Bring back PokerStars to the US - plsssss
Two things to give all of us in the Atlanta area a little hope: Harrah's Cherokee should have "real" poker very soon and it's only 2 hours away. There is a Republican primary in GA on July 31st. The GOP executive committee has voted to put casino gambling on the ballot. The measure is not binding but if the results are overwhelmingly in favor of casino gambling it will be hard to ignore. GA poker players; please keep this date in mind and get out and vote. As long as you are a registered voter in GA you can vote in this primary.

Lock and Cake certainties
I know there's a lot of uncertainty re: Lock buying Cake and what will happen. I also know there was/is another lengthy thread about this topic but I thought a new clean thread where we try to clarify what is actually known might be a good idea. One thing that seems certain is that the number of players on Cake will go up a lot on June 1st as Lock players are added to the Cake player pool. What else is known for sure at this point'

cashout requests on cakepoker
Waiting 4 months to get money from Cake sucks! My last cashout took 4 months and I have another one pending. Having said that, at least we (US players) can still play for real money on Cake and we do get our money. I like playing on Cake, and will continue to play on Cake as long as I can.

Al D'Amato on Stossel last night
Al D'Amato was on John Stossel's show last night on Fox Business to talk about online poker. Stossel was railing against prohibition (drugs, prostitution, and online poker). I was wholly unimpressed with D'Amato. The PPA needs to find a better informed more articulate spokesperson/lobbiest.

Finally some good casino news for Atlanta
A little additional info: Gov. Perdue has signed the compact with the tribe. In addition to the expansion of Class III games in the agreement, it could include removal of the one-casino limit. State lawmakers must still vote to amend state law to allow the live games, and the federal government must also agree.

Finally some good casino news for Atlanta
North Carolina Closes In On Las Vegas Style Gambling A new gambling compact with the Cherokee Indian tribe in North Carolina could bring poker and other Las Vegas-style gaming to the state’s only casino. Under the proposed 30-year agreement, Harrah’s Cherokee Casino would gain exclusive rights to offer the new table games in exchange for 4 percent of their revenue which would go to the state education department. That percentage will eventually be raised to 8 percent as the years progress. Gov. Bev Perdue has spent the last two months pushing for the new compact, much to the ...

Web Gambling gets boost from Obama Administration
"A number of gaming companies are advancing after the Wall Street Journal, citing legal experts, reported yesterday that a Justice Department opinion could enable states to legalize most forms of online gambling within their borders." party Gaming, IGT, and Shuffle Master are all up nicely this morning. The Justice Department opinion and Wall Street's recognition of it are both very good news for our cause.

This Week Debate - Barney Frank, George Will, and Internet Gambling
I just watched this Sunday morning debate and Barney Frank was hammering the right on individual rights including internet gambling. He mentioned it no less than 6 times. That's good news but not "the" news. The news for me was when George Will said, and I quote; "on the internet gambling, as you know, I am a supporter of the Barney Frank bill." Even George Will is on our side!

Official Bankroll Management Thread
I took everything off Cake except $850 earlier this year because I was comfortable "losing" that amount. If you can't afford to "lose" $900 then withdraw $500 now (if you're lucky you will have your money by Christmas). I felt like that amount would be enough to absorb a downswing (I play up to $30 buy ins) and if it was lost, seized or stolen it woudln't hurt too bad. If you leave the $900 on there and run it up to $1400, take $500 off immediately. Rinse and repeat. Good Luck
