Re:front page article by Jack Welch Seems as if some of the top players chimed in saying the article was bad, and gave some reasons why use some of this info to improve your game next time you play and maybe something has come out of this' Definetly some of the replies were decent and I am sure Jack will appreciate some of the feedback because like I said, imo, this was more of a question type piece than a strategy type article. The one line I, and most people can read form all of it and really take to heart is actually something you just posted: How are you guys supposed to know optimum strategy' There is no such thing, ... Re:front page article by Jack Welch Ok here goes for those of you who actually care. I happen to know Jack fairly well and we are part of a small group of players who email HH's back and forth, rail each others tournies and offer moral support to each other through our grind up the ladder. No our PLB's aren't huge, no we are not breaking into the top 100 any time soon but thats ok so I think even bringing that up in this situation is kind of uncalled for (atleast to flame about it). Just because he is not a top ranked player does not mean his opinion is invalid, or atleast worth taking a second to read over. ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Is this the right call? I dont think this is as easy a laydown as you would think. After his shove there is 21785 in the pot and you have to call 12385 which gives you pot odds of 1.76:1. I still think it's a fold...but definetly worth thinking about it at the least. If you have live cards or racing against a small/medium pair than you could make an arguement for the call. I think folding preflop is your best option because of Looshle's stack size. He could be reshipping you fairly light here and putting you in a tough spot for alot of your chips with a hand you really don't want to call with, but ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Anyone have any pull at Foxwoods? Tell them you are a critic from a soon to be released e magazine called North American Gambler (or some other random name). Your first issue will be rating service, ammenities, and overall feel of the casino's in that area (sorry dont know where Foxwoods is). Explain that there will be no charge for any of the advertising generated through the article, but slip in that any perks (or comps ie room, food) that you received during your stay could only increase the likelihood of a favourable rating. Enjoy your free weekend. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:High Stakes MTT's - Inside the minds of High Stakes Grinders Well I'll take a shot at this one..hopefully don't make an ass of myself: You definetly have to raise here, atleast half pot - 3/4's. I think best thing that happens is he folds because I don't know if you want to go any further with this hand. Win it on the flop and then on to the next hand. If he repops you probably have to fold. Since he just called behind you I would probably range him somewhere in the neighbourhood of 77-JJ, KJs, KQo, KQs, AT, AJ, (AQs,AQo - maybe..but I think he is raising this pre alot of times). I think any bigger hands he probably reraises pre, also ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:SNG bubble overcall? - answering a student's e-mail I think this is basically the answer. At 250/500 it's shove monkey poker anyway so if your confident in your push/shove game, you take away your advantage by overcalling here in what is at best a flip in most cases. Then, for no reason at all, there just happend to be a swimming pool filled with jello in the living room, and said participants happened to get very "angry" with each other and started ripping each others clothes off and fell into the jello orgy pit..I mean ...never mind............. Re:Drinking age 21 to 18? Going to have to agree with Kajun on this one. If you are old/mature enough to carry around a machine gun, take a bullet, or take someones life...I would be inclined to think that you are responsible enough to drink because somehow drinking seems like much less of a responsibility. Re:Who is your favorite poster, and why? Sorry if this gets a little sappy. I would have to say it's a tie between Chaz/BGX. Not only are these two excellent, funny, no bs, posters...they take the time to go out of their way to transend what is essentially a message board, and bring OT into your home so to speak. How many people have crashed at Chaz's place (or atleast had the offer of a bed)' OT BBQ's etc where Chaz has invited any and all OT'rs into his house and treated them as equals regardless of PLB's scores...the list goes on of the hospitality this man (and in turn River) have shown to all members of ... Re:How you met your other half Long story...I'll trim it down to important parts: Story starts about 1991 when I was 12 and she was 11 -Met her through mutual friends and hung out a few times -Halloween she shows up at my house with some friends in a french maid outfit....she stayed for a couple hours -next 2-3 years are a series of meet-ups where we do everything but have sex (went to once but my brother walked in on us) -I end up in a serious relationship (well as serious as it gets at 14-15) and we still talk but don't touch for like 1 1/2 - 2 years. -We both break up with who we were dating at roughly the ...
