Re:What to do with medium PP deep in tourney with 14BBs Shove. With 28K and an M just barely over 5, you are about a round away from being in shove or fold mode anyway. With the antes, blinds and limpers, there is already 9K in the pot and you have enough fold equity to get all but monsters to fold and you would increase your stack by 33% if you take it down here. If you get called, pray to win the race or catch a miracle to have a nice stack to play with. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Is this overplayed AA in omaha? I like to play serious pot-control in PLO. Your preflop play was fine, but C-bet less after the flop to find out where you are at. You pretty much pot-committed yourself to the hand when you could have got the information cheaper and possibly gotten away from it. Don't over-value AA in Omaha post-flop....one pair rarely holds up, and against that serious draw-heavy board, I would proceed with caution. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Is this standard or am I a donk? A good player can get away from AQ without going broke with it. You should have made a standard raise to find out where you were at instead of blindly shoving 24BB's into the BB unless you had significant information on Wretling to know he would make a call with hands significantly less than AQ. Since we don't know any of this history between the two of you, than isolating this one hand appears by itself makes it appear to be very donkish. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): In Progress Now!!! FieryJustice, ActionJeff, BigRiskky, Redsoxsox, Greenstein at WPT Final Table Clements pwning this table.... Barry Greenstein has the button in seat 5, Clements raises from the small blind to 80,000, and Farkye calls from the big blind. The flop comes , Clements quickly checks, Farkye moves all in, and Clements immediately calls with for top two pair. Farkye shows for an open-ended straight draw, and he'll need to improve to stay alive. The turn card is the , putting four spades on the board, and another on the river would create a chopped pot. Re(1): In Progress Now!!! FieryJustice, ActionJeff, BigRiskky, Redsoxsox, Greenstein at WPT Final Table AJ first one out.... Kofi Farkye has the button in seat 1, Clements raises from the cutoff to 70,000, and Garza calls. The flop comes , Garza checks, Clements bets 150,000, and Garza thinks for a minute before he moves all in. Clements immediately calls with for the nut flush draw, and Garza shows for an open-ended straight draw. Clements currently leads with ace high, and Garza needs a non-spade jack, ten, or six to stay alive. The turn card is the , and Garza is drawing dead. Re(2): ever fold AKs not on a bubble to one raise? Even if chipleader shows KK to me I am still shoving in here with AKs given those chip/blind levels. Even if he has KK you have 30% chance of almost tripling up with the antes in there. As previously stated...nice job on the 6th, but that is irrelevant to whether you made the correct decision or not. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): PocketFives Cruise Giveaway Tournament Series! Nice promotion. Unfortunatly, the East Coast biased starting time (7:30pm EST) for every tourney will pretty much prevent any of us West Coasters who work for a living from being able to participate. Re(2): When to play for 1st, or just to cash? I would strongly disagree with this. If you have 6 or fewer BB's left, one of the best times to get yourself back into the tournament is within 3-5 players of the money. This is the period where most of the players have tightened up, which means stealing blinds is easier now than at any other time of the tournament. If you find yourself starting to get low as the money bubble approaches, put all of your attention at identifying the players that are starting to tighten up so you can be prepared to attack them without mercy at the bubble and get your stack back up to a respectable level. Re(1): Final Table Mentality Blinds at 2000/4000, Ante 300, and you ONLY raise to $8500' You were asking for trouble with that extremely weak raise. No reason to get cute with 66.....shove the stack. Winning the blinds with no showdown is the goal here and shoving gives you the best chance at that. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): 530 Million hand deep I don't think I want to attack the UTG player here yet with just 99, especially without a very strong read on him. It would be one thing if you read him as being very LAG and he was mixing it up in a ton of hands. If you think he is pretty solid, you have to respect his raise from this position. You aren't getting the right implied odds to mine for a set here since your stack isn't large enough to give you the proper odds, yet your stack isn't so small that you need to make a desperation play yet. I think it was a good fold....you should have a better spot to take a stand, where you can put ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): My stack size dilemma If you are at the middle stages of the tournament and have been at this table for a while, I would think you should already know what you can get away with vs the BB when you are in the SB. I try to find out in the early stages of the tournament whether the player to my left is a defender or not. If he is a strong defender, you probably want to lay off him the majority of the time, but occasional jabbing at the steal to keep him annoyed, thus hopefully setting a trap for later when you pick up a monster. If he is passive with his blinds, just plunder away until you get caught. In your ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): bodog bad breaks I agree...don't be pissed that the guy with 75 called you. That is the type of player you want at your table. In the long run, he will become your ATM with plays like that. First thing you do after a beat like that is put him on your buddies list and always look for the table he is on. Don't sweat the beats too much. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Question for Top Tournament Players While I don't consider myself a "Top" tournament player, I have had moderate success here or there. My opinion is your hand wasn't strong enough for a check call here. Instead of putting the pressure on him by making him make a decision for all of his chips, you put the pressure on yourself by making yourself the caller instead of being the aggressor. Once he has all his chips in the middle, he either wins the pot by your folding or he gets the opportunity to see all the streets and has a chance for his hand to improve and defeat you. With something like AT, a check-call might be a better ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): Gold vs. Cunningham Hand Did you see how much this call tormented Gold, both before he made the call, and also afterwards' AC made the perfect size bet to ensure he got paid off. After seeing he is beat, Gold immediately was looking for justification for his call from both AC and from Chan. Obviously AC was thrilled with the call and encouraged Gold by saying "Yeah, that's a cooler", but you could see the disappointment in Chan's face that Gold made the decision he did. Excellent play by AC all the way...he probably got the maximum he could have without Gold laying it down. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
