit in the lower buy-in SnGs is possible, when you move up to even the $20 9-Man SnGs you will find many, many regs registered. Plus, running nothing but 9-Man SnG is mind numbing. It may be one reason why you kept moving up faster than your BR allowed. No reason to just drop the 9-Man altogether, but to keep your sanity, maybe mix in some cash game sessions, maybe even in PLO, or another game. While learning a new game, or learning the cash game may not be profitable in the short run. I think it will keep your 9-Man SnG ...

Sick Life Decision...WWYD?
Is the reason you want to play poker for a living more because you hate your job' Or because you believe you can make a living playing poker' If the reason is you believe you can earn enough to make a living then - Write down all your hard bills - Health insurance, rent, car payment, car insurance, any loans, etc. These are bills you have to pay each month. Now write down your soft bills - food, entertainment, birthday gifts, holiday gifts, clothing, etc. These are bills that you must pay each month, but is flexible. E.g. You can eat lobster and filet every night and have one food bill, or ...

Question
An average player should win 1 out of 9 times. Finish in top 3 - 1 out of three times. But if you want to make a profit, your percentage in one of the two must be higher. I.e. you can still finish in top 3 only 30% of the time (instead of 33%), but if your place is more first and second than third place finishes, you can still make a profit.

Late Reg. vs playing tourney's from the beginning?
If I started held a MTT where everyone got 3,300 chips, but I told you that you had to start with 3,000 would you be Ok with that' This is what basically happens when you register late (actual numbers may vary). The average starting stack is more than what you are given.

Migranes from grinding??
Try adjusting the contrast on your screen. Having your screen too bright can affect your eye/head. This may also sound stupid, but sometimes I'll wear sunglasses while playing, but I have always suffered with migraines and when I can feel one coming on, I'll wear the sunglasses. It seems to work for me.

SNG or MTT
It's a matter of how much time you have for a session. Since I play poker for fun, and have to keep a real job I play mostly SnG's. But, I think the SnG fish pool has dried up a lot in the past couple years starting at the $20's. There is still money to be made, but I don't think the edge is as big overall. I'd love to mix in more MTT's because I think the overall fish pool is more stocked. But, the amount of time is not conducive to my schedule. If I had the time, I'd play MTTs for profit than SnG.

Re:SNG move up
If you are playing the single table SnG, and have been playing over 500 SnG and have a 15-20% ROI over that span, then I think $500 is ok to move up to $10.00. What I would do is play $10.00 once you get above $500 BR, and, if you fall below $500, go back down to $5.00. Just because you move up doesn't mean you have to stay there. It does get tough if you are successful at the $10.00 at first, build your BR to like $600.00, then go on a downswing that brings you back below $500. You start to think I was winning before at the $10, I should be able to build my roll up again staying at ...

Re:Balancing Poker and your Job
I would write out your total compensation at your job: Base pay, Bonus Pay, Health care, Overtime pay, Gain in credit to borrow for things like a car, etc. Then write out what your expected pay would be in two years: Any position raises, Cost of living raises. More credit to borrow for things like a house. Then, write out what your pay could be in 3-5 years: Again, cost of living raises, position raises Health care for you and possible family Now write out what you are making in poker for the amount of time you are currently playing. Then write down the amount you expect to make - note ...

So approx 80% of the field is eliminated, everyone gets their money back' Doesn't seem right. I would have preferred dividing the $5,000 by remaining chip counts.

Re:able to grind sngs for a living?
Couple things going for you: 1. Semester away from graduating 2. Probably no big expenses assuming you still live with parents. Trust me, nothing wrong with that for now. My thought would be to graduate. Then, take a couple weeks off to think about what you really want to do with your degree. If you still want to play SnG's for a living, play for 3-6 months as you have planned. If you are making enough to pay all living expenses including health insurance, rent, food, car insurance, and put money aside for long term savings, and you still are excited to play 250 SnG's per day, then ...
