What's Wrong With the NHL.
Not sure how what you said stereotype America or puts it in a bad light. Welcome to everywhere in the world. The reason Canadians like hockey and don't like Baseball, Basketball, Football as much. Why people all over Europe love soccer and don't care for other sports as much. Why Norway is in love with Cross Country Skiing. It's not a bad thing to like the sports that your country is good at and it's not isolated to Americans

Predator Drone Used to Capture North Dakota Anti Government Crime Family
They arrested this family not for failing to report stray livestock. They arrested them because when the local sheriff came to the farm to retrieve the livestock the family pointed guns at them and said they were keeping the livestock and if you don't get off our land we will shoot you They called in the drone so they wouldn't get shot and the family wouldn't get killed Not sure if that was the best option but given the situation I don't think it was the worst

Predator Drone Used to Capture North Dakota Anti Government Crime Family
While I agree I don't like where we are headed as a country on giving too much power to the government to protect us I don't think this is a great example as to why. Cite the recent supreme court ruling of allowing strip searches without cause or the homeland security people inappropriately searching our elderly, disabled, and kids. Don't cite a situation where a bunch of gun carrying anti-government freaks aim weapons at local authorities when they approach them regarding a minor crime. Last time something like that happened in North Dakota 2 cops ended up being killed by the posse ...

Smokers need not apply
I'm ok with companies giving their employees incentives to lose weight and stop smoking. I never said I was for employers not hiring smokers I was just explaining why they might. Yes the correct spelling of CaptainMorgan was taken. I would have had to been CaptainMorgan192 or something like that

Smokers need not apply
The health insurance isn't bullshit it is a legit reason employers don't want to hire smokers. Smokers cost more than non-smokers. Health insurance is the second biggest cost to many employers. If company x is doing proactive things to reduce its second largest expense and there competition company y is doing nothing who do you think has the advantage. Many companies realize this and are moving towards reducing its expense. There is a bunch of things we cannot control that cause health insurance premiums to rise - government cost shifting, medical miracles, aging population and those aren't ...

It has a chance to hurt him with blacks and blue collar dems. It may have been a calculated strategy on his and his teams part because they think it helps him. It seems some on here think everything he does is only to get re-elected. I disagree. On this issue I don't know. He has stood up for things that the majority didn't support (like Bush, unlike Clinton) so I'm not sure how you can say for sure this was only political. Even if it is I still give him props for it. I believe it is something he believes and has believed for a long time and didn't have the guts to come out and say it. Heck ...

I guess agree to disagree. I didn't think Bush did everything he did prior to re-election to get re-elected, I thought he stood up for what he believed was right even when unpopular with some in his party on some issues. I think Obama does as well. If we were talking about Clinton then obv would agree with you. If that is why he did I think he was wrong. Gay rights people would still support him over Mitt they might not have been motivated to vote but they wouldn't vote against him. Blacks will support him regardless but now might not be as motivated to vote. I guess it is a matter of where ...

I used to think your where intelligent and sane. Guess I missed the early warning signals. As far as simplistic views go pot meet kettle. I was going to leave it at that but come on man you lost your marbles. The black vote is not hard for the left to get but it is very hard to get them actually show up to vote. If you really believe this doesn't hurt the black turnout you may have taken one to many right turns

If the term marriage is based out of religion instead of government doctrine as many people claim it is then I'm not sure why you can't have two wives. We have freedom of religion in this country and if your religion says you can have two wives then if marriage is a religious belief why can't you. Just because Chirstians God defines marriage as between a man and women doesn't mean all religions have similar definitions. But marriage in the U.S. is not based on religion (regardless what the far right claims) and based on the government definition marriage is between a man and a women. The ...

Dear Joe Flacco, I know Eli Manning and you're no Eli Manning...
Brees has better stats no question about it, if stats are the only thing you factor take Brees. Brees plays in a dome for over half of his games, when he played in SD he didn't put up these type of numbers. Brees is short for a QB. I forgot most of you guys think only of numbers and not of other factors. I think I'd at least take a look at both Mannings and Brees and would not snap call taking Brees over them.

WTF is wrong with people
I really respect your opinion on this site so I need you to elaborate as to why you say you don't know this. I agree with just about everything you said but based on the facts of the case as I know them (which obviously can be wrong given the amount of misinformation is out there) they themselves admitted that their normal standard protocol wasn't followed (guy dies give guy who kills him alcohol and drug test, guy's interview not taped). Assuming that is correct how can one say you have no opinion on how they handled it. I agree with all your other points but I don't think the rest is ...

