New Laptop - any tech guys? My PC just busted, it was the motherboard so I'm going to buy a laptop instead. I am dipping into my bankroll and am a starving student so my budget is limited. Having said that I'm not going to cheap out and take a POS. My computer knowledge goes as far as google searching what I want, and nobody has clearly told me what somebody who listens to music, watches movies, writes papers, and plays poker needs. I will never be gaming on this laptop. What should I be looking for' Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'd had to overspend or on the other side get something that ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:Brag post I wasn't playing $10 once I was down there. I just play them once in awhile as a treat when I have $500+ in my account. Thanks for the tip though I realize now that bank roll is key to poker. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Brag post Always used to play out of my limits. Deposited $50 two months ago and have stuck to $6 90 mans with occasional $12 90 mans or $5 and $10 scheduled tournaments. Withdrew some last month to pay some cc debt off, and went on a down swing after that. I was down to $140 and just feeling like I had to keep playing my game and no way was I going to lose 25ish buyins in these easy $6 multitables. Sure enough determination paid off: Sat Night: $8 180 man, 1st for $388 Mon: $24 (I used a $6 dollar token tourney) 45 man, 2nd for $320 $6 90 man, 1st for $144 Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:bankroll management is hard.. I've built my bankroll from $50 to $800 mostly playing $6 buy ins, usually 90 mans. My biggest is $860 but I can't break the $900 mark. Having said that, I barely play $12 games even though I've won a $12 90 man just because it's not in my bankroll. What you need to do is set yourself a goal and then it's a LOT easier to maintain good management. My goal is to turn $50 into $1200 then cash out $1000 and I know I'm close enough to get to it playing in these low level tourneys. I'm not playing poker to make a living - which I'm guessing you aren't either, so ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
