In late 2008, Matt won the TitanPoker ECOOP III Event #5 for $91,800 just one month after final tabling the Full Tilt Poker $750k Guaranteed for another $52,500. In January '10, he took down the PartyPoker $300k Guaranteed for $60,000.
In March 2012, Kay banked $118,000 in a $5,000 buy-in tournament on Ongame and also won the PartyPoker $200K for $57,000. He also won that month's Monthly PLB title.
In July 2012, he won the Ongame $200K for $35,000 and subsequently ascended to #1 in the PocketFives Rankings, the first new player at the top of the Rankings in four months. September 2013 saw Kay final table the Full Tilt $250K for $17,000. In May 2014, he was back at it, this time winning the Ongame ChampionChip for $12,000, defeating a field of over 300 entrants. One month later, he was the runner-up in the Party $200K for $16,000.