Not sure why it is so black and white the Brees>Eli. Brady/Rodgers I agree with but I think Eli/Brees/Payton (assume healthy) are all about the same. Brees had one outstanding year and is a great QB but I'm not sure given his lack of height and tendency to throw picks in clutch situations I don't think it's a given he is ahead of Eli

Maybe true. But the way the police handled the case set itself up for politics to come to the front. I just really don't believe a black guy is walking out the front door of that police department after gunning down a unarmed white guy. Not only that standard protocol wasn't followed (testing him for alcohol or drugs) and the interview wasn't taped. Black guy doesn't get that treatment

This means nothing. Brady probably wouldn't be the 1st QB taken either (because of age). If everyone was redrafted young talented QB's would probably go first. Doesn't mean there better. Brady is one of the best QB's in the history of the NFL and I actually find myself rooting for him because I like the guy. But if I was a GM today drafting a team I wouldn't even consider taking him. He was probably 3-4 great years left and there is a ton of really talented young QB's out there. If I had a team that was a QB away from a SB he would be the guy I'd take but redrafting a new team no way Edit ...

So is Brady not top 5 since he has never been the difference for his team when they have won SB's. Pats kicker and defense are the reason he has 3 SB's. Manning is the reason he doesn't have any more

Does this analogy of taxes make sense?
This is a NEA talking point but I'm not sure it's accurate when presented in its full context. Saying teachers made more in salary only in 1950 compared to today (taking into account for inflation and COLA) is accurate. When you look at full benefits provided and compare that to everyone else they are doing better than most. That doesn't mean that every teacher in every distract, every county in the US is better off but by in large when you factor in the fact that many government teaching jobs pay health benefits, still have a defined benefit pension plan, have guaranteed retirement income, ...

Does this analogy of taxes make sense?
Problem with your thought process is that rich people don't get to take advantage of many of the things. There is income phaseouts for mortgage deductions and itemized deductions. Many of those loopholes you talk about are closed for rich people. Upper middle class, middle class, lower class can all take advantage of most of them but not rich people. So if you have a loophole a rich person can take advantage that no one else can I agree we have a unfair system I just am not familiar with any. I have a accounting degree but I don't practice accounting (try to keep up but it changes too ...

I have an accounting degree. I got it because my school didn't have a finance degree available, accounting was very easy to me, and I knew a business degree was worthless. If you have a choice go for finance do not stick with a business degree only.

Without outrage this case is closed. Is that what you want given the apparent cover up by the police. I'm not saying there over reaction in this case is right but without a reaction at all this case is closed as a justified self defense that does not seem correct given the facts of the case (that have not been fully disclosed). When police don't do there job (in this case potential cover up) I hope in all situations there is a over recation the allows for justice. Just like the Kansas City situation.

I agree with the fact that we as a society have become numb to stuff like this and that stuff like this happens every day. I disagree that because we lack outrage at every other tragedy we should lack outrage on this one. It should be the other way around, although I understand that will never happen. I just think the attitude that we should sweep this under the rug because all these others murders get no coverage isn't right although I understand your point. It's like if a cute white kids goes missing it gets national news for a couple of weeks if a black kid goes missing you would hear ...

Not sure what new evidence is coming to light. The fact that he claims he was getting into his car and gets attacked from behind is refuted by the 16 year girl who said they had a verbal altercation before they starting fighting A 13 year old who said that the guy was on the ground screaming seems legit to me but I don't see how it's changes anything What we do know is this - 1) Guy has called the 911 or the police over 40 times within the past year for various things going on in his neighborhood 2) Guy had a gun 3) Guy decided to follow kid in car with gun, call 911 report suspicious ...

Bye Bye Peyton Manning
So when you said no team has ever dominated the regular season over a decade in the NFL like the Colts and only had one SB ring you meant no team between 2000-2012 has dominated like the Colts (even though that isn't true either you can at least suggest 2 more wins over the course of a decade = dominance) Funny stuff

Bye Bye Peyton Manning
I don't think 114 versus 112 equals dominance in the regular season. Teams have dominated the regular season in a 10 year period greater than the Colts did and walked away without a SB. Like someone mentioned the Vikings from 1970-79 won 99 regular season games. At the time they played a 14 game schedule. If you averaged out there wins over the decade to 16 games it comes to 113 wins. Three Super Bowls and no rings. If you took out 1979 (7 wins) and put in 1969 (12 wins and a SB appearance) and it is 104 wins over a 14 game schedule and 119 wins over a 16 game schedule. So quit complaining ...

Tim Tebow era..?
Same thing other side of the coin. People blame Tebow for the losses and give him no credit for the wins. The guy is just a very polarizing player because of many factors not just his religious beliefs. I'm pulling for him not because he is religious but because he seems like a great guy with everything he does. Hard not to like a guy who is as nice as a person as he is and has the work ethic he does. That said he needs to make massive improvements with reading defenses, throwing motion (quicker release), and accuracy in order to stick in the NFL. But I think he does and he will be ...
