Why doesn't anyone play the 5+.50 45 player on FTP? I don't play on-line all that much. I'm mostly a live player; not a pro by any means. I'm just wondering why the $5+.50 45-player game takes so long to fill up. All you have to do is fade 39 people to double your buy-in and there's an $85.50 prize for a win. Seems like a no-brainer to me... Any thoughts from the P5's community on why this game is largely avoided' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:AK FTP 3+R 5k ^^^^^^^^^^^ Agreed. AK is still just A high and you could be up against two PP's. Hopefully they'll duke it out to a showdown and you'll get some information that will prove useful later on. Ulfsaar pretty much pot committed himself with the chip leader still to act. Usually spells strength to me. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:What's your play? Wow. I'm always surprised to see people call off that many chips late in a tournament with hands like AK. Terrible luck but at least you got it in with the best hand and you had to like to see that they were slitting their outs. I wonder, if you had just called pre-flop and then pushed after the flop if you could have knocked Badbeatallx off his hand... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:What's your play? Badbeatallx's range here, IMO, is fairly slim. But without any reads or information about how he'd been playing it is very tough to determine. If he had been playing LAG then this could be a call with anything from 77+, KJs - AKo. If he had been playing TAG, I only see him making this kind of play with JJ+ or AQs+. As I said in the other post, this looks like a big hand to me. He knows you opened with a standard raise from early poistion which typically indicates some strength, especially with some pretty big chip stacks still to act behind you. Traditional thinking says that if you ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:What's your play? Oh. No I didn't notice that. That changes everything... Sorry. In that case I would strongly consider letting this go. Badbeatallx didn't raise to try to isolate the all-in; he wants you in this hand. Looks like a monster to me. I would also think about just smooth calling. You're getting almost 4:1 on a call and if you were lucky enough to spike the Q this could turn into an enormous pot for you. Without any info about reads that you may have of Badbeatallx, I would say make the call and if there are no over-cards on the flop I would lead out with at least 60% of the pot ... Re:What's your play? Snap call, IMO. His range is enormous. This could be any pocket pair, K10s - AKo. You're +EV a majority of the time and even if you're to lose the hand you still have roughly 42 Big Blinds left. If you win you have over 500K, more than 60 BB's, and then you can really pick your spots. His raise, if it wasn't an all-in, would be just a standard 3-bet. But the fact that it is an all-in widens his range a lot. It's a standard call which also gives you the opportunity to narrow the field. Do it. IMO Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Did I really want him to see this river? Hollywood for a little while then shove that shit. Laugh when he turns over AdJx or AXd. STAY RIGHT!!!!!! At least I hope that's what happened. If he only bet 300 into a pot of 1350 on the flop I doubt he's holding TT-AA and allowing anyone with the flush/straight draw to stay in the hand cheap. He's on a draw or holding TPTK imo. I don't think reaching for max value is smart here. Take this pot down now with a bigger check raise. This board is way too drawy with bottom set. Tax him for another 1000 on top of his 300, that way you'll know where you're at. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:pretty sick spot. If you're already in the money I don't see why you can't shove here. There's $11,550 in the pot and Rounder bets $5050 from the button. He's just playing aggressive poker with position on a smaller stack. His line is huge here. I think you're ahead here 70-80% of the time, if not more. You've got $25,127 left. If you shove he has to decide if he wants to risk another $20,000 on his draw, maybe TPTK or two overs. Re:Couple random Live hands that need help with. Hand 1: IMO the only hand you're worried about here is AA. However I don't think the way the SB played the hand is indicative of AA. Re:AK UTG final table 10 handed, top 9 pay I think no matter how you played this hand, the outcome would have been the same. Unless you fold pre, which would have been a mistake. You're UTG, so if you let this go, you're going to have to put in $2075 next hand and $1075 the following hand ($3150 = 17% of your stack). Odds are this AKo is going to be the best hand you will see in the next three hands, so you cannot lay this down. Put another 2800-3600 on top and make him play this hand for everything. If you do so, you're obviously pot-commited and he knows that. I know most players like the odds and a chance to be the overwhelming CL, but I HATE calling all-in with AQo. If I'm first in the pot with AQ or first to call the shortie, that's fine. Re:4 Handed in 45 man SNG- Thoughts This is an interesting hand. His raise is unusually small, almost asking for action from the BB. You can push and find out where you are, but if he's paired and it holds up you will be in trouble. On the other hand he could be trying to steal with KJ or KQ, in which case you're okay. I think a call is okay, if you know his style and current level of aggression. If you call and miss, a check-fold is okay, you've not lost much and you're still the chip leader. It's a risk vs reward decision. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Question about Cbetting early in 6 man tourneys :) I think a c-bet here is difinitely the way to go. You should bet 50%-70% of the pot with the nut flush draw. The scare of the clubs might win you the pot right there, or you might get called considering he has a straight draw, even if it is a gut-shot. It looks like this is very early on in the tournament, second hand judging by the chip stacks. I think that a good portion of the time if you lead out for a bet of 105 (70%) of the pot, your opponent will either give you credit for a hand or at least give you credit for the flush draw.
