Re(1): April Stars Bet brewing rivalries already, gank vs marinersheep
This should be added as an addendum to Websters dictionary under the word petty. It's his money, so what do you care' He's chipping up your whole table, and you fuck him with a BS stall tactic for the singular purpose of being a dick. Embarassingly petty.

Re(1): My Statement
Wow, it's hard for me to believe how corrupt some of these "Top players" are turning out to be. Somewhere in that long-winded statement Zee said that most other players do this sort of thing. I personally would never do it, and I don't think many other players would either. Dude, this is an egregious example of cheating.

Paradise Poker Omaha & 7 card Stud TLB - through 2/25/6
I've been tracking the results of (almost) all of the Omaha, Omaha Hi-Low, 7 card Stud & Stud Hi-Low Tournaments on Paradise Poker an ongoing basis since January 1st of this year. The way I track the results is as follows: I track the Top 5 finishers in each of the tournaments, then assign points as follows: 1st=25 Points, 2nd=15 points, 3rd=10 points, 4th=7 points, 5th-5 points No extra weight is given to either the # of players or the buyin. For those of you who play these tournaments on Paradise Poker, you might find these results interesting. I'll try to post these standings on a ...

Re(1): Attn JJProdigy
JJ/P5'ers, First off, I'm not trying to judge you at all, and my two cents on this matter is this. From everything I've ever read about JJ and everything I've read by him, he seems like a really good guy (and obviously a great player). My first reaction to the loss of $$$'s was that really stinks. That's just my gut reaction. After that, I factor in the fact that he was cheating, although I don't think that this is a major cheat. My bottom line feeling is that the punishment doesn't really fit the crime. I think that it's obviously wrong what he did, but I think the onus should really be ...

Paradise Poker Omaha & 7 card Stud Tourney Leaderboard
I've been tracking the results of (almost) all of the Omaha, Omaha Hi-Low, 7 card Stud & Stud Hi-Low Tournaments on Paradise Poker an ongoing basis since the beginning of this year. The way I track the results is as follows: I track the Top 5 finishers in each of the tournaments, then assign points as follows; 1st=10 Points, 2nd=7 points, 3rd=5 points, 4th=3 points, 5th-2 points. No extra weight is given to either the # of players or the buyin (I don't want to make this a huge tracking effort). Re(1): Feeling like you are in a slump
I wish I could help offer you an answer but not sure if I can. I have sort of been in this situation a couple of times. When I first started playing full time, and I mean FULL TIME, I got burned out, especially with No Limit. So I basically stopped playing it and really started to enjoy Omaha/Hi-Low and Stud. That helped. When I got back from a few weeks in Vegas during the WSOP, which also really helped liven things up, I started playing online again full time. I was doing very well in tournaments but, because the tournaments I play are often late at night, I thought I'd start playing Sit ...

funny talk at the Poker table - "Don't be an idiot! "
i caught this gem of a converation at the poker table last night. It was so funny to me that i'd thought i'd post it (at some point, I swear I'm gonna write a poker song titled "Don't be an idiot" based on this): »Sed8ing: thx grinch »Dealer: 5 minute break in 5 minutes »vbet_Holmes: looks like we might have a good duel after all »Sed8ing: »Gibraltarian: no limping man »nolimping: can't limp with the nuts »nolimping: that was one sick call on your part »Gibraltarian: don't be an idiot »nolimping: no hand no draw. i'll call and get a miracle split »Gibraltarian: don't be an ...

Has anyone made it their New Years Resolution to play Poker full time?
Just curious to hear from people who have made it their New Years Resolution to play Online poker fulltime. Be cool to hear your stories, how you were able to make that decision, what your plans/goals are. Happy New Years & good luck on the virtual felt in 2006! Chivas Regal Note - I made the leap to full time in August, playin Low/Medium MTT's in Omaha/Stud/LH and so far so good (but not great) with 60%+ ROI. Only downside for me, being on the (Mid-Atlantic) East Coast is that it's difficult to play live for a change of pace since there aren't many casinos around. My suggestion would ...

Re(1): My Conversion In 2006
Gidders, If you have the ability to 8 table and are going to start playing cash games, I'd highly recommend learning Omaha 8. It's the only game out there that I can think of where you can expect 5 big bets p/hour by simply playing good starting hands and playing solid after the flop strategy (drawing to nut hands, etc.). Re(1): Is there a time in an MTT to just play to cash?
Right when you pick up the JJ, open up all the other tournament tables where there are short stacks and see what's going on (in my case, when I'm near the bubble I usually already have them open). Then STALL, STALL, STALL (for about a minute)! If no one busts out after a minute, , strongly consider folding (esp. if bubble pay is 3x the buyin). I know you hate to throw away a hand like JJ, but that close to the money it might be worth it (although Adam also makes a good point as well), especially if you've been running cold. I personally try to avoid stall tactics but in this situation a ...

Omaha H/L Late tourney starting hand selection/plays
Was wondering what you guys thought about certain hand selection when the blinds are getting big and/or your near the bubble. The types of hands I'm referring to are hands like these: A8s56 - UTG/early position A38Ts - UTG/early position/first to act or even... A2xx (i.e. rags) - early/all positions. & premium hands such as... A2sKJ A2sK6 Actually I'm referring to all hands because frankly I don't know WTF I'm doing!. Really though, the blinds are so big and are so critical to where you place in the tourney that I often feel that I am wasting bets when I have a near premium to "always ...

Re(2): Did I play this properly?
I've noticed from a few of your other posts that you tend to try to play these sets for huge hands by slow playing and have paid for it. Obviously, it also pays off for you at times. I think this hand might have been better played if you made your 700 chip raise on the flop rather than the turn. With an A AND a K on the flop, one or both of those players almost surely had an Ace or K; you'd probably get a big payout with calldowns in that case, and you would'nt be giving people pot odds to call. Another possibility is that you will be reraised all in by someone holding an A/K or draw (donks ...

Re(1): How is Wachovia ranked?
I don't think that any of the plays that Wachovia made here were BAD, if so, they were only marginally so. If you don't have a problem with the preflop call of the rereaise with AK, which I don't, then I think his flop call wasn't that bad (he was only getting slightly less pot odds vs. the amount he had to call). And I actually like that he pushed in his chips on the turn. His opponent was going to bet anyway and Wachovia would've been compelled to call because of his outs; by betting, he might get his opponent to lay down if he had missed the flop or was straight out bluffing. Re(1): MTT statistics question
These results are very good and justify continued MTT play. That is, unless your time would be better spent in cash games or sit and go's. But if I were you I'd be very encouraged with these results. If you can get the same kind of results at the higher buy-in levels, you should make a lot of money. I primarily play MTT's for my poker income, along with some Sit & Go's, and I shoot for 100% ROI on MTT's, about 50% for SNG's. Tournaments I play avg. about 125-150 people, at about the same buy-in level that you play, and I've been averaging 3% wins, 22% final table, and 30% cash ...
